Daniel P. AZEVEDO
Daniel P. Azevedo died in Woodland, on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at age 84.
Born on March 30, 1919, in King City, Mr. Azevedo had been a Yolo County resident for 65 years.
Survivors include five children, Daniel Azevedo Jr. of Washington, Pete Azevedo of Roseville, Benny Azevedo of Woodland, Rich Azevedo of Stockton, and Joe Azevedo of Woodland; 13 grandchildren, Raymond Azevedo, Carolann Azevedo, Lydia Azevedo Jr., Vanessa Azevedo, Aleksandra Azevedo, Brianna Azevedo, Ricky Azevedo, Nellana and Brian Carmody, Rick Tarr, Randy Tarr, Alysa Azevedo and Brandon Azevedo; and 10 great-grandchildren, Heaven Azevedo, Benjamin Joseph Ramirez, Izik Hernandes, Erica Carmody, Desirae Carmody, Chanel Tarr, Blake Tarr, Tiffany Tarr, MalaiaTarr and Mindy Tarr.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter Rita Azevedo.
Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel.
Services: A graveside interment is scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1, at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Woodland.
AZEVEDO
Mary S. Azevedo
Mary S. Azevedo passed away on Friday, Feb. 9, 2001 in Davis.
She was born Dec. 14, 1903 in St. George, Azores.
Mrs. Azevedo was a past member of the Altar Society at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Our Lady of Fatima Society of Dixon, U.P.P.E.C. and St. James Catholic Church in Davis.
A 54-year resident of Yolo County, she lived in Winters, Dixon, Davis and El Macero.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Azevedo and her brother, Joseph Silva.
She is survived by her goddaughter, Mary Avila of Palo Alto, her sister-in-law, Mary Azevedo of Guistine, her cousin, Manuel J. Silva and his wife, Deidre and their children of El Macero.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
All were invited to a time of visitation from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13 with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D Street, in Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, in Davis.
The burial took place in the Winters Cemetery.
Directions to the reception will follow the graveside prayers.

AZUAR
Angelo C. Azuar
Angelo C. Azuar died in San Diego Friday, May 3, 2002, at age 79.
Born July 3, 1922, in Yolo and raised in Vacaville, Mr. Azuar had been a resident of San Diego for the past four years.
He worked for 25 years as a custom homebuilder in the Vacaville area.
He built the first apartment complex in Vacaville.
He was an almond rancher in Capay Valley for 10 years.
He served in the U.S. Army in Japan during World War II and received an honorable discharge in November of 1946.
He was a 51 year member of Local 180, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Union and was awarded a lifetime membership.
Mr. Azuar is survived by his wife of nine years, Linda Azuar of San Diego; son, Larry Azuar of Reno, Nev.; granddaughter and husband, Wishar and Mike Walters of Fernley, Nev.; grandson, Angelo Azuar of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-granddaughter, Caren Walters of Fernley, Nev.; great-grandson, Derek Walters of Fernley Nev.; brother, Joe Azuar of Vallejo; brother and sister-in-law, Mariano and Margaret Azuar of Vacaville; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Gina Azuar of Sacramento; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elvera and Tony Billalon of Vacaville, and Eloisa and Jerry Trivitt of Vacaville.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marcella Azuar, in December 1980; and brother, Manuel Azuar, in December 1969.
A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m., Friday, May 10, at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville.
Inurnment will follow at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
McCune Garden Chapel of Vacaville is assisting the family with arrangements.
AZUAR
Jeffrey Lynn Azuar
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 18 at Corbus Field in Vallejo for police officer Jeffrey Lynn Azuar.
Mr. Azuar died on Wednesday, April 12, 2000 at Solano County Hospital.
He was 50 years old.
Born Dec. 14, 1949, he lived in Vallejo his entire life.
He was a police officer with the Vallejo Police Department for 21 years.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the United States Army.
Mr. Azuar is survived by his daughter, Amanda K. Azuar-Geller; father, Joseph C. and granddaughter, Ashlee Geller, all of Vallejo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie, in 1998 and his brother, Dennis, in 1987. Azuar was the grandson of Maria and Gregory Machado.

ALLEN
Charles Stuart Allen
Charles Stuart Allen of Davis died Aug. 6, 2005, at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, following a yearlong battle with two types of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was 77.
Born March 15, 1928, in Sandpoint, Idaho, his family moved to Oakland when he was young.
He graduated from University High School in 1946, where he played baseball and basketball.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps at the end of WWII and was discharged as a sergeant.
He then worked with his father as a mechanic at Acme Transportation in Richmond.
He marriage Lois Marie Kelly on Aug. 5, 1950, in Berkeley, and joined the California Highway Patrol as a civilian motor carrier specialist in 1965.
He and his family moved to Davis in 1969 following a promotion to CHP headquarters in Sacramento.
He retired in 1990 as commander of the motor carrier safety operations unit, after being with the CHP for 25 years.
He was one of the motor carrier specialists when the program was founded.
A Senate Rules Committee resolution was adopted in April 1990 commending his program's accomplishments.
He loved to play golf and travel, and belonged to the Davis Golf Course Men's Club, and to the Sacramento Branch of SIRS.
He and Lois enjoyed many trips throughout the United States especially traveling in their RV throughout the Northwest.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lois; son Ron Allen and wife Jacquie of Davis; daughter Diane Kathleen Walton of Woodland; sister Marguerite Eckles of Modesto; grandsons Ryan Allen of Davis and Curtis Asby and wife RoseMary of Fair Oaks; great-grandchildren Julia Asby, William Asby and Fiona Asby of Fair Oaks; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be private, followed by private family burial at the Davis Cemetery.
A casual gathering to celebrate his life will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Wildhorse Golf Course in Davis.

ALLEN
Howard H. Allen
Former Davis resident Howard Allen died May 16, 2005, in Herald. He was 98.
A memorial Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church, 1275 B St. in Davis.
A rosary begins at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Elk Grove.
Interment is private.
Born in Brockton, Mass., on Oct. 12, 1905, he was related to seven different families of the original Mayflower colony.
Graduating from Northeastern University in Boston, he received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
At the beginning of World War II, he was assigned to assist in the building of Camp Pendleton in 1942.
He received a Bronze Star for bravery in the liberation of the island of Guam.
A resident of Amador County after retiring from the U.S. Navy in 1966, he was involved in a number or organizations.
Besides the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, he was a member of the St. Andrew's Society, Loyal Scots and Mother Lode Scots.
U.S. civil service allowed him to travel extensively for the government, including Berlin in 1962, followed by Thailand and Vietnam during the Tet Offensive.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Allen; his sons, Hugh Allen and his wife Karen and Bert Allen and his wife Pat; and daughters Carolyn Duncan and her husband Alan and Susan Turpen and her husband Terry.
He is further survived by 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
