STEWART, June Julia (nee Brooks) – peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 26, 2007, in her 89th year, with her family at her side. Loving wife of Max Stewart for 66 years. Dear mother of Robert Stewart and his wife Kienie of Toronto and Pat Stewart of Peterborough. Devoted grandmother of Lori (Ron) Visser, Kara Stewart, Mark (Christy) Stewart, Cher (Richard) Anjema, Matthew, Joel, and Neil Stewart, and missed by 14 great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late Julia and William Brooks. Sister of Myrtle Bennewith, Albert (Bernice) Brooks, and the late Clayton Brooks, Evelyn (Horace) Fisher, Dorothy (Walter) Baldry, and Miles (Marie) Brooks. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Local 46 Plumbers and Steamfitters) – at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, surrounded by his family after bravely fighting a lengthy illness, on Saturday, August 25, 2007, in his 71st year. John, loving husband for 47 years and best friend of Sylvia (nee Begley) of Wilmot Creek. Devoted Dad of William of Toronto, Kent of Courtice, John (L.J.) and his partner Cindy of Oshawa, and Melody Ann Boyce of Scarborough. Gramps to Justin, Samantha, Becky, Nathan, Tristan, and Kyle. COOK, Ruth (Ralphy) – after a short illness at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Roger St. Site, on Thursday, August 16, 2007, with her sister at her side, at the age of 66. Ruth, loving mother of Wendy Cook of Peterborough, Sam Cook and his wife Leslie of Stouffville, and Danny Cook and his wife Julie of Scarborough. Sadly missed by grandchildren Robin, April, Jake, Dawson, Ashley, Amy, and great-grandson Cody. Dear sister of Carol Leveque and her husband Larry of Kingston and the late Donna Buker and Billy Brown. JOHNSTON, Dorothy Jean (nee Gallagher), widow of Kenneth (1967), passed away peacefully at Prince Edward Island on Sunday, August 5, 2007, in her 89th year. For the past eight years she happily resided in PEI with her daughter, Janis, and her family. Prior to that, Dorothy lived on Chamberlain St. in Peterborough for 55 years. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her children, Bob of Eaglby, Australia, Paul of Ottawa, Audrey Thompson of Toronto, and Janis Johnson (Gerald) of Hunter River, PEI. Dorothy was the proud and loving grandma of Carolyn Kierstead of Newmarket, Steve and Kate Johnston of Sydney, Australia, Amy and Laura Thompson of Toronto, Eric Johnson of Winnipeg, MN, Ian Johnson of Fernie, BC, and Kyle Johnson of Victoria, BC.
