Bruce Roppel
Suddenly in Ripley, with his family by his side on Saturday morning, January 20th, 2007, at the age of 53 years, Bruce Roppel of Bruce Township. Husband of the former Gail Parent. Father of Micheal and his wife Melanie, John, and Christina and her husband Sunny Wahi, all of Bruce Township. Brother of John and his wife Fran, Ken, and Tom and his wife Diane, all of Bruce Township. Brother-in-law of Dennis Parent and his wife Jennifer, and Robert Parent and his wife Pamela Teabo of Port Hope. Bruce will be dearly missed by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pauline and Armand Parent, by his grandmother Jean Thibeault, all of Port Hope, and by his many nieces and nephews.

Roppel, Harvey
Suddenly at his residence on Monday, March 3rd, 2003, Harvey Roppel of Port Elgin. Beloved husband for 56 years of the former Ruby Shantz, he is also survived by his sister-in-law Jessie Roppel of Port Elgin, many nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his family and will be missed by the Shantz family. Harvey is predeceased by his parents John and Mary (Schwass) Roppel, brothers Clifford and Clarence, sisters Leta Henkenhaf, Melinda Ortman, and Clara Buchanan. Mr. Roppel was a member of the Port Elgin United Church for 43 years.

Philip Roote
On Saturday, January 22nd, 2005, at the age of 44 years, Philip Roote of the Saugeen First Nation. Husband of Jill Roote. Father of Brittany, Hunter and Cambridge, all at home. Son of Mary and the late Gerald Roote. Brother of Michele and her husband Bruce Puddester of Kitchener, Darlene Carter of Saugeen, Alan and his wife Krista of Edmonton, Stuart of Arizona, and Holly and her husband Charles Fontaine of Winnipeg. Survived by nephew Jordan Roote, and by eighteen nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one brother Larry in 1971.
Private family visitation.
A memorial service will be held at the James Mason Cultural Centre on Tuesday, January 25th from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service to be conducted at the James Mason Cultural Centre, Saugeen First Nation, on Thursday morning, January 27th, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Frank McGee officiating.

Jordan Roote
Suddenly in his home community on Saturday, November 4th, 2006 at the age of 22 years, Jordan Roote of Saugeen First Nation. Son of Darlene Carter and Warren John. Brother of Jocelyn, Carolyn, Jarrett, Brooke, and Hayley Carter, and Madeline John, and stepbrother of Christian, Devon, and Sarah John, all of Saugeen First Nation. Jordan was traditionally raised by his grandparents Mary and the late Gerald Roote, and was "Wiikaanenh" brother to Michele, Allan, Stewart and Holly, and the late Phillip and Larry Roote. He is also predeceased by his paternal grandparents Doris John and Aylmer Parker.Jordan will be sadly missed by cousins, extended family, and friends.

Mom of Debbie and her husband Jim Rupert of Barrie, Wanda and her husband John Saunders, Rusty Robinson all of London and Vikkie at home. Grandmother of Michael, Andrew, Steven, Emily and Rebecca. She is also survived by many cousins in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Ontario.

Survived by her brother Gary Tupling and his wife Lucette, sisters- in-law Jeanette Hymmen of Port Elgin, and Sheila and her husband Bob Reaburn of Ilderton, by brothers-in-law John MacKay and Bill Boettger of Port Elgin, and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Lois Dollar and sister-in-law Olga MacKay.

Stepfather of Mike Osborne and his wife Beth of Barrie, Devin Osborne and his partner Crystal of Owen Sound, and Andrew, Tyler and Danielle Hatten of Chesley. Son of Don and Betty Ann Roberts of Paisley. Grandson of Daisey Roberts of Durham. Brother of Cliff and his wife Suzanne of Orlando, Florida, Luke and his wife Rebecca of Durham, and Sarah and her husband Jarrod Hunter of Port Dover. Don is also survived by his uncle William of Collingwood, brothers-in-law, Bill and his wife Barb McKeag of Kincardine, Jim and his wife JoAnne McKeag of Port Perry and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his grandfather William Roberts.

Son of Mildred Ritchie and brother of Sheldon and his best friend Sharon O'Kane all of Saugeen First Nation. Father of Adrian and Tyler Ritchie. He will be missed by his uncle Pat and aunt Velma Solomon. Predeceased by his father Leslie, brother Terry and son Kevin.

Aunt of Dean Martin, Barry Diamond, Ben Diamond, Annie, Joe, Dexter and Curtis Ritchie, Martha and Mary Anne Mitchell, Dayton and Harold Thompson, Mike and John Buffalo, and Laura Thompson. Great aunt to several nieces and nephews. Sister of Mervin Buffalo of Timmins, Gordon Thompson of Saugeen, Gladys Thompson of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and Marina Thompson of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Predeceased by her sister Helen, her brother Jerry Thompson and an infant daughter.
