HANNAGAN

Burton Alton Hannagan

Burton Alton Hannagan of Woodland died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005 at age 84.

Mr. Hannagan was born March 25, 1921 in Hollister. He had been a Yolo County resident for 74 years. He was a cadet at the University of Minnesota majoring in physics and served in the U.S. Army Air Forces from 1942 to 1946. For 20 years he served as a building manager for Caltrans. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, did volunteer work for the Gibson Mansion and was a former member of the Woodland Elks Lodge and Kiwanis.

Survivors include Mr. Hannagan's wife 64 years, Lili "Lollie" A. Hannagan; his daughter, Susan "Puff" Hannagan; his granddaughter, Bridget Michael Lyss; his grandson, Thad Gabriel Ellis; his great-grandchildren, Brittany Haywood, Braden Lyss and Christian Lyss; and his sister Lynn Sperr. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and his parents, Ira and Nellie Hannagan.

Services: A prayer service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 at St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Woodland. Entombment will be at St. Joseph's Mausoleum. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

MAST

Walter F. Mast

Walter F. Mast, 74, of Oakland died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, in Rounsville Convalescent Hospital. Mr. Mast was born Nov. 10, 1928 in Esparto, Ca. where he was also raised. Walter was the son of Floris and Ruth (Walter) Mast. He attended Esparto schools, received his B.A. degree from California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland and his teaching credential from CSU Sacramento. He taught art for 34 years in the Moraga, California school district. He also taught in Germany for the U.S. Army Independent School System for two years in the 1950's. Mr. Mast was an accomplished artist, using 'oils' as his method of expression for his paintings. His work are currently being displayed and sold in studios and galleries throughout the San Francisco bay area. During the era of the Nixon presidency Walter's paintings were on display in the Western White House at San Clemente, Ca. He is noted for both his landscapes and religious paintings.

Surviving are his brother, Edward Mast and wife Marilyn of Esparto, his sister Wilma Stephens Hill and husband Jim of Oroville and long time friend Ray Lippincott of Oakland. Also surviving are nieces Alisa Stephens Jones and husband Ray of Granite Bay, Mary Stephens-Bell of Seattle, Martha Braaten and husband Gary of Oroville, Linda Souza and husband Dennis of Woodland, and Marcia Scott and husband Glen of Haines, Alaska; and his nephew John Mast and wife Laura of Woodland.

He was a member of the (Landmark-Buckeye) Masonic Lodge No. 195 of Esparto and was actively involved in the Alumni Association of the California College of Arts & Crafts. He was a contributor to environmental programs around the bay, and a member of the Vineyard Fellowship. He traveled extensively throughout the world and incorporated his experiences into his paintings and teachings.

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Capay Cemetery, Esparto, Ca. at 11 a.m., with Rev. Derrill Peabody officiating. Friends and family are invited to attend. A memorial service in Mr. Walter Mast's memory also will be held at 1 p.m., Sept. 21, 2003, at Highlands Country Club, Oakland, Ca.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Foundation, 10850 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, Ca. 90024; or the American Heart Association of California, 2007 'O' St., Sacramento, Ca. 95814. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.

BERMAN

Edward Phillip Berman

Edward Phillip Berman died in West Sacramento Monday, Sept. 13, 2004 at age 68.

Mr. Berman was born June 17, 1937 in Bronx, N.Y. to the late Harry and Florence Berman and had been a Yolo County resident for 33 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion and Senior American Legion Post 77 baseball team. He previously worked for Voice of America, Yolo County Sheriff's Department and All Phase Security.

Survivors include Mr. Berman's wife of 33 years Julie Berman, his daughters Margie Berman and Angela Martinez; son Jack Stevens and his wife June; grandchildren Alicia and Michael Hernandez, Matthew Howell, Stephanie Royer, Jayson Martinez, and Zachary Stevens; great-grandchildren Jazmin Hernandez, Aaliyah Brown, an unborn great-granddaughter; and his sister Lee Grosflan.

Services: Visitation is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20 at Calvary Chapel, 1580 Case Place, Woodland. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21 at Woodland Cemetery. Evergreen Funeral Services of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

HANSEN

Francis Hansen

Francis Hansen died at his home in Boswell, Okla. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004 at age 67.

Mr. Hansen was born Sept. 24, 1937 in Roscommon, Mich. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the Airborne Rangers and was a member of the VFW in Woodland. He was also a member of the New Life Family Church of Boswell, Okla.

Survivors include Mr. Hansen's wife, Carol Hansen; his daughters, Debra Moody and Dorothy Minear, both of Elverda; his son, David Stephen Hansen of Boswell; his mother, Helen Noetzli of Sacramento; his sisters, Virginia Minatre of Sacramento, Alice Tommes of Roscommon, Mich. and Linda Ayers of Great Falls, Mont.; his brothers Herb Hansen of Bodega Bay and Max Hansen of Sacramento; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Lorraine Hansen; his daughter, Laura Lynn Hansen; his father, Herb Hansen and his sisters, Dorothy Myas and Beverly Tubberville.

Services: Visitation was held Thursday, Oct. 28, at Miller and Miller Funeral Home, Boswell, Okla. A graveside service was scheduled for Friday, Oct. 29 at Restland Cemetery in Boswell, Okla. with Pastor Ron McKey and Pastor Rick Austin officiating. Miller and Miller Funeral Home of Boswell, Okla. is assisting the family with arrangements.

TRUJILLO

Alex Gerardo Trujillo

Alex Gerardo Trujillo died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at his home in Sacramento. Born Dec. 8, 1966, in Puerto Montt, Chile, he was 37 years old.

The son of a political refugee from Chile, he came to the United States at age 9 and attended elementary, junior high and high schools in Davis, graduating in 1986. At the time of his death, he was in the process of completing his accounting degree at Consumnes River College in Sacramento. He also had a passion for history, photography and human rights issues, his family said.

Trujillo is survived by his parents, Carlos and Edith Amanda Trujillo of Sacramento; his sister Marcela, brother-in-law Ron, and nieces Nicole Rose and Amanda Rae, all of Stockton. He also is survived by several relatives in Puerto Montt and La Calera, Chile.

Memorial service arrangements are still being made and will be announced at a later date.

The family asks that contributions in Trujillo's name be directed to the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California, 1624 Franklin St., Suite 900, Oakland, CA 94612; or at www.epilepsynorcal.org.

WEATHERS

Ronald "Ron" E. Weathers

Ronald "Ron" E. Weathers died in his Rogue River, Ore. home Monday, April 5, 2004, at age 42.

Born Dec. 15, 1961, Mr. Weathers was a native of Woodland. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years until his honorable discharge on April 11, 1985. He marriage Wendy Marques on March 4, 1984 at Lake Tahoe. They moved to Southern Oregon in 1995 from Santa Rosa. For the past year, he worked for Pacific Power as a Journeyman Sub Station foreman. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 659, NRA.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy Weathers of Rogue River; parents, David and Norma Weathers; and brother, Steven Weathers, all of Eagle Point.

The family requests memorials be directed to NRA Processing Center, P.O. Box 420648, Palm Coast, Fla., 32142-0648; or to World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty-Fourth St., NW P.O. Box 97180, Washington, D.C., 20090-7180. Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives of Oregon assisted the family with arrangements.

Services: Services were held April 9, at Reese Creek Christian Center, with Rev. Thomas Reimer officiating. Interment will be held at Antioch Cemetery in Central Point.

TRUFFINI

Betsy McCollough Truffini

Betsy McCollough Truffini, beloved mother of Phoebe Truffini Payne and Georgia Demetre Wallace, died on Dec. 27, 2002, at the age of 90. She was born on Nov. 14, 1912, in Sante Fe, N.M. She was raised in Alhambra and graduated with a degree in philosophy from UC Berkeley in 1931.

She moved to Davis in 1938 where she worked in the registrar's office at UC Davis. She and her husband Joe Truffini were marriage in 1943, after he returned from World War II. They owned and operated the local Pontiac dealership and then built Truffini's Flying A Service Station at Fourth and G streets. In 1948 and 1949, they adopted their daughters Phoebe and Georgia.

She was a lifetime member of PTA, a 4-H leader, a deacon in the Davis Community Church, a member of the Tremont Church Mite Society, a founder of the Davis Travelaires, a member of the Davis Parks and Recreation Commission and a member of the Davis Chamber of Commerce. She and her husband were instrumental in the building of the new Davis Senior Center. In 1980, she was honored as the Citizen of the Year.

She worked at the university, managing the Freeborn Hall Box office, from 1960 to 1983. She also wrote a column called Senior Smiles for The Davis Enterprise for many years.

She is survived by daughters Phoebe Truffini Payne of Modesto and Georgia Demetre Wallace of Sacramento. Granddaughters Jennifer and Elizabeth Payne also survive her.

A memorial service will be at the Davis Community Church at 11 a.m. Saturday. A celebration of her life will follow the service. Interment will be private.

Remembrances may be sent to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or the Davis Senior Center for "special projects."

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.
