Frank Jim Zuniga
Frank Jim Zuniga passed away at Napa, Ca. on Monday, May 19, 2003, after an extended illness. He was 73 years old. Mr. Zuniga was born in Chino, Ca. on Oct. 17, 1929, and had been a Yolo County resident for more than 30 years.
Mr. Zuniga completed his schooling and then joined the United States Army, enlisting in Sacramento and later cross-branched in the United States Navy. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict where he received the Korean Occupation Forces Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Asian Expeditionary Forces Medal. Returning to the United States, he was discharged in San Francisco and returned to Yolo County to begin working for Half Moon Produce Company where he remained for 25 years.
He is fondly remembered by his friends as the "Mexican Willie Nelson" for his love of music and style of dress. He was an avid fisherman, loved horseback riding and shepherding, and attended every rodeo he could.
Mr. Zuniga is survived by his daughter Stella Wilson, Cecilia Coronado and husband Jose, Helen Zuniga, and his son, James Zuniga and wife Mary, all of Woodland. Grandchildren surviving include Marcos and Esteban Coronado, Sanisha, Dominique and Shanel Wilson, and Alicia, Zachary, Nicholas, Lucas and Joel Zuniga, all of Woodland; sisters, Mary Torres of Roseville, Margaret Bailon of Rocklin and Carmen Tromontini and husband Mario of Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
A prayer vigil will be held for Mr. Zuniga on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at 7 p.m., at Kraft Bros. Funeral Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. Deacon Ed Kull will be officiating. Friends and family are invited to attend. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland on Monday, June 2, 2003, at 1 p.m. Interment of his cremated remains will follow the mass, at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Donations in memory of Mr. Zuniga may be made to the charity of donor's choice.

HUNEKE
Elizabeth M. Huneke
Elizabeth M. Huneke died on Dec. 2, 1999 of congestive heart failure at age 81. Mrs. Huneke and her late husband, Kenneth, lived in Golden Bear estates for 20 years before their retirement from their plumbing and heating business in Berkeley. Following surgery earlier this year, Mrs. Huneke resided in a nursing facility in Davis, and later in Marin County.
Mrs. Huneke was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. With her husband, she was a member of Pioneer Presbyterian Church, and they helped build the Community Center and complete various projects in the Winters Fire Department. They were a familiar sight at the Davis Farmers' Market where they sold citrus products raised on their farm.
Mrs. Huneke devoted her life to raising her family and working in the family businesses. Before retiring to Winters, Mrs. Huneke was the office administrator, bookkeeper and secretary for the family business for 30 years. During that time she was active in First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley, Soroptimist International and a variety of civic and professional organizations.
Mrs. Huneke is survived by her son, Douglas Huneke, and his wife, Jane, of Tiburon; daughter, Christine Lindeman and her husband, Robert, of Winters; granddaughter, Karen Ott, and sons-in-law, Timothy; grandsons, Luke and Grant Lindeman and Jason Huneke; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Ott; and sister, Alma Kelsey.
A private family service of Thanksgiving and remembrance was held on Dec. 5 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Tiburon. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 240 Tiburon Boulevard, Tiburon, CA 94920, or the Winters Fire Department, 10 Abbey Street, Winters, CA 95694.
TRUITT
Olan "Bud" Truitt
Olan "Bud" Truitt died in his home Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004. Born in Kingfisher, Okla. to the late John and Bessie Truitt. He was preceded in death by his loving wife "Lil, " who passed away Dec. 4, 1995.
Bud was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He received three medals upon his discharge in 1945. Bud was also a member of the Woodland Lodge No. 156 F. & A.M. and Ben Ali Shrine, where he rode a motorcycle in the parades dressed as a clown. Bud worked as a mechanic and welder for more than 30 years and delivered equipment for Amoz Metz Rentals.
Survivors include sisters, Evelyn Conley and her husband Ralph of Woodland and Mildred Cox of El Reno, Okla. Brother, Blackie Truitt and his wife Thelma of Woodland. Sons, William Truitt and his wife Deb of Woodland and Ed Truitt and his wife Julie of Carmichael. Grandchildren, Eddie, Ben, Gabe and Alex Truitt and great-granddaughter, Stacey.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Dec. 10 at McNary's Chapel at 2 p.m.

WEATHERS
Steven Dwayne Weathers
Steven Dwayne Weathers died at his home in Eagle Point, Ore. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005 at age 47.
Mr. Weathers was born Dec. 30, 1957 in Woodland to David E. and Norma Jean Weathers. He served in the U.S. Army for three years as a military policeman and was a member of Reese Creek Church in Eagle Point, Ore.
Survivors include Mr. Weathers' wife of nine years, Cleda Kay Arnold of Eagle Point, Ore., his ex-wife, Glenda Hubert-Alexander of Woodland; his daughter, Christina Cormack and her family stationed at Fort Wainright, Alaska; his son, Steven Dwayne Weathers-Alexander stationed at Fort Wainright, Alaska; his stepchildren; five grandchildren; his parents, David E. and Norma Jean Weathers and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Weathers.
Services: A memorial service was held Feb. 26 in Eagle Point. Interment was at Antioch Cemetery in Sams Valley.
WEAVER
Brenda Lee Weaver (1st of 2 obits.)
Brenda Lee Weaver died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005 at age 52. She was born in Woodland to Arthur and Otsie Weaver.
Brenda worked as a waitress at the Ranch Kitchen in Woodland from 1978 to 1994. At the time of her death, she was working at the Merc Market in Placitas, New Mexico.
Brenda was known for her deep love for her family and strong work ethic. Those that knew Brenda loved her, for she was always kind to and willing to help her friends.
Brenda is survived by son, Arthur Buntin, daughter-in-law Belen Buntin, daughter Catrina Degen and son-in-law Tony Degen; grandchildren, Sebastian, Carlos, Johnny, Myra and John. Brenda leaves behind her sisters Mary Hicks and Ella Hernandez.
Brenda was fortunate to have spent her last days near family and friends where she was happy and loved. Services were held Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4 NW Albuquerque, N.M. Brenda will be laid to rest at Monument Hill Memorial Park in Woodland.
Brenda will always be remembered for the unconditional love she held for her family.

BARTH
Roy Barth
Mr. Roy Barth was born in Long Beach on April 28, 1916 and was 89 years old when he died on June 17, 2005.
Living in Yolo County for 48 years, and a resident of Winters when he passed away, he was a farmer his entire life.
He graduated from Hollywood High School and served as commissioner of Madison Fire District for 38 years.
He was the director of the Yolo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District for 35 years.
For 18 years he was the Director of Association of California Water Agencies( ACWA and ACWA/JPIA).
He was a member and vice president of Sacramento Valley Westside Canal Association for 13 years, and a member of Yolo County Resources Board.
Mr. Barth was a member of the California Farm Bureau and Vice President of the Los Angeles County Farm Bureau.
For 16 years he was a member of District #4 California Sugar Beet Growers Association and for 10 years he was the Director of Antelope Valley Soil Conservation District.
Mr. Barth is survived by his wife of 66 years, Catherine Louise DuBois Barth, his daughter, Mary Louise Barth of Concord, sons, Alfred LeRoy Barth of Woodland, Stanley Lowell Barth of Esparto, Steven Glenn Barth of Boise, and Thomas William Barth and Robert Carl Barth, both of Winters.
He is also survived by his brother Arthur Barth of Lancaster.
He leaves 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
His grandchildren are Erin Barth of Sacramento, Andreas Barth of Sacramento, Tirzah Barth of Rio Vista, Todd Barth of Davis, Tyson Barth of Virginia, Bjorn Barth of Woodland, Katie Wright of Woodland, T. J. Wright of Woodland, Jennisah Barth of Winters, and Eric, Evan, Connor and Neil Barth of Winters.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward C. Barth and Elizabeth A. Barth, and his sisters, Ann Moore, Corrine Wilson, and Elma Waite.
There will be a vigil for Mr. Barth at 7 p.m. on June 23, at McNary’s Chapel in Woodland, and a funeral mass at 11 a.m. on June 24 at Holy Rosary Church with Michael McFadden officiating. Burial will be at Cottonwood Cemetery immediately following mass.

LEA
James "Jim" S. Lea
James "Jim" S. Lea died in Woodland Memorial Hospital Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at age 76.
Born March 2, 1927, in Milan, Minn., Mr. Lea had been a Woodland resident for about 40 years. He was the son of the late Sam and Clara Mathilda (Olson) Lea. Survivors include his brother, Donald Lea and wife Lorraine of Irvine; niece, Sandra Namba of Las Vegas, Nev.; nephews, Barry Lea and wife Janet of Seattle, Wash., Jeffrey Lea and wife Jean of Mountain View, and Randy Lea and wife Mitzi of Carlsbad; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane (Christen) Lea.
