Bradley John Robinson
At Guelph on Saturday, January 15, 2005. Bradley John Robinson at the age of 46 years. Father of Shawn Randall. Brother of Beverley Robinson of Ottawa, Barbara Baxter of Listowel, Bob Robinson of Guelph, and Bill Robinson of Sault Ste. Marie. Uncle to Jessica, Jamie, Jacob, and Christopher. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Lily Robinson. Brad loved camping and the outdoors. A boy scout and scout leader for many years. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, on Sunday, January 23, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the Trillium Room of the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
Jean Clarke
Peacefully at Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg on January 25, 2005. Born in Toronto on February 16, 1923, but proud of her Scottish heritage. Predeceased by her husband, John Albert (Jack) Clarke, her brother Robert Donald, her parents, Robert and Jean Donald, and her in-laws, Sidney and Mabel Clarke. Sadly missed by her sisters-in-law, Joan E. Clarke (Etobicoke) and Geraldine M. Donald (Pickering), her nephew, Robert J. Donald (Patricia) (Pickering), her niece, Dr. Lynda Donald (Dr. Neil Holliday) (Winnipeg) and their families. She was a longtime resident of 29 Crane Avenue, Guelph. In her earlier years, she lived in Toronto and fondly remembered working at Radio Valve, remaining close to many of those with whom she had worked. She enjoyed travelling, especially the transAtlantic cruises with her husband. Friends may call for a memorial visitation at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, January 29 with the memorial service to follow at 11:00am. Gail James
Passed quietly at St. Andrews Terrace Nursing Home in Cambridge with her family by her side on Monday, January 24, 2005. Gail was in her 57th year. Daughter of the late Leslie James and Doris James (nee Leaman), sister of the late Patricia Schell. Gail is survived by her brother-in-law Norman Schell of Cambridge, her aunt June McNeill of Guelph and her many cousins, nieces and nephews and her great nieces and nephews. Special thanks to all of the staff at St. Andrews Terrace for their loving and nurturing care. Jean Hardy
on Wednesday, January 26, 2005. Jean Hardy at the age of 81 years. Fondly remembered by her sisters Florence Speers of Fergus and Dorothy McIvor of Arizona and brothers-in-law Murray McIvor and Lorne Halls. Jean was a special aunt to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, as well a dear friend to all who knew her. Predeceased by her sister Marion Halls and Mildred Hardy. Daughter of the late Wilbur and Minnie (Beatty) Hardy. Jean was a former employee of Leland Electric and a active volunteer for over 20 years primarily assisting at Norfolk Manor and the LaPointe Fisher Nursing Home and she will always be remembered for caring way in helping others. Gord Male Sr.
passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the Grand River Hospital/Freeport Health Centre, Kitchener on Thursday, January 27, 2005. Gord Male Sr. at the age of 80 years. Beloved husband of Ann (Eleanor) Male. Dear father of Gordon Male of Cambridge, Edward Male and Laura Keough (Brian), all of Guelph. Sadly missed by his brother, Harry Male of Guelph and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, William and Mabel (Smith) and Clara (Forbes) Male, his 2 sisters, 4 brothers and son-in-law, Albert Raith. Cremation has taken place at Woodlawn Memorial Park. A family service will be held at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph. Dr. Walter Scott
Peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 29, 2005. Dr. Walter A. Scott M.D. , F.R.C.S. (C), F.A.C.S. was born in Edmonton, Alberta on July 19, 1913 and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto in 1936, at the age of 22. He interned at the Toronto General Hospital and the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children. He came to Guelph in 1939 and practiced here until 1941 when he joined the R.C.A.M.C. and served in Canada, England, Sicily, Italy and Belgium. He returned to Guelph in 1946 and established a practice in General Surgery, which he continued until 1970. He continued assisting for several years. During that period he served as Chief of Surgery at the Guelph General Hospital for one year and Chief of Surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital for one year and Chief of Medical Staff at the Guelph General for five years. He also served as Coroner for Wellington County for sixteen years. He performed pilot examinations for the Ministry of Transportation for 49 years until his retirement in 1995. Dr. Scott was predeceased by his wife, Miriam in 1983, his son David on May 26, 2004 and is survived by sons Dr. Robert and Maria Scott and children Danielle and Toby of Toronto and Dr. William and Ana Scott and children Juliana, Michael and Mathew of Guelph and his brother, Renwick Scott of London. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 10:30 a.m - 12:00 Wednesday). Service at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL on Wednesday, February 2 at 12:00 noon with The Venerable Archdeacon Thomas M. Greene officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Murray Kidd
passed away at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Guelph on Sunday, January 30, 2005 with his family by his side. Beloved husband and lifelong partner of Lenore (Watt) Kidd. Loved father of Patricia Rees, Elizabeth Kelly (Stephen), all of Guelph and Richard Kidd (Debbie MacDonald) of Orillia. Loving Grandpa of Kristina Rees (Jason Johnston) of Toronto, Rachel Kelly (Kevin Reeve) and Jaclyn Kelly, all of Guelph. Dear brother of Willa Knotts of Fort Frances and the late Vivian Matheson. Predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret (Currie) Kidd. People who were also a part of his life were Gregory, Jo-Ann, Brandon, Shelley and Noah. Murray served in the Boys Parliament and was a Lt. in Cadets; he was a scout leader and involved in Pastoral Care at Chalmers Church. He was retired from the OPP and was the Community Service Officer for Wellington County, marking the highlight of his career. He enjoyed volunteering with Block Parents, Red Cross and on Westwood School trips with his grandaughters. Murray was also active in Kiwanis especially the camp for the handicap; Royal City Square Dancing and was an avid gardener. He will be remembered for his big heart for those less fortunate. Special thanks is extended to Dr. Kane and the Nursing Staff at St. Joseph's Health Centre who went above their call of duty. Thanks also to Sister Madeline, Sister Eileen, Chaplain Simon and Murray's many friends and acquaintances at St. Joseph's. Friends may call for a memorial visitation at Chalmers United Church, 50 Quebec Street, Guelph on Saturday, February 5 from Noon - 1:00 pm. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm with The Rev. Tracy (McKinnon) Hopkins
passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital, on Sunday, January 30, 2005. Tracy (McKinnon) Hopkins at the age of 24 years. Loving wife of Will Hopkins. Dear mother of Donovan and Damian. Beloved daughter of Linda McKinnon and Rolland Boulley. Tracy will be sadly missed by her grandmother, Marie McKinnon; brothers, Jacob and Lucas Boulley; In-laws, Manny and Cindy Gomez; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at the age of 69 years. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Knight (2004). Devoted mother of Dan Knight (Sandra) of Acton and Rick Knight (Elizabeth) of Guelph. Proud grandmother of Ryan, Ryan, Sarah, Samantha and Emily. Survived by her sister, Barbara McLean.
