passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Friday, September 23, 2005. Rita (Williams) Pearson at the age of 83 years. Beloved wife of the late George Pearson (1994) (former Sargent of the Guelph Police Service). Loving mother of Wayne Pearson (Maureen) of Barrie, Sharon Sanvido (Ray), Brian Pearson (Denise Farr) and Georgina Kostal, all of Guelph. Cherished grandmother of Paul Kostal, Laura Kostal (Don Vincent), Stacy Parker (Kent), Phil Pearson (Julie), Denise Buckley (Mike), Christa Sanvido (Chad Breyer) and Kelly Pearson (Brian Willsie). Special great-grandmother of Haley, Maiya, Monet, Owen, Kevin, Destiny, Riley and Parish. Fondly remembered by Teresa Pearson and Rita’s brothers, Harry Williams and Ron Williams (Minnie), all of Guelph. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 1 to 3 pm Monday). Margaret Furlong
passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Friday, September 23, 2005 at the age of 81 years. Dear sister of Mary Furlong of Toronto, Catherine Redmond of Dundalk and Clare Kirkham and her husband, Jack of Guelph. Always remembered by her nieces and nephews. William Henderson
passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 20, 2005. William Henderson at the age of 84 years. Loving husband of Lisa. Loved father of Larry Henderson of Guelph. Dear brother of Marg Peters and her husband, Walter of Bethlehem, PA, Jean Worral and her husband, John of Niagara Falls, Marilyn Kozak and her husband, George of Coldwater and the late Bud Henderson. Peacefully at Bethany Lodge West, Toronto on Thursday, October 13, 2005. Alex entered into the presence of his Lord and Saviour at the age of 96 years. Beloved husband of the late Jean (Ramsay) Reynolds (1996). Loving father of Robert Reynolds and his late wife, Susan; Anne Wilson and her husband, Dan; Gordon Reynolds and his wife, Claire. Loving grandfather to Craig and Margaret Reynolds, Glenn and Susan Reynolds and Kent Wilson. Great-grandfather of Alli, Bridget, Chelsey, Lindsay and Meredith. Dear brother of Robert, Betty, Peggy and Frank of Glasgow, Scotland. Fondly remembered and sadly missed by his extended family; the Mallochs, the Dales and the Maddens. Lillian Roe
passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. Lillian (Quartus) Roe at the age of 81 years. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Charles “Chuck” Roe (1989). Loved mother of C. Terrence Roe of Guelph, Brian W. Roe and his wife, Jori of Lucan, Cheri Roe of Kitchener and Lori Roe of Guelph. Sadly missed by her grandchildren; Brian, Lisa, Stefanie, Michael and Caitlyn. Great-grandma of Colin, Julia, Jacob, Paige, Tessa, Jessica, Joshua, Lillyanna, Summer and Aiden. Predeceased by her brother, Dalton and sister, Helen. Lillian was a proud supporter of Sunrise Equestrian and Recreation Centre. passed away at her home in Edmonton on Thursday, October 13, 2005. Lu (Stride) Simpson at the age of 81 years. Beloved wife of the late Russ “Bud” Simpson (1999). Dear mother of Sharon Matthews and her husband Ray of Haliburton, Art and his wife Marian of Harriston, Russ and his wife Terrie of Winnipeg, Manitoba and the late Elaine Dunk. Loved grandma of Jeff, David, Trish, Paul, Tracy, Doug, Ernie, Michael and Charmissa. Always remembered by her many great-grandchildren and her son-in-law, Ernie Dunk. Dear sister of Fred Stride and Gord Stride, both of Guelph, the late Arthur Stride, Jack Stride and Audrey Melancon. Lu served with the CWAC during WWII. Kreller (Moffit), Irene Mae (Formerly of West Garafraxa and Fergus) at the Guelph General Hospital, Guelph on Wednesday, October 19, 2005. Irene Mae (Clark) Kreller at the age of 82 years. Beloved wife of the late George Kreller. Loving mother of Russ Moffit of Sarnia, Barry Moffit (Eileen) of Guelph, Lorraine Pine of Toronto and Joyce Campbell of Brampton. Loved grandma of Terry Hadaway (John), Ella Moffit, Cathie and Beth Pine and her 6 great grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by Herb Morrison. Step-mother of Don Kreller and Sharon Clarke. Dear sister of Edith Bowman of Elora, Marian Gregson of Guelph, Marj Hamilton (Doug) of Winnipeg, Ron (Doris) Clark and Wilfred (Marion) Clark all of Elora and the late Doris (Green) Tobobandung, Alvin, Bert, Art and Les Clark. Irene worked hard all of her life to singlehandedly raise her 4 children by providing homecare on her own and with the VON. She will be remembered for her great love of fishing, card playing and knitting. Cotter, Isabel Helen Elizabeth
at the Guelph General Hospital on Saturday, October 22, 2005. Isabel (Evans) Cotter at the age of 86 years. Wife of the late Anthony Cotter (1984). Dear mother of Sister Wendy Cotter C.S.J. of Chicago, Ill., Ray Cotter and his wife Jane of Guelph. Sadly missed by her granddaughter Martina. Predeceased by her sisters Gladys Graham and Willa Thring and her brother Peter Evans. Isabel was an active member of the CWL throughout her life and at many RCAF Bases. Helen Jean Paddison
In Barrie, on Sunday, April 30, 2006. Helen Jean (Kitching) Paddison at the age of 93 years. Beloved wife for 60 years of the late Roy Paddison(1995). Devoted mother of Terry and his wife Janet of Barrie. Proud grandma of Tracey Hawthorn (Jamie) of Kelowna, BC, Tanya Paddison of Barrie and the late Andrew Todd Paddison (2001). Great grandma of Aniko, Seren and Nathaniel Todd Hawthorn. Helen will be missed by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by siblings Emily Hayden, Dorothy, Chuck, John and Bill Kitching. Helen was raised in Red Deer, Alberta and moved to Guelph at the age of 18 to begin training the the Guelph General Hospital. She met her beloved Roy during this time and eloped on New Year's Eve 1934. Up until Sunday, she was the oldest living graduate from the GGH registered nursing program. McDonald, Leona Grace passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by her family at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, May 2, 2006. Leona (Cerson) McDonald at the age of 80 years. Beloved wife of the late J.B. “Jack” McDonald (1973). Loved mother of Rick McDonald (Sharon) of Fergus and Randy McDonald (Marie) of Guelph. Loving grandmother of Jason (Laura), Jeff, Stacey (Zach), Nathan and Miranda; great-grandma of Jack and Annie. Dear sister of Catherine Casemore of Wingham, Gord Cerson (Pauline) and Donna Cronin, all of Teeswater. Always remembered by the McDonald families. Daughter of the late Hannah (Lamont) and Albert Cerson. Leona worked in Food Services at the University of Guelph for 25 years, retiring as a Food Services Manager and was a dedicated member of Dublin Street United Church. Peacefully at Wellington Terrace on Thursday, May 4, 2006. Jack Gilchrist in his 86th year. Predeceased by his wife Gladys (Rowe) Gilchrist [1993] and survived by his wife Mary Dunlop. Loving father of Marg & Harv Manderson, Malcolm & Teri Gilchrist, Marlene Gilchrist, Kate Gilchrist, Alex and Carolynne Gilchrist. Loved grandfather of Heather & Harry Bardos, Murray and Jen Manderson, Marsha Manderson, Ian, Graham, Laura and Sarah Gilchrist and great-grandfather of Leo and Pierce Bardos and Ila and Eliza Manderson. Dear brother of Penny Klinck of Coburg, Margaret & Stanley Brunston of Almonte. Always remembered by the Rowe families. Jack was a 60 year member and Past Master (1969) of Speed Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 180 G.R.C.; a 60 year 32 member of Scottish Rite, Rameses Shrine and the Rundle Chapter No. 108 O.E.S. passed away peacefully at Heritage House on Thursday, May 4, 2006, in the 97th year of his full and happy life. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence Alice Barry (1968), his second wife, Leona Barry Lucy Ross (1978); and his two sons, Keith Victor (2000) and Ronald Arthur (1942). Loving father of Evelyn Joyce and her husband, Robert of Guelph. Special uncle to Beryl (Lucy) Cameron of Ajax. Caring grandfather of Stephen Joyce (Kim), Brian Joyce (Kathy), Ronald Joyce, Leeann Swallow (Dennis Alderman), David Joyce (Pam); great-grandfather of Mandy, Corey, Janine, Ashley, Graham, Nikki, Rachelle, Dylan, Amy and Matthew; great great-grandfather of Logan. Dear brother of Grace Cutting of Cambridge, the late Alfred Waters, Sidney Waters, Dorothy Smallacomb, Lillian Ferris and Vera Woods Mclusky. Predeceased by his parents, Ernest Alfred Waters and Emily Eliza (Horton) Waters. Frank immigrated to Canada from Kent County, in the south of England, with his family in 1914. He married and raised his children in Guelph, retiring from the Correctional Centre in 1970.
