John Veitch
At the Southampton Care Centre on Tuesday, December 26th, 2006, at the age of 82 years, John Veitch of Southampton and formerly of Port McNichol. John was the husband of the late Ruby Philps. He is survived by his brother-in-law Russell Philps and his wife Ann of Port Elgin, by his niece Barbara and her husband Adrian Burkenshaw of Burlington, and by his nephew Bill Philps and his wife Pam of Boxford, Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters of England.
John’s passion in sports was boxing, and true to his calling, he passed away on
"Boxing Day.”

Christina "Stien" Vanderplas
At South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Walkerton on Monday, January 8th, 2007 at the age of 86, Stien Vanderplas of Paisley. Wife of the late John Vanderplas. Dear mother of Case and his wife Kathy of Oakville and Peter and his wife Betsy of Ermelo, Netherlands. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristy, currently of Tanzania, and Rob of Oakville and by her niece Pat and her husband Alf Galivan and their family of Port Elgin. She is predeceased by her brothers Peter Cutter and Albert Gutter.
Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Paisley Chapel, 216 Queen St. South, Paisley, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel, on Saturday at 1.00 p.m. with the Rev. Shelly Butterfield-Kocis officiating.
Interment Starkvale Cemetery, Paisley.

George Vance
Suddenly at his residence on Sunday, February 18th, 2007 at the age of 69 years, George Vance of Bruce Township. Dear father of Wayne and his wife Kathy of Kincardine, Margaret Faust of Chesley, Shirley and her husband Sid Englefield of Ripley, Alex and Jamie of Sault Ste. Marie, Brian and Holly of Victoria Harbour, Kenneth of Hanover, Karen Overland and Chuck of Allenford, Beverly Vance and Nick, Ruth Vance and Bob and Bonnie Vance and Richard, all of Penetanguishene. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren. Brother of Marion and her husband Jack McDermid of Burgoyne, Lois and her husband Ted Vandeloo of London, and Gladys McLeod of Tiverton. Borther-in-law of Brenda Vance of Paisley. Predeceased by his brother Lloyd and by his wife Noreen.
Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Paisley Chapel, 216 Queen St. South, Paisley from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 22nd, 2007. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Bob Cotie officiating.

Robert Urquhart
At his home on Sunday, December 2nd, 2007, at the age of 62 years, Robert Urquhart of Port Elgin. Husband for 40 years of the former Lorraine Woolfrey. Father of James and his wife Tracey of Chatsworth. Grandpa of Natalie and Rachael. Brother of Ian Grant Urquhart and his wife Carolann of Paris. Godfather of Elisa Urquhart. Uncle of Michael and Andrew, both of Paris. He is predeceased by his parents Donald and Jean Urquhart.
Private family funeral services in the care of the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 519-832-2222. A memorial service to be held in the spring, 2008.

Lois Unsworth
At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton on Saturday, December 16th, 2006, the former Lois Eastman of Port Elgin, at the age of 76 years. Wife of the late Jim Unsworth. She will be greatly missed by her children, Wayne and his wife Brenda of Kincardine, and Judy and her husband Rob Stewart of Owen Sound, her grandchildren, Ryan, Anthony, Tanya, Cori, Colby, Wesley, Kara, Shea, Tara, Harley and Summer, and by her great-grandchildren Justine and Maya. Sister of Philip Eastman and his wife Wynne of Waterloo, Donald Eastman and his wife Leslie of Brandon, MB, and Elaine Eastman of Burlington. Her many nieces and nephews will miss her love and encouragement.
Friends may at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin, (Town of Saugeen Shores) from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19th. Unsworth, James Albert
Suddenly at the London Health Sciences Centre, University Campus, on Thursday, June 14th, 2001 at the age of 71, Jim Unsworth of Port Elgin. Loving husband and friend of the former Lois Eastman. Will be greatly missed by his children, Wayne and his wife Brenda of Kincardine, and Judy and her husband Rob Stewart of Port Elgin. His grandchildren, Ryan, Anthony, Tanya, Cori, Colby, Wesley, and Kara, and Shey, Tara, Harley and Summer will miss their #1 helper and fishing buddy. He will also be missed by his sister Jean and her husband Harvey Livock and by his brothers Ken and his wife Janet, Charlie and his wife Rachel, and Bobby and by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother Joe.

At the Southampton Care Centre on Thursday, April 22nd, 2004 at the age of 81 years, Jack Underwood of Southampton. Husband of the late Isobelle Clazie. Father of Mary and her husband Ron Thede of Saugeen Township, Andy and his wife Danielle of Owen Sound, Jane and her husband Dan Hettrick of Paisley, and Betty and her husband Bevin Gregg of Paisley. Grandpa to Lisa, Megan, Michelle and Evan, Katie and Jessie, and Christina and Michael. He is also survived by his sister Maurine and her husband Doug Maundrell of Southampton, mother-in-law Jean Clazie of Southampton, sister-in-law & brother-in-law Edna and Jim Clazie of Saugeen Township, nieces and nephews and their families

Frederick Charles Underwood
Suddenly at the Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound Site, on Monday, June 28th, 2004, at the age of 69 years, Fred Underwood of Port Elgin and formerly of Bruce Township. Loving husband of the former Hazel Butterfield and the late Ruth Underwood. Loving father of Pauline, Julie, Douglas, Eileen and Timothy. He is also survived by many grandchildren, brother Jack and sister Edith Macrae. Fred will also be deeply missed by Hazel’s children and their families. Predeceased by brother Tom.
Funeral service will be conducted in the Port of Fellowship Baptist Church, 910 Goderich Street, Port Elgin (Town of Saugeen Shores), on Friday, July 2nd at 2.00 p.m. with Pastor Eric Watson and Pastor Randy Baker officiating.

Underhill, Harry Emmerson

At his home in Southampton, on Sunday, April 28th, 2002 at the age of 55 years, Harry Underhill of Southampton. Husband of the former Marion Sinden. Father of Teresa and her husband Steve Price of Mitchell, Cheryl and her husband Paul Ireland of Paisley, and Karla, Ryan and Nancy, all of Southampton. Poppa of Megan Price , and Nicole and Christopher Ireland. He is also survived by his mother Cora Underhill of Kincardine. Brother of Audrey Williams of Southampton, Brian Underhill of Red Deer, Alberta, Donna Judd, and Brenda Fisher, both of Kincardine, and Bruce of B.C. Survived by his uncle Carl Underhill and his wife Dee of Lakefield. He is predeceased by his father Paul Underhill.

Eileen Turcotte
At Saugeen Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 7th, 2006 in her 88th year, Eileen Turcotte of Port Elgin. Wife of the late Lennox Turcotte. She is survived by her children Robert and his wife Kristan of Ajax, Kathy Ellis of Port Elgin, Don and his wife Nancy of Kincardine, Margaret and her husband Ron Dumbarton of Calgary, Barb and her husband Mike Koch of Port Elgin, and Joe and his wife Catriona of Toronto. She is survived by thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and her brothers Gordon and Hugh Bruce, both of Toronto. She is predeceased by six brothers.
Funeral service will be conducted at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St. Port Elgin (Town of Saugeen Shores) on Monday, April 10th at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Bob Cotie officiating.
In lieu of flowers,Memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Living Hope Christian Centre as expressions of sympathy.

George Tudge
passed away suddenly, with his family at his side, on Thursday, January 1st, 2004, at the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton. He was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on November 16th, 1922, and is predeceased by his parents Victoria and James, and by his sister Janet. He is survived by his wife Isobel, sons Nicholas, Joseph and Timothy, daughters Theresa and her husband Wayne Thomas, Melissa Eugene, and Christine Tudge and her husband Jordan Tserghanos, as well as, sisters Winnifred Roy, and Evelyn McGraw and her husband Frank.
He worked many years for the City of Mississauga and retired as Chief Building Inspector after which he enjoyed his favourite hobby, fishing, and a new career in real estate. He was a special man who was honest and generous with his friends and family, and was much loved by both. He will be sorely missed.
Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin, on Tuesday, January 6th, 2004 from 1:00 until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
