After a lengthy illness on Monday, September 8, 2003 in her 76th year. Predeceased by her parents Michael John and Mary Ellen, husband Jack and brother Linus. Sadly missed by her brothers and sisters, Celia (Rollie), Priscilla (Tony), Dora, Delbert, Gerald (Gwen) and Teresa (Lou). May-Sang Soong
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of May Sang on Wednesday, September 10, 2003. He died peacefully at home with his family at his side. Right to the end, he showed pride, dignity, strength and consideration for others in his struggle with cancer.
May Sang was the loving, devoted husband, best friend and partner of Jesse for 58 years. He was the cherished father to Maria (Robert), Mathew (Helen), Paul (Theodora) and Peter (Mary Lynn) and the adored grandfather to Jessica, Jonathan, Jennifer, Theodore, Michael, Daniel, Christine and Allison.
May Sang was born in Shanghai, China in 1926 and moved to Canada over 35 years ago. He enjoyed traveling and playing badminton at the YMCA and he most of all enjoyed time with his family. He has always been the leader of the family and has led many great Soong Family Expeditions to China, Europe, Florida and the Caribbean. Always modest about his many business successes, he was able to contribute to the community both here in Canada and in China. He was most proud of his Chinese heritage and was a great supporter of the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto.
The family offers many thanks to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care of Mount Sinai Hospital, with special appreciation to Dr. David Kendal for his care and support. Visitation from 5-9 pm on Monday, September 15, 2003 at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St., at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at 10 am at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church (3220 Bayview Ave.-North of Finch) with Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery after. Alexie Mae O'Neill
It is with great sadness that our family announces that Lexie O'Neill passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 14th, 2003. Right to the end, Lexie demonstrated strength, grace, and optimism. Lexie was the loving, devoted wife of Ted for 38 years. She was an exceptional and cherished mother of Brad (Alana), Jason (Jennifer), Chris (Christina), and Jill (Ron), and the adored grandmother to Wilson and newborn twins, Alexie Rose and Maeve Catherine. She was predeceased by her mother, Jean McIntosh, and is survived by her father, Preston, and her sisters, Lorna (Noel) and Lois (Carl). Lexie was born in Portage La Prarie in 1942, and moved to Ontario in 1966. She was a fierce competitor on the curling rink an on the golf course, where she managed a hole-in-one as a beginner. She was a spirited shopper, who always gave generously to others. Always the life of the party, Lexie filled the room with positive energy, enthusiasm, and laughter. A loyal and steadfast friend to many, Lexie believed that good friends were like a four-leaf clover-hard to find and lucky to have. She inspired wonderful family memories at the cottage on Tea Lake and the condo in Madeira Beach, Florida. Thanks to the doctors and nurses on C3 at Sunnybrook Hospital, with a special thanks to Dr. John Waldron. Visitation will be held from 6-9 pm on Wednesday, September 17th at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A service to Celebrate Lexie's wonderful life will be held on Thursday September 18th at 2:30 pm also at R.S. Kane Funeral Home. Peacefully after a happy and fulfilling life on Sunday, September 14, 2003 at the age of 48 years. Wendy will be lovingly remembered for her caring spirit to family, friends and the community. She cherished her years as Director of Newpark Children's Centre, involvement in the child care community, and her volunteer time at Wellspring (providing emotional support to cancer patients and their families). She will be greatly missed by her partner and best friend of over 27 years, Brian and by her daughter Erin. Survived by her Dad Len (Marjorie), brothers Rick (Margaret), Michael (Dawne) and Don (Kathy), sisters Janet, and Karen (Colin), her nieces and nephews, and in-laws Betty (Joe), Jill (Rick) and Mike (Marie). Darling mother of David, Darya, predeceased by Dorian, and beloved granmother 'Lady Mummy' to Mhairi and Iain of Toronto and David, Alice and Robin of Scotland. Born in Milnithorpe, in the Lake District of England. Mummy was a great admirer of nature and a talented artist. A Sincere thank you to all the compassionate and loving staff of K1E, who gave Mummy dignity and comfort at all times during her illness. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paschal Baylon R.C.
