Peacefully in hospital on Monday March 6, 2006 in his 75th year. Loving father of Maureen Campbell, Dave (Bev), Gord, Brenda, Heather (Jacques Lane) and Rob. Cherished grandfather of James, Jessica, Ceri, Andrew, Tami, Jessica and Vicki and two great-grandchildren Chance and Devon. Dear brother of Laurence (Florence). Predeceased by his sister Mary Brown and four brothers George (Ellen), Christopher, John (Colleen) and James. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St. on Friday March 10, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday March 11 at 12:30p.m. Interment at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Renfrew in the spring.

He will be fondly remembered by his little girls Andrea, Nicoletta, Athena and Gabrielle. On Wednesday, March 8, 2006 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Doug. Mother of Gail (Dave Woods) and Jean. Grandmother of Bryan (Tracey) and Alyson. Daughter of William Ferguson and Mayme MacDonald. Sister of Sewell (Edda), Owen (Noreen), the late Sally and the late Leonard. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Woodroffe United Church, 207 Woodroffe Avenue, on Saturday, March 11th at 11 a.m. Interment Morewood Cemetery in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christian Horizons or Woodroffe United Church.

Milton C. James Dale - 03/06/2006
Died peacefully on March 5, 2006. Beloved father of Ann (William Voller), James (Shelley Smith-Dale), Elaine, and Adrienne (Michael Thomson). Special grandfather of Daniel James Frazer (predeceased), Catherine Dale, grandmother of Jaime Shanara and Jordan Dale; and Scott and Leah Thomson. Cherished brother of Elaine, Helen and Ashton. Dear friend of Danny Duhamel, and the boys of Brook Lake Hunting Camp. In 1945, Flight Officer Dale was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for completing 38 sorties, including some of the deepest penetrations made into enemy territory. Several sorties involved a flight of nine to ten hours during which his qualities of endurance and tenacity were manifest to his crew, to whom his conduct was a continuous source of inspiration. He displayed a complete disregard for his own personal safety and a high degree of skill. His superb airmanship continued into civilian life with the Ministry of Transportation, first as Civil Aviation Inspector, applying his skills towards efforts to introduce aviation safety standards into Northern Canada, and later as Chief Flight Training Officer, training a new generation of pilots. He finished off his career as a VIP pilot with MOT. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse & Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Strret on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at 11:30 am followed by a reception. In his memory, donations may be made to the Daniel James Frazer Bursary Fund, Carleton University, Development Office, 1125 Colonel By Drive, K1S 5B6. Tail-up Dale, you will be missed, and yes Dad, we will remember to close the hangar door when we leave.

Gordon Robert (Sonny) Day - 02/28/2006
On Monday, February 27, 2006, predeceased by his parents Millicent and Ken Day, his sister Diane (Danny) Marks and his niece Hilary. Born February 24, 1915, Alliston, Ontario. Died March 7, 2006, Ottawa. Fourteenth and youngest child of John Donnelly and Ellen Lynch. Survived by loving son, Paul (Jane) and grandson Andrew (Vera). Pre-deceased by grandson Stephen (Lise). Visitation for family and friends on Sunday, March 12 from 2 PM at Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa (Gladstone/O’Connor) followed by a Celebration of Rita's life at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, family would appreciate a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 222 Queen St., Ottawa, K1P 5V9 or a charity of your choice.

Magnus Gunther - 03/08/2006
On Tuesday March 7th 2006 after a brief illness. Beloved husband of Jan de Crespigny, loving father of David, Kathy, Julian and Harriet; grandfather of Roy, Lola and Mikela. Magnus was a man of books, a hero to his friends, and a great companion. He will be missed by loving friends in many parts of the world. Magnus was driven by his belief in social justice, his hope for the future, and his implacable hatred of apartheid and racism during his years in South Africa and after. Born in Munich in1934, raised in Johannesburg; Magnus spent most of his life in Canada. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 315 McLeod Street on Saturday, March 11th from 2pm until service time in the Chapel at 4pm.

Constance Mary Hagan - 03/05/2006
(Nee Arnold) passed away in Ottawa on March 5, 2006 in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband Robert and her daughter Dianne Kirkpatrick (Don). Survived by her daughter Mary Jane Green (Richard) and grandchildren; Tom Green, Joe Green, Jill Paton (Hugh), Katie Nightingale (Jamie) as well as great grandsons Sam, Ben and Geoffrey Paton and Patrick and James Nightingale. A Memorial Service will take place at Steckley Gooderham Funeral Home,Barrie, Ontario, Worsley Street, on March 11, 2006 at 11am.

Michael Graham 1939 - 2006 Hancock - 03/11/2006
Peacefully, at his home in Manotick, in the arms of his beloved wife Georgina and his darling daughter Rachel, Mic passed away on Wednesday evening, February 22, 2006. As was his wish, he will be buried close to his dear son Graham Winston, who died in 2002. Georgina and Rachel, his grandchildren Emmie, Bryce and Lindsay, his sister Molly and cousin David, Georgina's mother Mrs. J., their extended families in England, and Mic's many great friends, former students and colleagues, will miss him deeply. Mic was in good spirits to the end, having faced adversity with grace. He survived in largely uncharted territory for several years, thanks to the tremendous skill and caring of doctors, nurses and staff of the Ottawa Hospital (Dr. Howard Lesiuk), the Regional Cancer Centre (Dr. Stan Gertler, Dr. Heather Bastianelli and Dr. Shawn Malone) and VON (especially Linda Tolstoy). In his memory, donations to these organizations would be so much appreciated. On Friday, March 17, there will be an informal reception from 5.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. at the central location of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa. On Saturday, March 18, at 3 p.m., at Capital Memorial Gardens on Highway 16 near Manotick, there will be a brief graveside reading prior to the burial. Friends and family are then invited to gather at Landmarks, on the 3rd level of the Westin Ottawa, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., in reflection and celebration of Mic's life.

Peacefully at the General Hospital on Monday, March 6, 2006 in her 87th year. She was the eldest child of Samuel Hanna and Alice (Curran) Hanna, McCuaig. She is the loving sister of Vida (late Keith), Ruth (late Don) and Lyn (Ron). She is predeceased by her parents, brothers Leonard, David and sisters Ethel, Alice (Buddy) and Mildred. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Thursday, March 9, 2006 from 7 to 9pm and on Friday, March 10 from 1pm until Service time in the Chapel at 2:30pm. Dr. C.G. (Charlie) Ph.D Hickman - 02/24/2006
In Pembroke on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at age 81. Beloved husband of the late Joan(nee Switzer). Survived by his daughters Katherine Burns and Marsha Stepleton and son Charles, his grandchildren Kelly, Lisa and Erik and by his great grandchild Kennedy Jo Kesiling. Dr. Hickman worked for many years with the Experimental Farm in Ottawa in animal genetics and was also a member of the Britannia Yacht Club. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, Ottawa on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 from 2-4pm.

Peacefully, at the Garry J. Armstrong Home, on Monday, March 6, 2006, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Joan Scott. Dear father of Joyce (Robert French). Loving grand-father of Shawn and Lisa, and step-grandfather of Brandy (Warren Bedford). He will be fondly remembered by step-great-grandchildren Emily and Sophie, and by six nieces. Special thanks to the caring staff of Bradford House, third floor of the Armstrong home for their support. A private family service will be held in the spring. Donations in his memory may be directed to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada or a charity of personal choice.

passed away peacefully at home on March 2nd, 2006 with family at her side at the age of 88. Wife of the late Albert R. Martel. Beloved mother of Suzanne (Richard), Annette (Frank) and her grandsons John and Patrick MacNeil. Predeceased by her parents Emilien Martel and Helene Champagne, 1 brother and 1 sister. Survived by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Deeply loved and will be missed by many that were blessed by her presence, especially dear family members Sylvie, her special angel, Bill, Anne, Frank and a special grandma to Monika, Billy and Abby. She will miss her adoring pets Lucky, Mandy and Max. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road, on Monday, March 6, 2006 from 12 noon until Service time in the Chapel at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Osteoporosis Society or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.
