Agnes Anne Parish (nee MacKinnon)
Suddenly on April 9, 2004 at the William Osler Health Centre-Etobicoke, at the age of 90. Predeceased by her husband George. Loving mother to Jim and Catherine. She will be sadly missed by 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. Cremation has taken place and burial will be held in Muskoka at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Frederick J. Haslan
passed away suddenly on Monday, April 12, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in his 86th year. Son of the late John and Ellen Haslan. Loving husband of Evelyn for 62 years. Dearly loved father of Denise, Ken, Joanne MacPhee (Bob), Janice Stacey (Scott), Peter (Anita), Michael (Susan), Kelly and the late Karen. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Andrea, Kimmie, Sean, Troy, Shannon, Christine, Cory, Ryan, Angela, Leland, Kayla, Shalan, Emma, Tyler, Konner, Kara and great grand children Riley, Devin, Rory and Allison. Survived by his nephews Art and Tom Bragan. He will also be missed by many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Mary Bragan-Neil. Mr. Haslan served in the Royal Canadian Navy on the H.M.C.S. Saguenay during W.W. II and retired from Canada Post in 1982 after 37 years of service. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Thursday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass Friday at 11 a.m. from St. Leo’s Catholic Church. Cremation. John “Jack” Livings
Jack was a WWII Veteran with Q.O.R. Reg., and was a longtime employee of Etobicoke Hydro. Peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at Humber River Regional Hospital – Finch Site in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty”. Loving father of Susan (John), Elizabeth (Peter), John (Sue) and Robert (Dale). He will be lovingly remembered by 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Patricia Ann Mitchell
On Thursday, April 22, 2004 in her 64th year at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Patricia, dear daughter of the late Jarvis and Francis Griffiths. Loving wife to Graham Beaton. Dear loving mother to Marilynne Moorey (Rick) and Christopher. Grandmother to Amanda, Bradley, Justin, Danny, Bryan, Richard, Tianna and the late Devyn. Suddenly on Monday, May 3, 2004 in his 67th year, beloved husband to Beverley McGraw. Sadly missed by Wayne and Brent McGraw. Sarah Mac Fadden
On Thursday, May 6, 2004 at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga Site. Sarah, beloved wife of the late John Mac Fadden. Loving mother of Jack and his wife Josie and Gordon and his wife Donna. Sarah will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Phillip (Courtney), John (Mandy), Daniel, Bryan (Jennifer), Sarah, Alistair, Michael (Melissa), Joshua, Melissa and her husband Jason Langan, Marc and her great grandchildren Mitchell, Mackenzie and Jayden. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Georgina, Sarah’s loving caregiver for 3 years, the staff of Cawthra Gardens and Trillium Health Centre Mississauga Site. Sarah was a proud graduate of the Nursing Program in Glasgow Scotland, a War Bride and a founder of the War Brides Association on the Lakeshore. Sarah nursed at St. Joseph’s Health Centre and was one of the first nurses at the Mississauga Health Centre, a long time member of St. James Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Saturday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Monday at 1 p.m. Interment Glendale Memorial Gardens. The family would appreciate having donations to The Hospital for Sick Children.

Jindra (Ian) Nemecek
At Trillium Health Care Centre – Mississauga on Monday May 10, 2004 Jindra Nemecek, predeceased by Molly (1994) and dearly remembered by his special friend Elisabeth (Liesl). Loving father of Ian (Carollynne), Roderic (Fran) and Alexander (Lori). Dear grandfather of Heather, Kyle, Cara, Molly, Mandy, Niall, and Seairra; and great grandfather of Breanna, Devyn, Aaron, Emily and Melissa. Bill Gayhart
passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at Lakeshore Lodge on May 10, 2004. Beloved husband to Jeanne and loving father to Stephen. He is survived by his brother Gerry (Joan), brother in law Wilf St. Ours (Jean), sisters in law Yvonne Chapman, Anne Gayhart, and her late husband Jack. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews; Janet, Joanne, David, Paul, Chris, Dan ( Sue), Paulette, Peter, Brian, Mary Ruth and great niece and nephew Melissa and Jason. Bernard Filip
Born in Germany, March 15, 1943 died in Toronto on May 14, 2004. Married the love of his life, Valerie Diane Lesnick, and was the proud and devoted father to their children Allan and Katrina. Will be missed by his older children from a previous marriage: son Kevin (Chris) and Kevin Jr., daughter Cindy (Danny) and their children Aaron, Blair, Dylan and Jade. He had a special relationship with his late brother Paul and brother Ralph (Chris) and their children Jackson and Gracie Lee. Will be sadly missed by his Toronto family Anne, Georgia and Mark, and family in Timmins and North Bay. Will be fondly remembered by his many friends, neighbours and ski-do buddies, co-workers at George Kelk Corp., and by his best friends Ted and Kim Wronski who had the great pleasure of spending Valerie and Bernie’s 25th wedding anniversary in Dominican Republic in February. Bernie did see paradise. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a memorial service to follow. A celebration of Bernie’s life will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2 p.m., 18 Trueman Avenue, Etobicoke. Rest in peace, Bernie.

Gerry Bakker
Peacefully on May 20, 2004 at Highbourne Lifecare Centre at the age of 83. Beloved husband of the late Johanna. Father of Marian (Joe) Wolfe and Fred (Tracy). Grandfather of Jennifer, Shayne, Catherine, Christopher, Leanne, Anita, Janet and Tamara. Great- grandfather of Larissa and Brenden. Interment at Glendale Memorial Gardens on Saturday, May 22 at 11:30am.

Gwladys Saunders (nee Cooke)
Suddenly on Thursday, May 20, 2004 at Highbourne Lifecare Centre at age 80. Beloved wife of the late Wilfred and long time companion of Sam Groia. Dearly missed by daughters Dilys Philip, Jacqueline Burnell, son Gerald, sisters Myrtle Johnston, Dorothy Metcalfe and brother Edward Cooke. Survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. Evelyn Beatrice West (nee Beaulieu)
Peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital on May 21, 2004. Predeceased by her husband Jack. Loving mother of Suzanne and her husband Michael Devenney and Jack Jr. and his wife Darlene. She will be sadly missed by her granddaughter Ashley. Evelyn is predeceased by her brother Rudolphe. A special thanks to the staff at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital and her family physician for many years Dr. Thorner. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 25, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (921 Flagship Dr., Mississauga) followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

William (Bill) Kydyk
Peacefully, on Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba, William (Bill) Kydyk, passed away at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his first wife Kay, second wife Mary, brothers, Walter and John, sisters-in-law, Mary, Marg, and step-son Randy Kereluk. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his step-daughter, Elaine (Mike) Dufault, Leanne and Brent; step-sons Wayne (Dawne), Kristel, Ryan, Melanie (Jason), David (Debbie), Jennifer (Clint), Charmagne, Leonard (Helene), Lisa; brothers Mike, Andy (Joan), Nick, Peter, sister Stella (George); dear friends, John and Jennie Kuzemko, Kay’s family; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Bill was born in Pleasant Home, Manitoba on May 7, 1920 to Paul and Anne (Chudek). Bill proudly served overseas during World War II and was discharged in 1946. Upon his return to Toronto he met Kay Zuk, they married and shared 42 years of marriage until her passing in 1988. In 1993, Bill moved to Winnipeg and married Mary Kereluk. The Orthodox Rite of Funeral will be held on Thursday May 27 at 11 a.m. from St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Interment Springcreek Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, if so desired, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.

Geraldine (Gerry) Hibbit
Peacefully surrounded by her children on Monday, May 31, 2004 at Tony Stacey Centre for Veterans' Care (Legion Village) at the age of 85. Gerry was a life member of Branch 3 Legion's Ladies Auxiliary and the residents' President at Legion Village. Loving wife of the late John. Beloved mother of Carol (Jim) Bairstow, Rosemary (Jack) Coram, Gerald (Sue) and John (Marilyn). Cherished and loving grandma to 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Best friend and cousin to Doreen Stevenson. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. Violet Kathleen Allen (nee Renshaw)
After a brief battle with cancer, at the McCall Centre for Continuing Care in Etobicoke, on Monday, May 31, 2004, Vi, in her 85th year. Loving wife of Charles Edwin ''Ted'' Allen for almost 65 years. Long time resident of Alderwood, and former employee of Simpson's, Sherway Gardens. Loving mother of Ross and June of Perth, Ontario; Ron and Sharon of Barrie, Ontario; and Rick and Janet of Ladner, B.C. Loving grandmother of eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. At her request, a cremation and Interment at Glendale Memorial Gardens has already been conducted. A Memorial Service and celebration of her life will be held at The McCall Centre for Continuing Care, 140 Sherway Drive, Etobicoke, 3rd Floor, on Saturday, June 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. The family also wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the McCall Centre for their care and concern. Final arrangements entrusted to the Ridley Funeral Home (416-259-3705).

James Wright
Peacefully on June 4, 2004 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Josephine for 63 years. Dearly loved father of Jim (Eileen), Jeffrey (Bea), Joan (Don), June (Walter), John (Lulu), and Janet (Levi). Special grandfather to Ken, Daniel, Tom, Scott, Mark, Jason, Albert, Kimberlea, Edward, Jamie, Levi and Jaclyn. Very special great-grandfather to Jacob, Avery, Cassidy, Marissa and Bradley. Jim served his country in the Air Force. He enjoyed many hours of flying as a bush pilot. He worked for Ontario Hydro and Consumers Gas. He was a long standing member of St. Matthews Church, Islington. He had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed many years of camping in Camper’s camper. He was a wonderful family man and he fought the good fight. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church (3962 Bloor St. W., Islington) on Saturday, June 12, 2004 at 2 pm.

Paulo Naj

(Faithful lifelong member of St. Margaret's Anglican Church, New Toronto; longtime resident and business owner on the Lakeshore). Dear loving wife of the late Arthur Alfred ''Art'' Garner (2002).
