Marjorie I. Moran
Marjorie I. Moran died March 26, 2001, after a 17 year battle with cancer. She was 79.
She was born March 2, 1922, to George and Gladys Moran in Napa. She attended Vallejo High School where she met her future husband, George Francis Moran. The two were marriage June 12, 1943 just before George was sent off to war. She remained in Vallejo until George returned home. In 1949 the two moved briefly to Vacaville, then to Marysville where they stayed until 1956.
Work with the state then took the two to Fresno, where they began to raise their family. In 1959 they left for Berkeley where she worked for several years in real estate. In 1970 they moved to Davis where she went to work for UC Davis as a secretary in the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. She worked in that capacity for 10 years until she retired.
She was very active in her retirement years. She donated countless hours with the Davis Senior Center as a secretary and as an instructor in ceramics, as well as being a member of the Board of Directors for the center. In 2000, she was honored as "Senior Citizen of the Year." She also served as a past president for the Genealogy Society of Davis. Her greatest joy was in raising her five children.
She is survived by her husband, George Francis Moran; brother, Robert Martin and his wife, Pat, of Mill Valley; her children, Martin F. Moran and his wife, Paulette, of Antioch; Catherine Von Ibsch and her husband, Ernst, of Oakland; Patricia Whittaker of Lauganitas; George M. Moran and his wife, Sheila, of Sterling, VA; and Matthew Moran of Davis. Also, her grandchildren, Kerry Martin and her husband, Leif, of Castro Valley; Vicki M. Jansen; Steven Jansen; Ernst Von Ibsch IV, Kurt Von Ibsch, and Eric Von Ibsch; Brianna and Shannon Moran; and great-granddaughter, Isis M. Martin.
Remembrances may be made in her name to the Davis Senior Center, 646 A Street, Davis, CA 95616. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Chapel.
MORELL
Jermaine J. Morell
A Rosary and a Mass of Christian Burial were to be held today at St. James Catholic Church for Jermaine J. Morell, who died Feb. 8, 2001, in Citrus Heights. Born April 5, 1911, in St. Louis, Mo., she was 89.
She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Brewer and her husband John; eight grandchildren, Michael, Shaun, Suzanne, Edward, Phillip, Nancy, Mary and Anne; nine great-grandchildren, Noelle, Emma Rose, Nathaniel, Joshua, Sarah, Isaac, Matthew, Daniel and Valerie; and two great-great-grandchildren, Isiah and Juras.
Burial at Calvary Cemetery in Sacramento followed today's services.
MORENO
Carol A. Moreno
Carol A. Moreno passed away in Sacramento Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004 at age 56. Carol was born Aug. 14, 1948 in San Jose to the late David and Esther Ramirez. Carol had a great love of God; her favorite verse was Psalms 121. Carol sang, played piano and was a Sunday school teacher in church.
Survivors include Carol's husband of 37 years, Anthony Moreno; her daughters, De Anne Vasquez, Julie Earnest and her husband Tim and Stacy Gonzalez and her husband David; her grandchildren Jherek Vasquez; Dejanera and Shailah Gonzalez; her sisters, Jeanette and Linda Ramirez and her brothers, David and James Ramirez. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph Ramirez I.
Services: Viewing will be 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22 at Oak Hill Funeral Home, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose. A wake will be 7 p.m. following the viewing. Interment will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 at Oak Hill Funeral Home.
MORENO
Faustino Reyes Moreno
Faustino Reyes Moreno died at his home in Madison Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005 at age 76.
Mr. Moreno was born Feb. 15, 1929 in El Monte. He had been a Yolo County resident for 60 years. He served in the U.S. Army from August 1952 to July 1954. He was owner of Moreno's Mexican Food at Denio's Farmers' Market in Roseville and was known for his "chile verde burritos."
Survivors include Mr. Moreno's wife of 49 years, Mary "Honorina" Moreno of Madison; his daughters, Rachel de la Cruz and her husband Nicolas of Madison and Sally Castro of West Sacramento; his sons, David Moreno and his wife Sandra and Phillip Moreno, all of Madison; his adopted daughters, Pachia Arellano of Winters, Lupita Enriquez of Woodland and Lencha Castro of Sacramento; his grandchildren, Nicolas de la Cruz, Sergio de la Cruz, Omar Moreno, Monica Moreno, Alex Moreno, Luis Castro, Cristal Castro, Miguel "Guero" Castro and Phillip Moreno; his sisters, Della Moreno, Rosie Rodriguez, Jennie Angulo, Lucy Trujillo and Elisa Trujillo; his brother, Leo Moreno; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leobardo and Elbira Moreno; and his sister, Eloisa Moreno.
Services: A vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Interment will follow the service at Monument Hill Memorial Park. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
MORIEL
James Moriel, Jr.
James Moriel, Jr. passed away on June 6, 2000 in Sacramento after a brief illness. Born in Vacaville on Oct. 4, 1932, he was 67 years old.
Mr. Moriel was a Winters resident for the past 10 years. He taught in the Morland School District, San Jose Unified School district and was an administrator for the San Jose School District. He was a rancher in Winters and Dixon for 31 years.
Mr. Moriel was the director of the Solano County Farm Bureau, former director of the Ulatis Resource Conservation District and an alumni of San Jose State. He enjoyed golfing and farming.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bobbie of Winters; mother Lola Moriel of Vacaville; sister Virginia Lopez and her husband Joe of Vacaville; sister-in-law Ada Dito of Vacaville and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main Street, in Vacaville.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9 at 1 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel. Interment will follow at the Elmira Cemetery in Vacaville.

MORFOT - Near Woodland (Yolo Co.), July 25, 1911, Frederick W. Morfot, husband of Mrs. F. Morfot, father of Mrs. C.A. AINSWORTH of Des Moines, Iowa, Odessa and C.A. Morfot of Woodland, a native if Illinois, aged 72 years, 2 months and 5 days.
MORGAN
Geraldine Morgan
Geraldine "Gerrie" Morgan died March 11, 2001, in Davis. Born July 9, 1922, in Lapeer, Mich., she was 78.
She served in the Coast Guard and during WWII was stationed in Florida. After the war was over, she was marriage to Herbert Morgan. They moved to Southern California and then on to Palo Alto, where they resided for 41 years. She was a leader in family activities, an elder in her church, Covenant Presbyterian, as well as a troop leader for both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She pursued the study of genealogy and published "McCann: The Window Glass Family" in 1996.
She is survived by her husband, Herb; her son, Thomas, and his wife, Samia, of San Mateo; and her daughter, Carlee, and her husband, Rick, of San Diego and four grandchildren, Erin, Sami, Jack and Chantal. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Davis Community Church, 412 C Street, Davis. Donations in Gerrie's honor should be made to the American Lung Association.
MORGAN
Mamie Marie "Mae" Jensen Morgan
Mrs. Mae Morgan passed away peacefully on Nov. 23, 2003 at Sierra Health Care in Davis. Born on Oct. 15, 1913 in Port Townsend, Washington, she was 90 years old. Mae was the first child of Martin and Christina Jensen.
Mae marriage Roland Morgan on Aug. 23, 1939 in Vallejo. She has been a resident of Solano County since 1936. She worked for over 30 years at Blanco & Boyle Insurance in Vallejo as the office manager. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Winters, where she has resided for the past 28 years. While living in Winters, she worked at the Morgan Ranch. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Mae is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roland "Bud" Morgan in January of 1995, and brothers John and Dick Jensen and a sister, Bertha Davieau.
The rosary will be recited on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. at Smith's Colonial Chapel, 14 Main Street in Winters. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Third and Main streets in Winters. Burial will follow at All Souls Catholic Cemetery in Vallejo. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith's Colonial Chapel.
MORICONI
Alfred "Freddie" Moriconi
Alfred "Freddie" Moriconi died in his Woodland home Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at age 66.
Born July 25, 1936, Mr. Moriconi was a Woodland native and graduated from Woodland High School. He worked for Elm Ford Mercury for 40 years and since his retirement worked with his son farming rice.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Moriconi of Woodland; son, Rob Moriconi; granddaughter, Kaylee Moriconi; and grandson, Martin Moriconi, all of Colusa; sister, Phyliss Machado; and nephews, Steve Machado and wife Vickie and Gary Machado and wife Diane, all of Woodland.
The family requests memorials be directed to Leukemia Society. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
