Phyllis W. Jaeger
Phyllis W. Jaeger died on Dec. 6, 1999. Born on May 18, 1919, in Dorenlee, Canada, she was 80.
Her family moved to San Francisco when she was 5 years old and Phyllis grew up in the city, graduating from Balboa High School and Lessman's Business College.
She marriage Paul Jaeger in 1941 and lived in San Mateo, raising the couple's four children. She was very involved in her children's activities as she began her career as an artist.
When Paul retired, they moved to the Napa Valley, where she lived until 1997. She was active in valley associations, was president of the National League of American Pen Women's Napa branch and was president of the Humane Society of Napa County.
She continued her painting career with the Wine Country Artists and was a partner in the Vines Gallery in St. Helena.
After Paul's death in 1996, she moved to Davis, where she spent her remaining years close to family, living at Covell Gardens and Courtyard HealthCare.
Phyllis was known to her family, friends and acquaintances for her exceptionally generous and loving spirit, family members said.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul.
She will be sorely missed by her children, their spouses, eight grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Survivors include David and Shannon Jaeger, Marjorie Jaeger, Brian and Judy Jaeger, Eric, Keith, Scott and Lisa Jaeger, Kathryn Jaeger and Karl Menges, Hilary and Philip Menges, Andrew and Chris Jaeger and Valerie.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Claffey and Rodda in Napa.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Napa County Humane Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
JAGER
Lloyd Edward Jager
Lloyd Edward Jager died at Alderson's Convalescent Hospital on Saturday, June 9, 1999, after a lengthy illness. He was 60 years old. Born Feb. 8, 1939, in Woodland, he graduated from Esparto High School in 1957 and marriage Elizabeth Richardson.
Continuing his education at Yuba College in Marysville, Mr. Jager next attended Chico State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in civil engineering in 1963. That same year he settled his family in Marysville, where he was employed by St. Maurice-Helmkamp-Musser Inc. During that period he served as city engineer for Marysville and Wheatland.
Leaving Marysville in 1974 to further his career, he moved to Cody, Wyoming, and then back to Woodland. He worked for Yolo Engineers & Surveyors, which he eventually acquired and was the sole owner until it closed in 1997. During his employment with Yolo Engineers and Surveyors, he also served as city engineer of Winters. He was a licensed civil engineer in three states: California, Oregon and Wyoming, and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, where he once served as vice-president.
Mr. Jager enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his sons, and also enjoyed watching the 49ers.
Mr. Jager is survived by his four sons, Blane Jager of Sacramento, Mike Jager of Lake Berryessa, Harlan Jager of Yuba City, and Glen Jager of Woodland; three grandchildren, Alicia Jager of Davis, and Joshua and Travis Jager of Woodland; his mother, Ferne Jager of Esparto; and sisters, Artis Jensen of Esparto and Betty Ann Karlstad of Sacramento.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Jager, in 1991.
A private gathering will be held.
JAMES
Edward "Eddie" Lee James
Edward "Eddie" Lee James died at his home in Woodland July 14, 2005 at age 58.
Mr. James was born Oct. 19, 1946 in Sacramento. He was a lifelong resident and grew up on a farm west of Woodland. He attended Willow Oak Grammar School and Woodland High School. In the late 60s, he served in the Merchant Marine, traveling to Japan, Panama and other islands in the Pacific. After returning from his service, he worked as a truck driver for his great-uncle, Water Summ and later for A. Wahl Trucking. He also worked at Epperson Garage. In later life, he attended Yuba College. He assisted his instructor by tutoring students in agricultural-related subjects.
Survivors include Mr. James' mother, Harriet Jones; his second cousin, Wally Summ, both of Woodland; an aunt, uncle and numerous cousins in Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Noreen Sagara and his father, Charles James.
The family requests memorials in Mr. James' name be directed to the Yolo County SPCA, P.O. Box 510, Davis, 95617.
Services: Respecting the wishes of Mr. James, no services are scheduled. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
JAMES
Richard 'Rick' L. James
Richard "Rick" L. James died at Banner Churchill Community Hospital in Fallon, Nev. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005 at age 51.
Mr. James was born Dec. 18, 1953 in Woodland to Glenn and Ethel James. He attended school at Harriet Lee elementary school in Woodland and West Sacramento elementary school. He later attended Roseville High School. He worked for Valley Joist in Fernley and Amazon.com before retiring.
Survivors include Mr. James' wife Dianne James of Fernley; his daughter, Season James of Palm Bay, Fla.; his father, Glenn James of Tennessee; his mother, Ethel South and his sister, Kathy Parks both of Woodland; his brothers, Steven James and his wife Christine of Fernley, Nev. and Roy Anderozzi of Fallon, Nev. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: Visitation is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Monument Hill Memorial Park. The Gardens Funeral Home of Fallon and McNary's Chapel are assisting the family with arrangements.

Sharon Joan James (1st of 2 obituaries)
Sharon Joan James passed away on Monday, Oct. 4, 2004 at the age of 64, at the UC Davis Hospital in Sacramento, succumbing to cancer. Sharon was born in Glendale to Clifton and Kathleen Clark McDole. Sharon graduated from Alhambra High School and in 1957 she moved with her family to Sacramento, where she met and marriage her beloved husband, Jerry James. She was a Yolo County resident for 16 years, living 15 of those years in Davis.
Sharon loved life, and lived it with zest and vitality. Her life was a full and happy one and she was blessed with a richness of friends and family. She was employed as a secretary at the Woodland Memorial Hospital for more than 10 years, retiring in 1997. She touched the lives of all those she met and she will be sadly missed by her loved ones and friends.
Mrs. James is survived by her husband Jerry James of Davis; her sons, Kurt Miller and his wife Tina of LaPuente, Karl Miller of Sacramento, Larry James, Jerry James Jr. and his wife Becky and her daughters Karen James and Dawn Wendell and her husband Gary. Sisters surviving are Shirley Charlton and her husband Mel of Bullhead City, Ariz., Kristy Paul and her husband Ed and Kathy Ashton, all of Prescott, Ariz. Brothers are Michael McDole and his wife Delores of The Woodlands, Texas and Ronald McDole and his wife Beth of Forest Ranch. Sisters-in-law surviving are Janice Lange and her husband Bruce and Carole Spurlock and her husband Bill, all of Woodland; and brother-in-law, John James and his wife Linda of Shingletown. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Her stepmother, Kathryn McDole of Prescott, Ariz. also survives. Her mother in 1997 and her father in 1988 predeceased Sharon.
Visitation is scheduled at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004 from 5 to 7:30 p.m., friends and family are invited to attend. A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2004 at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Sharon's memory may be made to the Cancer Society of Northern California, 1765 Challenge Way, Sacramento, 95815.

Bernice I. Jameson
Bernice I. Jameson died Nov. 21, 2004 in Fullerton at age 91.
Mrs. Jameson was born Sept. 19, 1913 in Sutter to Richard and Aileen DeWitt. She had been a long-time resident of Woodland was retired from the Woodland Clinic.
Survivors include Mrs. Jameson's sons, C. Robert Jameson, Jr. of Costa Mesa and Richard Jameson of Seattle; her grandchildren, Tammi Harrington and her husband Steve of Fullerton, Tom Jameson and his wife Tiffany of Irvine, Traci Peoples and her husband Michael of Westerville, Ohio and Kelly Lopez and her husband Mike of Santa Rosa, Leanna Harper, Richard Jameson, Jack Jameson and Jill Maroney; her great-grandchildren, Patrick and Kenley Harrington, Jacob and Sara Jameson, Jessica, Matthew and Mackenzie Peoples, Melissa, Annalise and Jenna Lopez; her former daughter-in-law, Darlene Jameson Elliott; her brother, Frank "Golder" and her sister, Florence. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Jameson.
