Edith Muller
Edith Muller of Winters passed away in Winters on Feb. 1, 2002. Born in Bear River, Utah on June 28, 1913, she was 88 years old.
Mrs. Muller marriage Frank C. Muller on April 6, 1946 and moved to the Allendale area in 1950 where they had two children. She lived in Winters for the past nine years. She had a passion for working in the yard and tending to her flowers, she loved to garden. Living in Allendale on their little farm gave her plenty of space to do both.
She lost Frank on May 6, 1985 and continued to live on the ranch until 1992. The farm was just too much for her to take care of, so she sold the ranch and bought a home in Winters, which soon had flowers all around the house. She was able to stay there until she took ill in 1998 at which time she moved in with her daughter, Barbara, who took care of her until she earned her wings and went to heaven.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Barbara J. and Terry Karlen of Winters; grandchildren, Ronnie Karlen of Winters, Mary Ann Florney of Fairfield and David Smith of Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank and daughter Anna May Smith in 1981.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m., at the Davis Cemetery in Davis.
MULLIKEN
Helen Harriett Mulliken dies at 82
Helen Harriett Mulliken died at Sutter Davis Hospital on June 14, 1990. Mrs. Mulliken was born in Sacramento on January 10, 1908, and was 82 years of age. She was a homemaker for 64 years and was preceded in death by her husband Earl Mulliken, who died in Sacramento in 1978. She had moved to Winters six months ago. Mrs. Mulliken was past president of East Sacramento Chapter #1325 of the American Association of Retired Persons.
She is survived by three children: Mildred Pingree of Orinda, Tom Mulliken of Fort Worth, Texas, and Nancy Chapman of Winters. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In compliance with the deceased’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
The family wishes to publicly express their appreciation for the care and concern of the people at Sutter Davis Hospital.
MUMMA
Gladys Louise Mumma
Gladys Louise Mumma died on Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital. She was 88 years old.
Mrs. Mumma was born on Aug. 17, 1915, in Dunnigan to Frank and Ida Fletcher, and was a lifelong resident of Dunnigan. She attended Woodland High School and marriage Thomas Mumma on Oct. 31, 1937. She had lived in the same Dunnigan home - in which she was born and raised - for the past 30 years. She took great pride, family members report, in caring for her son, Lance, who had Downs Syndrome.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Thomas Mumma; daughter, Barbara Allen of Mountain View; sons, Sid Mumma of Dunnigan, Stephen Mumma of Lincoln, and Stewart Mumma of Arbuckle. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Lance, and her brothers Brick and Gordon Fletcher.
Services: Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at the McNary-Moore Funeral Home in Colusa. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 12, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Arbuckle. Burial will follow in the Arbuckle Catholic Cemetery with Father John Myles officiating.
MUMMA
Thomas L. Mumma (1st of 2 obituaries)
Thomas L. Mumma, born in Arbuckle on New Years Day, 1914, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2005 after a short illness.
Tom studied aeronautical engineering while attending Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo but upon the premature death of his father, needed to return home to run the family farm, which he did for some 55 years.
Tom marriage Gladys Fletcher of Dunnigan 1937 and raised five children together in the Arbuckle area, except for a few years during WWII when they lived in Vallejo and Tom worked at Mare Island.
He had a lifelong interest in airplanes and earned his private pilot's license at the age of 60.
Throughout the years Tom was involved in many community interest and served as a member of the Dunnigan Water Board, the Dunnigan Fire Commission and as a trustee of the Pierce High School.
He was also a valued member of the Dunnigan Volunteer Fire Department until he retired at the age of 90.
Tom was a member of an early Colusa County pioneer family.
Survivors include Tom's daughter, Barbara Allen of Mountain View; his sons, Sid Mumma and family friend Patricia Frazier of Dunnigan, Stephen Mumma and his wife Barbara of Lincoln and Stewart Mumma and his wife Susan of Arbuckle; his brother, Donald Mumma and his wife Louis of Arbuckle; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Gladys Mumma, his son, Lance Mumma and his sister Evelyn Mumma.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 7 at the McNary-Moore Chapel in Colusa. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 8 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Arbuckle. Burial will follow at the Arbuckle Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tom's behalf to the Dunnigan Fire Department or to the charity of your choice.

MUNOZ
David L. Munoz
David Lopez Munoz died unexpectedly in Patterson Nov. 9, 2001, at the age of 29. He was born in Mexicali, Mexico on Dec. 3, 1972, to Imelda Munoz and the late Jose P. Munoz.
He was a resident of Yolo County for 22 years. He was a delivery driver for Pepsi Cola Co. for the past five years.
He is survived by his son, Julian Munoz of Woodland, his mother, Imelda Munoz of Sacramento, sisters Yolanda Munoz of El Centro and Rachel Munoz and Veronica Munoz of Sacramento, and his brothers, Sergio A. Munoz, Guillermo Munoz, Gustavo Munoz, Pedro Munoz, Luis R. Munoz and Carlos A. Munoz, all of Woodland. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St. in Woodland. The funeral Mass begins at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut St. in Woodland, with interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 318 Court St.
McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
MUNOZ
Robert Munoz
Mr. Robert Munoz died at Woodland Memorial Hospital on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at the age of 80.
Born on Aug. 13, 1922, in El Oro, Estado de Mexico, to Estanislao and Refugio (Sanchez) Munoz, Mr. Munoz had been a resident of Woodland for 47 years, working as a welder for several local businesses for the past 30 years.
Mr. Munoz is survived by his children, Eva Diab and husband Mark of Yuba City, Jose Munoz of North Carolina, Marcelino Munoz of Citrus Heights, Robert Munoz and wife Mary of Bakersfield, George Munoz and wife Julie of Woodland, Carlos Munoz and wife Patricia of El Paso, Texas, Arturo Munoz and wife LaDonna of Chula Visata, Rachel Munoz of Woodland, Mary Delgado and husband Jerry of Martinez, Steve Munoz and wife Stella of Concord, as well as by 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Munoz was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Raquel, in 1990.
Friends are invited to attend a vigil service to be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Holy Rosary Church in Woodland. Friends are also invited to attend a funeral mass scheduled at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, also at Holy Rosary church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
MURDOCH
June Fern Murdoch
June Fern (Willis) Murdoch died in Woodland's Alderson Convalescent Hospital Monday, June 24, 2002, at age 85.
Born June 5, 1917, in Willows, Mrs. Murdoch had been a lifelong Yolo County resident.
She was the daughter of the late Walter and Ruth (Fagg) Willis.
According to her family, "She was an avid walker and prior to being widowed.
She and her husband loved to travel throughout the western states, often spending long periods of time in Montana, enjoying the scenery.
They also spent memorable vacations at South Lake Tahoe and took cruises to relax and enjoy life.
A dedicated baseball fan, she enjoyed watching the Giants on television, and following the career of her niece, world famous model, Christie Turlington.
She anxiously reviewed all magazines each month, looking for photos and stories of her famous and favorite niece.
Additionally, she could be found helping her many friends with chores, playing pinochle at the senior center and she never missed the opportunity to celebrate a friend's birthday by preparing her specialty, a pink-frosted, angel-food cake and dressing in pink for the special occasion.
Her love of birds and chocolate amused her friends and always gave them something to share with her.
As long as she could stay active and participate, she liked to be accompanied to church by her friends and others who shared her love of the church."
Mrs. Murdoch is survived by her son, Donald A. Murdoch of Sacramento.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Murdoch, in June of 1984.
Friends are invited to participate in a graveside service, scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, in Monument Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Elmer Prout officiating. No viewing or visitation is scheduled prior to interment.
