Lloyd Henry Wedge - 01/04/2006
Peacefully passed away at 11:50 pm on January 1, 2006 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, beloved husband of Helen Wedge (nee MacKay). He is survived by his sister Joan Vranic (Joseph), brother Ernest (Anne-Marie), sister-in-law Betty (the late Raymond) and several nieces and nephews. Lloyd was a WW II veteran, a graduate of St. Thomas University, NB, taught high school at St. Thomas and a graduate of St. Xavier University, Antigonish, NS. He was a veteran of T.C.A. and Air Canada, and a retired director of Air Canada in Postal Affairs in headquaters in Montreal and Ottawa. Friends may attend a memorial service at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave (corner of Richmond Rd) on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 1 pm. Interment in Moncton, NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated. We wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Civic Hospital for all their care and sympathy.
Irene Witty (nee Cannon) - 12/30/2005
Peacefully in hospital on Friday, December 30, 2005 at the age of 83,- surrounded by her daughters; Lynda (Raymond Lafleur), Judy (Bob Watson), Susan (Bob McCallum) and Laurie (Rich Gallinger). Beloved wife of the late Arnold. Predeceased by her two brothers James and Clary Cannon. Remembered by sisters-in-law; Muriel Witty and Lucille Cannon. Will be greatly missed by her grandchildren; Jennifer, Scott, Christopher, Sara, Katie, Darcy and Autumn, her great-grandchildren Connor, Kaitlyn, Nicholas, Jade, Anna, Roo and Ryan and step-great grandchildren; Alex and Jessey. Many thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Palliative Care Unit of the Civic Hospital. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, on Monday, January 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9pm. David Winston Alexander - 01/14/2006

Peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Loretto (nee Meagher) and his parents, Charles Alexander and Helen Lee, sisters Dorothy, Matilda, Frances and Eva. Loving father of David C., Anne (Tom Samms) and Laura (Michael Rock). Dear Grampa of Steven (Rosemary), Mathew (Nicole), Jason, Cassie, Jim (Patty), Cathy (Mike), Alicia and Great-Grandfather of Amandalie, Katie, Christine, Mackenzie, Victoria, Nicolas, Ashley, Adam and Melissa. After serving in England during WWII, Dave joined the Federal Civil Service and retired after a successful career in 1975. He was one of the first to settle in Carleton Heights in 1947 and volunteered in the community for many years. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, Ottawa, on Monday, January 16 from 2to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, January 17 after 10 a.m. until time of service in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. In memory of Dave, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute, the Arthritis Society or the Ottawa Hospital would be appreciated.

After a long, courageous battle against all odds, on Tuesday, January 10, 2006. Survived by his mother Carla Cooper (Richard Scally) of Port Coldburn, his father Vince Belinski (Adelheid Tolgyesi) of Ottawa, brother Stephen James of Vancouver, BC and predeceased by his sister Christina Emeline Anne Belinski. Thank you to the Spartan Grove Residence and the Palliative Care Team at CHEO. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at the Aviation Parkway on Friday, January 13th, 2005 from 10:30am until time of the service in the Chapel at 11:30am. Dear son of the late Charles and Bertha (nee Perkins) Bradley of Malakoff. Dear brother of Geraldine (Ken Wallace – deceased) of North Gower. Predeceased by his sister Alta (Everett Montgomery), Betty (Paul Patry) and Ella (Hugh Kelly) of Kingston and Gloria (Chuck Brasier). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his wife, Muriel “Max”; daughter Valerie (Paul); sons Stephen (Shirley), Geoffrey (Caroline) Chris (Donna); sister Beverley Duckworth (Russ); brothers Ray (Shirley), Eric (Felicity); grandchildren Jocelyn, William, Alison, Robert and Kate. Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthews Anglican Church, 217 First Avenue, Ottawa on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. Sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses who cared for him. RCAF, WW II 424 Tiger Squadron Peacefully at the Civic Hospital on Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at age 82. Devoted husband of Joan (Ruddock). Loving father of Robert (Rosemary) of Vernon, B.C. and Gordon (Denise Trottier) of Ottawa. Brother of John (Nancy) of San Diego and brother-in-law of Keith Anderson, Ottawa. Predeceased by parents, Maurice and Katie (Duncan), brother Gordon, sisters Betty (George Frizzell) and Margaret Anderson. Grandfather to Craig (Tammy) of Quesnel, Darren (Ashley) of Winnipeg, Maureen (Wade) of Vancouver and Dianne (Doug) of Victoria, as well as Paul and Anne of Ottawa. Great-grandfather to Kyra and Aidyn Buchan. Bob was employed by DND, Defence Construction and Engineering for 32 years and was a member of 410 Wing Association. There will be no visitation. A service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at Carleton Memorial United Church, Melfa Crescent, on Saturday, January 14th at 2:00 p.m., reception to follow in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution would be appreciated to Carleton Memorial United Church, Sanctuary Repair Fund or the Alzheimer's Society of Ottawa at (613) 523-4004. Cotton (nee Ward) Catherine Elizabeth - 01/17/2006
Suddenly on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at the age of 85. Previously deceased by her loving husband John and devoted daughter Janet. Kay will be sadly missed by her beloved daughter Lynne (Ron), her grandchildren Beverley, Wanda, Peter, Amanda and Michael; and her great-grandchildren Geoff, Jamie, Myriah, Glenna, David, Tracey and Adam. She was the eldest of eight children of the Ward family of Chambly, Quebec including Tom (Joan), Janet (Paul), Margaret (John), Joe (Suzanne), Murray (Muriel), Peter (Gerry) and Florence (Lloyd). Kay's extended family was always close ro her heart and she took great joy in the many family gatherings throughout her long life. She had interesting adventures as an exemplary RCAF wife, a Lac Simon cottager and as a snowbird in Sarasota with her many friends, especially Jean. Funeral arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. A family Memorial Service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 154 Somerset Street (at Elgin) on Friday, January 20, 2006 at 4pm. A Celebration of her life will be held in Chambly this spring. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
