Bizot, Mrs. Elizabeth Johanna "Betty" Bizot (nee Nobels) of Nanaimo, B.C., formerly of High River and Strathmore, passed away peacefully at Nanaimo on August 12th, 2003 at the age of 94 years. She was born at Stompwijk, Holland on August 30th,1908. Betty is survived by her son Jack and his wife Dot Bizot, daughter, Ria and her husband Jean-Paul, son Jerry and his wife Jean and by five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Holland and by many good friends. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Jerry on September 20th, 1984. A funeral service was held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, High River, on Wednesday, August 20th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Philip Le officiating. An Interment service will follow at Highwood Cemetery. A reception will follow the Interment service. Arrangements in care of Snodgrass Funeral Home Ltd., High River. Telephone 652-2222.

Bramley, Bertie beloved wife of Leslie Bramley, High River, passed away at the High River Hospital on August 22nd, 2003 at the age of 89 years. Besides her loving husband Bertie is survived by her son William (Janice) Bramley, Grande Prairie and her grandchildren Lyle (Joyce) Bramley and Monica (Len) Russell. She is also survived by her brothers Orvil (Betty) McDonald, Calgary and George (Louise) McDonald, Didsbury and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, High River on Tuesday, August 26th at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Henry Friesen officiating. Bertie's cremated remains will be placed in the "Rock of Ages" Columbarium at Highwood Cemetery. Snodgrass Funeral Home Ltd. (652 2222) directors.

Calderwood, Arlene of Black Diamond, passed away on August 8th, 2003 at the age of 74 years. Arlene is survived by her children Judy (Vern) Wanlund, Janet (Ross) Shapka, Ron Calderwood and David Calderwood and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald Calderwodd in 1978. A funeral service was held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, 200 Woodgate Road, Okotoks on Tuesday, August 12th at 1:30 P.M. A private family gravesite service followed at Foothills Cemetery, Black Diamond. If desired, contributions may be made to the Mustard Seed Society, Calgary. Cane, Beryl Harriet Lenore passed away on August 15th, 2003 at the age of 76 years. Beryl is survived by her two sons Jeffrey and Gregory (Loreen) and; brothers Gordon (Ethel) Tarves, Laurie (Dallas) Tarves, Terry (Lavina) Tarves; sisters Gail (Gerry) Parcells and Joan (Gordon) Evans and sister-in-law June Tarves. She was predeceased by her husband Lionel in 1993; parents Goldie and Gordon Tarves; brothers Bruce and Dale Tarves and sister-in-law Ettie Cane. Beryl was born in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan on November 21, 1926 and moved to Calgary at age 3 in 1929. She married Lionel in 1961 and they moved to Millarville in 1984. While in Calgary she worked with Alberta Pacific Grain Company and Mobil Oil. Beryl belonged to the Oil Wives and PEEG wives clubs in Calgary and enjoyed playing bridge and being active with the Senior Ladies Guild of the Millarville Church. A visitation was held at the Snodgrass Funeral Home in Okotoks, Alberta on Wednesday, August 20th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. A funeral service took place on Thursday, August 21st at 1:00 p.m. at the Christ Church Millarville, Millarville, Alberta. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements in care of Snodgrass Funeral Home (Okotoks), 938-3111.

Gaudry, Brian Michael, of Calgary passed away suddenly at Okotoks on August 17th, 2003 at the age of 39 years. He is survived by his sons Cody and Keifer and their mother Kelly Gaudry, Calgary; his parents Ron and Mary of High River, brothers Shawn and Stephen, Calgary and sister and brother-in-law Lorie and Bill Long, High River. He will also be missed by his nieces, Cori and Tara, his Uncle Gary Gaudry and cousins Jay and Derek. A time of visitation for family and friends was held at Snodgrass Funeral Home, 301 Macleod Trail, High River on Thursday, August 21st, at 7:00 p.m. Cremation followed at Parklawn Crematorium. A memorial service was held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, High River, on Friday, August 22nd at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a trust fund for Brian's sons Cody and Keifer, c/o Lorie Long, 1010 - 17th Street S.E., High River, AB. Halfacree, Olive Evelyn passed away on August 9th, 2003 at the Oilfields Hospital in Black Diamond at the age of 91 years. Olive is survived by her loving husband Colson; sons James McNeil, Ralph McNeil, Lloyd McNeil, Douglas McNeil and Bob McNeil; sisters Martha West, Marjorie Mills, Eva Holt and Aubrey Tilt as well as 25 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Olive was predeceased by her parents Brock and Annabelle Tilt; sister Eda Davis and brother Francis Tilt. Olive grew up in Francis, Saskatchewan were she later farmed along side her father, she then continued her love of farming when she married Colson and farmed together in Lumsden, Saskatchewan. She was a Silver Cross Mother with the Royal Canadian Legion and had all 5 sons serve in the military throughout the world including Australia, Laos, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Cypress, Norway Germany as well as the seven seas. A memorial service was held on August 11th, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Snodgrass Funeral Chapel in Okotoks. Snodgrass Funeral Home (Okotoks) in care of arrangements, (403) 938-3111.

Linton, George of Cayley passed away at the High River Hospital on August 5th, 2003 at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Ann Linton, Victoria and by various other relatives. A funeral service was held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, August 12th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Eugene Creale officiating. An Interment service followed at the Field of Honor, Highwood Cemetery. If desired, memorial tributes in George�s memory may be made to the Cayley Bible Fellowship Church, Box 127, Cayley, Alberta TOL OPO. Morgan, Marie of Black Diamond, passed away on August 20, 2003 at the Foothills Hospital after an extended illness. Marie spent the first 30 years of her marriage as a partner to Jim�s military career, traveling across Canada and Europe with her family, making lifetime friends along the way. Her most recent years she was content staying close to her home in Black Diamond, spoiling her family with apple pie and peanut butter cookies, meeting new friends, playing cards and floor curling at the Valley Neighbors Club and the Griffin Center. Marie is the beloved wife of Jim for 44 years, loving mother to her two sons, Craig (Wanda) of Cochrane, Daryl (Debbie) of Calgary. Cherished grandmother to her three grandchildren Sarah (Dean) Spocchi, Jason and Chad. She is also survived by her brother Bob (Robert) Hardy of Vancouver, B.C., Sister Irene (Harry) O�Donnel of Toronto, ON., and aunt Isabelle (Al) Hinz of Las Vegas. A Memorial Service was held at St. Michael�s Roman Catholic Church, Black Diamond, on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Fr. John Bastigal officiated. Cremation took place at Parklawn Crematorium, High River. Roy, Blanche passed away peacefully at the Father Lacombe Nursing Home on August 7, 2003. Born September 1, 1914, Blanche was the youngest daughter of Edouard and Elisa (Letourneau) de Laforest. Blanche spent her younger years in religious life and taught in various communities in Saskatchewan where she was known as Sister Nativity. Blanche left the order in 1970 and continued hr teaching career in Fort McMurray, AB. A few years later she married Philip Roy who gave her great joy and they enjoyed their time together until his death in 1983. In many ways, Blanche was a lady ahead of her time. She could well be described as a free spirit, always pursuing new experiences. Blanche was also predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters, Marcel, George, Gerard, Paul, Marie, Antoinette and Louise. She is survived by a sister-in-law Mary McEachern of Whitewood, SA. as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass was celebrated at the chapel of Father Lacombe Home, 332 146 Ave. SE, Calgary, on Monday, August 11, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Fr. P. Cramer celebrant. Somerville - Jason David. It is with great sadness, we announce the tragic passing of our dear son and brother, Jason David of High River on August 17th at the age of 20 years. He will be deeply missed by his mother Trudy and Sandy, his sisters Jennifer and Shelby, his father Mark and Jacquie and brothers Taylor and Cameron. Jason will be truly loved and always remembered by his grandparents, Chuck and Joan Halverson and Ray and Mary Somerville. He will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Swendson, Trygve G.R., died on August 16th, 2003 from injuries sustained in an accident. He was 36 years old. Tryg was born on November 26, 1966 in Nelson, BC. Tryg will be remembered for his love of life and the thrills of living each day to the fullest. He was known for his quick wit and sense of family. He had several passions in life, fishing, motorcycle riding, computers and spending time with family and friends. He leaves behind his mother, Myrtle (Zoobkoff) Swendson (Leigh Snow) Prince Rupert, BC, father Ted & Yvette Swendson of Calgary, AB, grandmother Edith Swendson, Nelson, BC, sisters Ruby Knox (Brian), Redcliff, AB, and Mary Swendson (Herb), Smithers, BC. He also leaves behind Maria Norma Rogers, friend and companion, and his cat, Simon as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in BC, AB and Norway. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Tryg leaves a legacy of hope to transplant recipients. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to HOPE (Human Organ Procurement & Exchange, Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary, AB). A celebration of Tryg�s life will be held at the home of Ted & Yvette Swendson on Aug. 19th at 2pm. Cremation will take place at Parklawn Crematorium in High River, Alberta.

Taylor, Josephine Helen of High River, Ab. passed away peacefully at home with her family on Sat., August 15th, 2003. Jo was born at Vancouver, B.C. on Sept. 10th, 1920 and grew up in Trail, B.C. She married Harry Taylor in 1940 and they lived in Castlegar, B.C. until Feb., 1989 when they moved to High River, Ab. Harry died in September of that same year. Jo was employed with Statistics Canada for 15 years and was a library volunteer and derived much pleasure from doing this. She played badminton since her youth and had a special interest in the junior players. She golfed for a long time and bowled for over forty years, always enjoying the sport and congeniality of the other players. She was an avid bridge player and made many friendships. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Molly and her husband Bernie Houghton, High River, her sons Harry and his wife Mary Lou Taylor and Brian Taylor, all of Toronto. And her grandchildren: Audrey Mayr and Amy Johnson, Calgary, Gordon (Natalie) Mayr, Australia, Graham (Amber) Mayr, Calgary, Tara (Joe) Taylor, Ottawa, Josie, Stephanie, Jackie and Danielle Taylor, Toronto and 2 beautiful great grandchildren Jared and Madison Mayr of Australia. A memorial service was held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, High River on Tuesday, August 19th at 2:00 P.M. If desired, contributions may be made to the Alberta Lung Association, 302, 609 � 14th St. N.W., Calgary, T2N 2A1. Snodgrass Funeral Home Ltd (652 2222) directors.

Abraham, Mabel passed away suddenly at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2003 at the age of 62 years. She leaves behind to mourn her three daughters Marilyn (Rodney), Jennifer (Tim) and Mary Ann Abraham; sister Mary Jane Wesley; two brothers Micheal Wesley and Bill (Annie) Wesley, as well as six grandchildren, six nephews, eight nieces; aunties Nora (John) Stephens, Cassie Lefthand, Elva Lefthand; uncles Webster Lefthand, Lazorus Wesley as well as an extended family from Morley. She was well known for cooking at the Eden Valley School for three years and following that she was transferred to another job which the Wesley Band called the R.U.N. program. She worked there as an Elder Liason and loved working with the younger people teaching the ways of our Native Culture. She was predeceased by her common � law husband Lloyd Across The Mountain in August of 2003 and also her parents Paul Wesley (1956) and Susan Wesley (1960), three sisters, six brothers and one grandson. Wake services were held on Saturday, December 27th and Sunday, December 28th. A funeral service was held at the Chief Jacob Bearspaw Memorial School in Eden Valley on Monday, December 29th, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Snodgrass Funeral Home (High River) in care of arrangements, 652-2222.
