Patricia Young
YOUNG (WEIR), Patricia Madeline (Jan. 16, 1936) – it is with the heaviest of hearts that the family announces that, after a long and arduous battle against cancer, the disease took an unexpected turn and claimed our dear wife, mother, and sister on Monday, September 6, 2004, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. She was so very cherished by her life-long partner and husband of 50 years (Sept. 10, 1954), Douglas William Young. They started their lives in Doug’s hometown of Marmora before settling to raise their three children in Keene, Ontario. Adored, respected, and loved by her three devoted children and their spouses, Diane and Ken Larmer, Connie and Jim Huffman, and Danny and Laurie Young. She set the finest of example to her much cherished grandchildren, Matthew Larmer, as well as Joshua, Jennesse, and Jonathan Young. The love and lessons they take from her go forward to the next generations. She is predeceased by her parents, Jack and Viola (Reid) Weir and one sister, Ileen Beaubiah. She was so deservedly fortunate to be loved and treasured by her surviving sister Helen Redpath, who stayed by her side til the end. She is also survived by a brother Jack Weir and his wife Marg, as well as many special nieces and nephews. Pat also loved and was loved by an extended family of warm and generous sisters-in-law, and long time neighbours and friends were also a terrific support to her and her family during good times and the recent tough times, and we thank everybody for that. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by her family, and may be made through NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 1-877-987-3964, with whom arrangements have been entrusted. As well,
