LEE, Terry (member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and Jerusalem Masonic Lodge #31) – at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville after a brief illness, on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, in his 72nd year. Terry, beloved husband best friend of Winnie for 44 years. Loving father of Brett and John. Dear brother of Ralph (Judy) and Diane (Tom Betty). Beloved wife of the late Alfred Garrod. Loving mother of Ruth and her husband Wallace Couch, and Jackie and her husband Sierd DeJong. Dear grandmother of Tom and Rose, Wendy, Derek and Barb, and Tammy and William. Great-grandmother of Christa, Bradley, Andrew, Justin, Jordan, Dawson, and Cassidy. Sister of Irene Cunningham and the late Charlie and Buddy Brereton, Tom Brereton, Sam and Margaret Brereton, and Frances and Doug Wright. Sister-in-law of Audrey McCullough, Margaret Brereton, and the late Douglas Cunningham. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. HOOS, Maxine Cynthia (Active volunteer within her community) Suddenly at her residence in Newcastle on Thursday, November 24th, 2005 at the age of 44. Devoted wife of Mike for 16 years. Cherished mother of Alex. Beloved sister of Vivian and her husband Barry Forde of Elliot Lake, Brenda Veitch of St. Mary’s and Darlene and her husband Doug Skinner of Elliot Lake. Sister-in-law of Dieter Hoos and his wife Marlena of Regina, Hans Hoos and his wife Bonnie of Belleville, Bernie Hoos of San Jose (Leanna), Pam Carrick and her husband Wayne of B.C., Gord Hoos and his wife Dee of Oshawa and Petra Lutczyk (John) of Oshawa. Caring aunt of Erick, Owen, Angela (deceased), Rylie; Aaron, Rebekah, Stefan, Chris, Lillian (deceased), Katherine, Laura, Jeremy, Brandon, David, Jesse, Bradley and Tiffany. Dear daughter-in-law of Karl and Hedy Hoos of Oshawa. She will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends. Dear mother of Carmen Frenette of Port Hope, Don Beauchamp of Port Hope, Robert Beauchamp and his wife Beatrice of Newcastle, and the late Lucille Jacques. Grandmama to Sylvie, Louise, Josée, Julie, Carol, Richard, Susan, Jeanette, Justin, Jessica, Jacob, and 13 great-grandchildren. Donations in Laurette’s memory to the Hospital for Sick Children would be greatly appreciated by her family.

Loving husband for 55 years of May (nee Francis) of Orono, formerly of Wilmot Creek and Oshawa. Dear father of Diana (Frank, dec. 2002), Darlene (Bill), and Larry. Devoted Papa of Jennifer and Shawn. Loving brother of Ruth (Fred, dec. 2002) and Melba (Al), and missed by nieces Melba and Claire-Marie and their families. Sadly missed by grandchildren Chris, Andrea, Adam, and Jenni, and her special four-legged companion Brandy. Survived by many family members in Denmark. Gordon, loving husband of Peggy Olga Henry (nee Parker) for 48 years. Dear father of Joan and her husband Stephen Bennett of Millbrook. Loving Grandpa to Samantha and Andrew. Brother of the late James, Aileen Reith and Dorothy Cook. Brother-in-law of George F. Parker, Rose E. Wilson and the late Ida E. Russell. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Jefferson, Dr. Stone, The Staff at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, Community Care, St Elizabeth Home Care, Angels of Flight, Guardian Drug Newcastle and all others who aided so much in Gordon’s care.

Evelyn Morrison
MORRISON, Evelyn Doris (November 2, 1904 – October 23, 2005) – Peacefully at Community Care Nursing Home, Port Hope, in her 101st year. Born in Birmingham England, to John Thomas Potter (1874-1959) and Amy Clara (Caldicott) Potter (1874-1944), the third of four children, Alfred John (1897-1902), Gladys Gertrude (Page) (1900-1952), and Cyril Charles (1911-1986). Evelyn came to Toronto in 1923 with her family and married William Reynolds Morrison in 1938. In 1940, Shirley-Anne was born, who became Mrs. John James Smith in 1958. Evelyn and Bill operated a corner store (Becky’s Variety) in the Beaches area of Scarborough for 8 years. Widowed in 1980, Evelyn later moved to Russell, Ontario, with her granddaughter. She was Nana to three grandchildren, Rebecca Evelyn (1959), David William John (1961) and Jacob Rand (1973). David and Shaela presented her with three great-grandchildren, Nathaniel William John (1986), Matthew David (1989), and Molly Evelyn (1991). Rebecca adopted Amy Elizabeth Chun-Feng in 2001 (born 2000), and Emily Kathleen Lin-Xia in 2004 (born 2003). Jacob and Carrie had Evelyn Victoria in 2005. Evelyn was loved and will be greatly missed by her nieces, Jean Cobb (Cliff) and Muriel Whitworth (Eric) of Toronto, and nephews Kenneth Page (Pat) of Aurora and William McInnes (Lorna) of Texas, U.S.A. She was predeceased by Dorothy Peterson of Texas, U.S.A. She leaves many great and great-great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to the “Shannon and Erica Deering Trust Fund” (cheques payable to “Anthony Deering in trust”) in Evelyn’s memory would be appreciated by her family and may be made through NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 1-877-987-3964, with whom arrangements have been entrusted.
Funeral Details: A service will take place at the PINE HILLS Cemetery CHAPEL (Kennedy Road and St. Clair, Scarborough), on Saturday at 2:00 o’clock, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Following Interment at Pine Hills Cemetery, refreshments will be served from 2:30 to 4:30 o’clock in the Pine Hills Reception Centre.
