Donnie "Don" Ray Jamison
Donnie "Don" Ray Jamison passed away peacefully at his Esparto home, surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, June 7, 2003. He was 50 years old, having been born in Stroud, Okla., on Aug. 23, 1952, to Freddie and Doris (Harrington) Jamison. Don had fought a courageous battle with cancer. He had been a Yolo County resident for the past 20 years.
Don was involved in the automotive business for the last 23 years of his life, and was the owner of Jamison Auto Center in Woodland. His family and friends remember him as an outstanding businessman who was community oriented, enjoyed people, greatly enjoyed his friends and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Yolo Fliers Country Club where he played often and shared time with his friends. His friends and associates will miss him dearly.
His wife of 17 years, Brenda (Gnoss) Jamison and their five-year-old daughter, Julia Jamison, survive Don. Also surviving are his sons, Justin Jamison and wife Nicole of Vacaville, and Corey Jamison of Yuba City. Other survivors are grandsons Kyle and Dillon Crabtree of Vacaville, Mr. Jamison's mother, Doris Jamison of Oklahoma, his sister, Sherry Kornahrens and husband Bob of Reno, Nevada, and a brother, Roger Jamison and wife Guenda of Yuba City. His wife's family, Joe and Nancy Gnoss of Woodland, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside committal service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland. Friend John Witham will be officiating. No visitation is scheduled prior to the service. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Jamison may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1401 Halyard Dr., W. Sacramento, Ca. 95691; or to Yolo County Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, Ca. 95617.

JANES
Dorothy Alma Janes
Dorothy Alma Janes, 76, died Wednesday at Eden Hospital in San Leandro. A native of Sacramento, she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society for Retarded Children and the Guinda Community Church.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Janes of San Lorenzo; a daughter, Harriet Hanson of Fresno; two sons, William Burns of Sacramento and Howard Janes of Rumsey; a brother, John Menke of Little River, and a sister, Margaret Coppinger of Sacramento.
Also surviving are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at McNary's Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m., with burial to follow in the Capay Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made as donations to the Ladies Aid Society for Retarded Children, 22801 Mission Blvd., Hayward, 94541.

JANSEN
Richard Jansen
Richard Jansen, Ph.D. died Oct. 21, 2000, at the UC Davis Medical Center after a battle with leukemia, secondary to Multiple Myeloma. He was 64.
In life, he was a psychotherapist, counselor, marathon runner and theater buff. A 3 1/2-year resident of Davis, he came here to live when his illness and the severe New York winters made apartment living impossible for him. Survived by his cousins, Michael and Steven Price, Robert Baum and Paula Winters, he is mourned also by his sister Cynthia Baldwin-Thanos with whom he lived in Davis, his old friends from the East Coast, colleagues and friends from the schools, and new friends, among them, Liese Fajardo, and many members of the Davis Comic Opera Company.
Funeral services and interment took place in New York on Oct. 27. Contributions in his memory may be made to the International Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Drive, Suite. 206, North Hollywood, CA 91607.
JARAMILLO
Willie Maxine Jaramillo
Willie Maxine Jaramillo died at her home in Knights Landing Sunday, April 3, 2005 at age 81.
Mrs. Jaramillo was born Feb. 26, 1924 in Mecca, Calif. to William and Mary Harrell Bryant. She had been a Yolo County resident for 35 years. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1942. She was a cook for 41 years, having worked at the Countryside Nursing Home in Woodland until 1960 then at the Elkhorn Station Restaurant until 1963.
Survivors include Mrs. Jaramillo's husband of 19 years, Juan Jaramillo of Knights Landing; her daughters, Gail Moreno of Los Angeles and Jerri Moody of Knights Landing; her sons, Steve Riley of Sacramento and Vince Moody of Paradise; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Tola Bryant of Woodland and her brother, Johnny Bryant of Sacramento. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Bryant.
The family requests memorials in Mrs. Jaramillo's name be directed to the Knights Landing Resource Center and Clinic.
Services: A vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, April 8 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 513 Locust St., Knights Landing. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at St. Paul's. Interment will be at the Knights Landing Cemetery on Road 102 in Knights Landing. Evergreen Funeral Service of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
JARED
Paul S. Jared Sr.
Paul S. Jared Sr., a former resident of Yolo County, died May 19, 2002, at his home in Booneville, Ark. He was 84.
He was a local resident from 1943 to 1970, during which time he worked for the Charlie Kearney family, Armco Steel Co. and Kaiser Aluminum and Steel Co.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche; and six children, Stan, Betty, Alban, Paul Jr., Ralph and Judy.
He is survived by four children, Adda Williams of Little Rock, Ark., Priscilla Huitt of Norman, Okla., Carolyn B. Morris of Booneville, Ark., and Hermann Jared of Davis; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon.
JARVIS
Irene Jarvis
Irene Jarvis died on Sept. 30, 1999, in Davis, California. Irene was born in Venice, California, on Nov. 25, 1912. She was 86 years old.
Mrs. Jarvis has lived in Missouri and South Dakota. In 1936, she marriage Clyde Jarvis, and in 1942, the couple moved to California, making their home in El Cerrito.
Mrs. Jarvis was a Girl Scout leader for eight years, and stayed in contact with her former Girl Scouts with a yearly reunion. She was a member of the El Cerrito Methodist Church. She worked at the El Cerrito and Kensington libraries from 1963 until her retirement in 1977. She then moved to Guinda.
While living in Capay Valley Mrs. Jarvis volunteered, one day a week, at the Esparto Library for 20 years. She also had a preschool story hour with the help of her friend Zuma, for 13 years, and was known as "Grandma Jarvis, " to the Valley residents. She was an active member of the Guinda Methodist Church.
Mrs. Jarvis was given the Capay Valley Volunteer award in 1996 by the MM Club for her many years of the pre-school story hour. In 1997, she was awarded the Maud Whaler award, presented by the San Francisco Girl Scout Council. In 1998, the Esparto School District presented her with the Volunteer Service Award.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde R. Jarvis, and her brother H.C. Eaton.
Mrs. Jarvis is survived by her daughters, May Gillham and her husband Don, of Guinda; Margy Harper and her husband, C Alden, of Vancouver, Washington, and Joan Carlson and her husband Richard, of San Diego. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m., at the Sunset View Cemetery in Berkeley, California. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held at the Guinda Methodist Church in Guinda on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m.
Memorial contributions are preferred to the Guinda Methodist Church. The Friends of the Esparto Library, P.O. Box 787, Esparto, California, 95627, or the American Cancer Society. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
JAVIER
Fernando Bautista Javier
Fernando Bautista Javier of Guadalupe passed away on Feb. 14, 2005 at the age of 92. Born on May 30, 1911 in Calero Morang, Rizal, Philippine Islands, he arrived in the US at the age of 16, where he worked for local farms and traveled up to Alaska seeking employment. In 1942 he joined the US Navy and served our country during World War II from 1942-1945. He later worked at Vandenberg Air Force Base until his retirement in 1978.
He is survived by his children: Louie Javier and wife Yolanda, Audrey Javier, Vickie Javier-Catalan and husband Norm, and Connie Ferreira and husband Alfonso. He also leaves grandchildren Connie Renee Gomez, Louie Lee Javier, Andrea and Carlos Avery, Jonathon, Christopher, and Mathew Catalan, and Yvette Ferreira. Great grandchildren are Tristen, Alyssa and Lauren Gomez. Mr. Javier also had many friends who will miss him.
Mr. Javier was preceded in death by his wife, Angelina Arias. He is survived by her children, Victor Hernandez, Bert Hernandez, Petra Rodriquez, Rudy Hernandez, Angelina Meza, Hortencia Gaines, and Eli Hernandez, and their children Anthony, Yvonne, and Christina Hernandez, Isaac and Karina Hernandez and Steven Gutierrez and Isaiah Gains.
A rosary and a funeral mass were celebrated and he was buried
in Guadalupe Cemetery with full military honors.
