Klaus (Claude) Schultz
Klaus Schultz, a retired professor at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, died on Feb. 9, 2000, at his home. Born on May 8, 1935, in Romania, to Herbert B. and Ilse (Goldschmidt) Schultz, he was 64.
He had been at U Mass since 1968. He was a professor in the School of Education when he retired in 1998.
Schultz grew up in Davis, where he attended local schools and received his degrees, including his doctorate, from UC Davis.
He was an avid bicyclist and skier. He was a member of the American Association of University Professors and also was active in various physics and education societies. He was a recipient of the Kappa Delta Pi teaching award.
He leaves his wife, Shirley (Provost) Schultz; a stepson, Christopher Brown of Atlantic City. N.J.; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Borden of Asheville, N.C.; a brother, Peter Schultz of Virginia Beach, Va.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sunday at the Unitarian Society of Northampton.

NICKEL
Barbara Jean Nickel
Barbara Jean Nickel died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at age 77.
Born Nov. 2, 1926, in Iowa, Mrs. Nickel had been a Yolo County resident for 20 years.
Survivors include her husband, Red Nickel of Woodland; sister, Pat Lazer and husband Alan; children, Sandra Ottarson, Richard and Cathy Peterson, Charles Peterson of Woodland, Richard and JoAnn Gray of Lincoln, Brian and Debbie Eads of Littleton, Colo., Bill and Arlene Nickel of Woodland and Gary and Noma Spencer of Willows; grandchildren, John and Stachia, Mike and Sue Smith, Max and Sandy Craig, Robert and Effie Craig, Les and Denise Robinson, Annie Ottarson, John and Terase Peterson, James and Alisa Peterson, Jeff Peterson, D.J. Perry, all of Woodland, Joe and Tina Kelly of Lincoln, Larry and Regina Liggons of Clarkton, Mo., Bobbie Eads and Brian Eads Jr. of Littleton, Colo. and Billy Jo Madderra; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services: Respecting the wishes of Mrs. Nickel no services were held.
O'KANE
Linda S. O'Kane
Linda Sue O'Kane died Dec. 26, 2000, in her Davis home. She was 52.
Born Aug. 29, 1948, in Modesto, O'Kane received her bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Evergreen State College in Washington and her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Sacramento State.
O'Kane grew up in Central California and moved to Davis about 10 years ago. She had worked as a school nurse at Greengate School in Yolo County.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albury Zech. She is survived by her husband of eight years, John O'Kane of Davis; her mother, Mayola Zech of Antioch; and her two brothers, Michael Zech of Las Vegas and Patrick Zech of Reno.
A graveside service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Davis Cemetery, 820 Pole Line Road. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the Grace Valley Christian Center, 27173 County Road 98 in Davis. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.
GALINDO
Robert George Limón Galindo
Robert G. Limón Galindo passed away suddenly due to an automobile accident in Sacramento Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004 at age 22. Robert was born in Sacramento June 2, 1982 to Elizabeth (Galindo) Limón of Woodland and Jorge Gonzalez Limón of Jalisco, Mexico.
Robert grew up in the Sacramento area, attending Harriet Eddy Middle School and Laguna Creek High School, where he graduated in 2000. Continuing his education at the junior college level, he was employed as a customer representative for Downy Savings and Loan of Sacramento and was extremely active in sports. "Bobby" liked fishing at Elk Grove Park and as far away as Key West, Fla.; loved water skiing at Comanche Lake and snow skiing at snow boarding at Mt. Donner or Sierra Ski Ranch. While in middle school he began wrestling, which he continued at Laguna Creek High School. It was in high school when he began playing soccer and was active with the Stampede Soccer Team of Elk Grove where he lived with his family. Whether it was riding BMX bikes, mountain bikes, dirt bikes or four-wheeling, he enjoyed the sport and rode in Los Gatos, San Francisco, the Cache Creek area and Prairie City. As an avid outdoorsman, he was fond of camping at the Ice House and Comanche Lake area. Robert most enjoyed the times he spent with his family and friends, raising his Red Devil Fish and is remembered by all as enjoying a good barbecue, or eating his favorite seafood or Mexican dishes. He will be greatly missed by his mother, brother, father and his extended family and friends as well as "Napoleon, " his beloved dog.
Robert is survived by his mother, Elizabeth (Galindo) Limón and his brother, Daniel Joseph Limón of Elk Grove and his father, Jorge Gonzalez Limón of Sacramento. His grandparents, Jose and Elisa Galindo and Antonio and Margarita Limón, all of Woodland; his aunts, Ana Ruelas, Margarita Ruiz, Silvia Contreras, Vickie Limón and Patty Espinosa, all of Woodland and his uncles, Gabriel Limón, Sergio Limón, and Omar Limón, all of Woodland, Antonio Limón of Phoenix, Felipe Limón of Davis, Jesse Galindo and his wife Sandi of Woodland and Jim Galindo and his significant other Anne Bernath of Fostoria, Ohio survive him also. "Bobby" leaves behind many cousins and friends who share a special love for him.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 18 at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, Friday, Nov. 19 at noon with Father Juan Pérez officiating. Interment will immediately follow the Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 6700 21st Ave., Sacramento.

SCHROEDER
Maudene Schroeder
A memorial service for Maudene Schroeder, 83, a long-time resident of Dixon, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at the Dixon Community Church.
The Rev. West Nordman will officiate. Inurnment will be private.
Born Aug. 10, 1916, in Sacramento, she graduated from McMinnville High School in Oregon and returned to Sacramento live until her marriage to Roy Schroeder. After raising her three sons, she worked for the Dixon Public Library and then as a bookkeeper for Weaver Tractor Co. until her retirement.
She enjoyed genealogy, history, reading, traveling, playing canasta and collecting dolls. She was a member of Grange, Eastern Star and the historical societies of Dixon, Sacramento, Solano County and Oregon.
Mrs. Schroeder also loved to dance and she and her husband were charter members of the Dixon Dance Club.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Kathy of Winters, Sydney and Diane of Dixon, and Kurt L. of Lodi; a brothers, Clarence (Casey) Parker of Morgan Hill; grandchildren, Herman, Michelle, Kim, Shaun and Kristen Schroeder and Karie and Buddy Herlinger; and two great-grandchildren, Roy and Jacob Schroeder.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Roy, and her brother, Dr. Lewis Parker.

SCHULER
Ann Madeline (Bueri) Schuler
Ann Madeline (Bueri) Schuler died at Woodland Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at age 97.
Born Feb. 23, 1906, in Dixon, Mrs. Schuler had been a Yolo County resident for 55 years. She attended Dixon Day school. She was a homemaker and dairy person for 70 years. She owned a dairy in Woodland. She was a member of the Western Dairy Association.
Survivors include her son, Herbert Schuler and wife Marlene of Woodland; daughter, Annie Wantz and husband Richard of Lodi; grandchildren, Laurie Flynn and husband Tom, Kathy Henderson and husband Dave, Steven Schuler and wife Trish, all of Woodland, and Crystal Graham and husband Mike of Lodi; great-grandchildren, Johnny and Joey Graham of Lodi, Claire Henderson and Matthew Schuler of Woodland; and sister, Julia (Bueri) Lienau of Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Schuler, in 1961; sisters, Josephine Brown, Elizabeth Bueri, Katherine Howell; and brother, John Bueri; as well as her parents, John and Catherine (Ricci) Bueri.
The family requests memorials be directed to charity of donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: A vigil service is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Monday Feb. 23, at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St. A Catholic funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland, with a burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Woodland.
O'KEEFE
James Michael O'Keefe
James Michael O'Keefe died in Davis on Jan. 28, 2005. He was 51.
A graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Davis Cemetery, 820 Pole Line Road.
Born Aug. 31, 1953, in Butte, Mont., he lived in Yolo County for 44 years. He worked as a salesman for Dunn Edwards Paint Co. for 18 years.
He is survived by his parents, James and Sarah O'Keefe of Davis; his sisters, Colleen Perry and Sarah O'Keefe; and his brothers, John O'Keefe and his wife Victoria of Rio Linda, and Paul O'Keefe and his wife Kirsten of Pleasanton.
He is further survived by his nephews, Christopher and David.
The family requests that donations be made to Yolo Hospice. The family wishes to thank the staff of Sierra Health Care Convalescent Hospital for their excellent care.
