WARD: Doug
Suddenly on Thursday April 24, 2003, at his home, Doug Ward in his 74th year of Fergus. Beloved husband of Judy Howse. Loving Father of Bill and his wife Joan of Guelph, Brian and his wife Blanche of R.R. #2 Arthur and Venetta and her best friend Tom Scott of Conn. Lovingly survived by 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Doug is survived by his brothers Bruce and his wife Shirley, Lloyd, and Gerald and his wife Wilma, his sister-in-law Marion and a number of nieces and nephews. Doug will be sadly missed by a number of brother and sister-in-laws and a host of other family members. Predeceased by his brother Wally.
Friends and relatives may call at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 37 Church St., Elora, on Sunday April 27th, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at Bethany United Church on Monday April 28th, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Sparling and Rev. Mann officiating. Followed by cremation. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Bethany United Church or Groves Memorial Hospital as expressions of sympathy. Cards are available at the funeral home, 846-5352.

REDWOOD, M. EDNA (nee Draper)
Following a brief illness on Friday July 5th, 2002 at the Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Edna Redwood of Guelph formerly of Fergus in her 88th year, passed away as she slept and has gone to be with her heavenly Father. Beloved wife of James (Jim) Redwood of Guelph formerly of Fergus. Loving mother of Doreen and her husband Dave Hammond of Elora, Stan and his wife Inez of Inverhaugh and Barry and his wife Donna of Elora. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Heather, Gary, Steve, Tracey, Lisa, Chris and Kelly and great grand children Corey, Shauna, Jaclyn, Dana, Alyssia, Wyatt, Whitney, Taylor, Tye, and Breanna. Edna is survived by her sister in law Dorothy Redwood of Cambridge (Galt), and brother in law Richard Upcraft of Walkerton. Edna is lovingly remembered by a number of family members and a host of friends. The family will receive their friends at the GRAHAM A. GIDDY FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 280 ST. DAVID ST. S. FERGUS. From 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Sunday July 7th.Funeral service will be conducted at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 210 Silvercreek Parkway N. Guelph, Ont. On Monday July 8th, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. With Rev. Dr. Jon Fogleman officiating at the service. Interment will be held at the Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus. Remembrances to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Groves Memorial Community Hospital or charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.

Dixon: Effie
passed away on Saturday July 27th, 2002, at the Wellington Terrace in Elora, Ont., at the age of 85 years. Effie Elizabeth Taylor, loving wife of the late "Ted" Frederick E. Dixon (1994). Dear mother of Shirley Small and her friend Webb Lyle of Fergus and Wayne Dixon and his wife Jill of Harriston. Loving grandmother of Tim Small and Julie Lopers and her husband George; Derrick, Kim and Karen Dixon. Devoted great grandmother of Lindsay and Bryce Lopers and Matthew, Lance and Ashley Small. Also survived by her sister, Louise Newbigging of Listowel and sisters-in-law Christine Taylor of Fergus and Doreen Dixon of Listowel. She was predeceased by her parents, Wm. A. Taylor and Florence Evans; two brothers Alfie and Bill; one sister Lilyan Denstedt and her son-in-law Ross Small.
Effie was born on August 23, 1916 at Peffers-Mornington township in Perth County. On April 11, 1936 she and Ted were married and farmed at North Mornington until 1956 when they moved to Fergus. Effie always had a strong desire to become a nurse. In 1957, at the age of 41, she began her career as a registered nursing assistant at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. There, she gave excellent care to all her patients until her retirement in 1979. She moved to Highland Manor in 1997 where she resided for four years. In November 2001, she moved to the Wellington Terrace due to deteriorating health.
Effie was truly a great lady who was loved by all who knew her.
"There is a bridge of memory from here to heaven above,
That keeps you very close to us, it's called the bridge of love."
Friends and relatives may call at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. S., Fergus today (Monday) from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday July 30, 2002 at 2:00. Mr. Ray Pearse officiating. Interment in Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus. A reception will follow in the Wellington Room of the funeral home. Treleaven, Eleanor Mae (Jones) - Went to be with her lord and Saviour peacefully at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus, on Monday , August 26, 2002, in her 52nd year. Beloved wife of Robert. Loving and loved mother of Paula Wellman and her husband Michael of Waterloo and Douglas Treleaven of Fergus. Cherished daughter of Norman and Elsie Jones of West Luther. Dear sister of Harold and his wife Barbara of Arthur. She was a special aunt of Scott, Jason, and Mark Jones. Dear daughter-in-law of Clarence and Marjorie Treleaven of Arthur. The family will receive visitors at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel 280 St. David Street, South , Fergus on Wednesday , August 28th, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be celebrated Thursday , August 29th, 2002 at Northside Baptist Church, Waterloo at 11 am. Interment at Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus.

HAMILTON, ELGIN. On Saturday August 9th, surround by his family at the Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus Elgin passed away peacefully in his 58th year. Loving and devoted husband of Marlene (Levely) for 36 years. Survived by his children Lisa and fiancée Barry, Lori and friend Duane, Stephen and wife Leeanne. Loving grandfather of Jordan, Cody, Michael, Joseph, Hannah and Sydny. Dear brother of Marilyn and husband Jack, Judy and husband Brian and Larry. Dear friend of Jake Van Ankum who was like a brother to Elgin. Pre-deceased by his parents Nellie and Lloyd Hamilton, brother Arnold, sister in law Frieda and parent in laws Bob and Flo Levely, brother in law Dave Flewelling. Elgin was in his 28th year of employment at Better Beef and will be sadly missed by everyone he worked with. Former co-owner of the Elora True Value. K9 companions Buddy, Taz and Ginger will sadly miss him. Elgin is survived by many other family members and friends. He touched everyone's life he came in contact with. Fankhauser, Emil (Mike)
passed away peacefully at groves memorial community hospital, Fergus on July 5, 2003 in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Doreen Dorothy (Ryan) of Elora. Loving father of Andrew, Mathew, Kim, Robert, Marlene, Shirley, Wendy, Cynthia, Susan, and Lori-Ann. Dear grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. STONE: Ethel (nee Atkison)
Peacefully at Palmerston District Hospital on Friday January 10th, 2003 in her 99th year. Dear wife of the late Clarence Stone (1969). Ethel was a longtime member of the Elora United Church and a lifetime member of the U.C.W. She was also a longtime member of the Rebekah Lodge #235. Lovingly remembered by her son Elwood Stone and his wife Dorothy of London. Sadly missed by her sister Nellie Payne of Regina, Sask. Grandma will be missed by Linda Gingerich and her husband Tim of London, Gail Kwasek and her husband Steve of London and Cindy Regan and her husband Dennis of Mount Carmel. Great grandmother of Erin and Chris Gingerich, Courtney and Josh Stoddart and Carrington and Kathryn Regan. Predeceased by her sister Gertrude Foster and her brother James Atkison.

ROBINSON: Eugene
Passed swiftly and painlessly at his home the morning of Thursday September 12th, 2002, in his 85th year. He will be deeply missed by his son Doug (Elizabeth) and daughters Linda Archibald and Freda-Marie Robinson-Abercrombie (Doug Abercrombie), his grandchildren Laura Josephson (John Josephson), Deborah Archibald (Malcolm Robb), Cynthia Ford (Richard Ford), Andrew, Fraser (Sarah) and his great grandchildren Sara, Kelly, Daniel, Kathryn, Ava, Cameron and Alexander. Predeceased by his wife Freda (1989), his son Brian (1989) and his sister Beryl Fawkes (1984).
Friends and relatives may call at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. S., Fergus, on Sunday September 15, 2002, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday September 16, 2002 at 11:00 AM. Cremation. Eugene will be laid to rest at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Cemetery, Markham alongside his wife Freda and son Brian. STEVENSON, EULAH F.
In Fergus, Thursday April 10th, 2003. Eulah Fern Stevenson of Fergus 8 days before her 102 birthday. Survived by niece Sandra Stevenson and nephews Don, Bob and his wife Susan, and Jim Stevenson. Also grand nieces Catherine and her husband Adam and Gwen and one great grand nephew Lukas and cousin Dr. Glen Mumford. Predeceased by her parents Margaret and James Stevenson brothers and sisters in law Evan and his wife Eva, Clare and his wife Myrtle and Bert and his wife Bea and infant brother James Clayton. Member for 88 years and choir member for 68 years of Wesley Methodist and Melville United Churches in Fergus. Special thanks to the staff at Caressant Care Nursing Home

Dear sister of Leonard Marion and his wife Doris, Kay Lawrence and her husband Al, Helen Whittaker and her husband Paul and Fred Clack and his wife Mary. Survived by several nieces and nephews. passed away at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, in Fergus on Friday November 29, 2002 following a courageous fight with cancer. Evelyn Curtis of Fergus, formerly of East Garafraxa, in her 84th year. Loving mother of Joyce and husband Dan Flewelling of Guelph, Lloyd and his wife Judy of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Lois Sigurdson and Garth Somers, of Kelowna B.C., Ralph and his wife Carla of Kamloops B.C. ,Brian and his wife Brendalee of Orton, and Glenn of Fergus, and daughter-in-law Terri Holden of Orangeville. Loved by 15 grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Lindsay Curtis and her son James Allan (1984) her parents George Edward, and Hannah Minnie Drury and brother Oscar Drury. Friends will be received at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel 280 St. David Street, South, Fergus on Saturday November 30, 2002 from 7-9 P.M. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
