Mary Margaret Brennan
BRENNAN, Mary Margaret (nee Myler) – Passed peacefully away on Sunday, August 15, in the presence of her loving family and friends, Mary Margaret Brennan, 73. Predeceased by her infant daughters Deborah and Donna and her borther, David Owens. Leaving to mourn her devoted and loving husband, Frank (Fanny); seven children: Frank (Anna), Elizabeth Philpott (Kevin), Ann Connolly (Keith), Eleanor (Jeff Parsons), Bill (Annemarie), Tina Hand (Jack), Mary (Walter Hammond); brother James Owens, sister Gertrude Jacobs, special sisters Marie Brennan, Carmel Walsh and Mary O’Dea; thirteen grandchildren: Tara, Andrea, Patrick (Brennan), Maria, Laura (Philpott), Stephen, Mark (Connolly), Tim, Samantha (Parsons), Michael, Amy, Jessica (Hand), Abigail (Hammond). Also lovingly remembered by many relatives and friends, especially Dr. Rob and Susan Walley and her card club friends. Speical thanks to her son-in-law, Dr. Jack Hand, who gave her and the family inspiration and comfort, Dr. Pat O’Shea , the staff of the Cancer Clinic, especially Drs. Aulifigar and Ganguly, and the staff of HSC 4 North A. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Monday, from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Vigil service will take place on Wednesday evening at 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. Pius X Church on Thursday, August 19th, 2004, at 9:45 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Kids with Cancer Travel Fund, the Right to Life Association or St. Pius X Parish.

BYRNE, Helen (nee Power) – Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, age 78 years. Left with fond and loving memories, her children: Jim, Ottawa; Rod, St. John’s; Les (Charlene), Florence, NS; Sean (Anne Marie), New York; grandchildren: Kayla, Robyn, Braden, Sean Jr., Mark and Asling; brother John Power (Joan); sister Eileen Coady (Phil); as well as other relatives and friends. A very special thank-you to the nursing staff at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their compassionate care. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Saturday, August 14, and Sunday, August 15, from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, August 16th, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. CRANFORD, Phyllis - Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex on Thursday, August 26, 2004, Phyllis Cranford, aged 88 years. Predeceased by her husband, Herbert Cranford on June 15th, 2004; sisters Barbara Cramm and Mildred Rodgers and brother Foster Rodgers. Leaving to mourn hers daughters: Jane Moss (Stewart) of Nova Scotia, and Brenda Dollmont (Bernie) of Nova Scotia; son Richard Cranford of Montreal; grandson Antonio, Santigo, Spain; brother Ed (Shirley); special niece Greta Carmona, Michigan, USA; also her many friends and caregivers at the Hoyles Home. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd. on Saturday from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Service on Monday, August 30th, 2004, at 10 a.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Leaving to mourn three sons: Robert (Paula), Wayne (Rosemary) and Gary (Theresa); three granddaughters: Carla, Lisa, Dana; one great-granddaughter Katie; one sister Betty (Mike Spearns); one brother Mike Keough (Debbie); sisters-in-law: Helen Keough, Doris Dillon; brothers-in-law: John Dillon (Elsie), Ed Dillon (Lorraine), as well as other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. DOOLEY, Eileen Mary – Passed peacefully away on Friday, August 27, 2004, at her daughter’s home, in the presence of her family, Eileen Mary Dooley (nee Dunne), at the age of 87, born 1917. Predeceased by her loving husband, Allan Bernard Dooley, August 8, 1976. Leaving to mourn her ten children: Nora Stanley (husband George, predeceased), William (Hildred), Leo (Bernice), Elizabeth Noseworthy, Judy Locke (Andrew), Gary (Joyce), Allan (Sharon), Eileen Fifield (Frank), Helen O’Reilly (daughter Helen Frances Dooley, predeceased); Danny (Karen); also leaving to mourn her sisters: Marie Butler (husband Arthur, predeceased), Theresa Murphy (husband John, predeceased), Helen Dunne, Sheila Walsh (Kevin); Predeceased by sisters Bride Murphy (Mike) and Margaret Hamlyn (Harry); also predeceased by her brothers Harold Dunne and Gerald Dunne; leaving to mourn her sister-in-law Kay Dunne, 36 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. DORAN, Daniel F. - June 16th, 1939 – August 27th, 2004, Passed suddenly away at his residence in Logy Bay. Predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Evelyn Doran, brother Jim Doran. Leaving to mourn his wife Mary (Sis); three daughters: Mary (Jerome) Boland, Linda (Jeff) Manning, Jane Doran (Jorge); one son John Doran (Barb); six grandchildren: Stephen, Gerard, Jordon, Gregory, Emily and Olivia; also sisters: Mary Paulia, NewYork; Lucy Conway (Fred), Ruby Hickey (Dennis), Ethel Hogan; brothers: John (Ursula), Ontario; Patrick, Toronto and Richard (Janet); sister-in-law: Elizabeth (Lib) ; Aunt Lucy French, Shearstown; brothers-in-law Jim Stokes (Theresa), Michael Stokes (Angela), Joseph (Peg); sisters-in-law Patricia James (Lloyd), Joan Randell (Angelo), Maisie Giles (Fred); as well as a large number of nieces and nephews, special buddy Val Field and many other special friends, too numerous to mention. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay. Anne Duff
DUFF, Anne (nee Maher) - December 13th, 1913, Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in the presence of her family on Saturday, August 21st, 2004. Left to celebrate her life and spirit are her children and their families: Val (Betty), Wabush; Patsy (Fred Koch), BC; Brian (Bun), NB; Dave (Connie), St. John’s; Maureen (John King), North Carolina; Brenda (Terry Trainor), BC and Bob (Carol), St. John’s; sixteen grandchildren: Cathy, Jasen, Kim, Julie, Joanne, Brian, Jeff, Mark, Dawn, Andrya, Megan, Christopher, Jill, Jennifer, Shannon, Connor; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives; and her dear friends, Louise O’Brien, Joan Goudie and Anna Johns; as well as many others who shared a game of cards, especially Anita and the girls, and anyone who shared a “trip around the bay with the Cooks” . As per her request, cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 25th, 2004, at a time to be announced from St. Teresa’s Church. Inurnment to follow at Belvedere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the United Ostomy Association of Canada or a charity of ones choice.

Miller Centre, after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, August 28, 2004, Emma Marie Fisher, age 81 years. Predeceased by her husband, Ernest J., May 1, 2004, and her son Ernest 1947 and her daughter-in-law Barbara, July 19th, 2004. Leaving with special memories, daughter Rosalind (Gary Cook) Vancouver; sons: John (Barbara Lynn); Derek; brother-in-law Bill (Nita), Kitchener, Ontario; grandchildren Paul (Valerie), Craig (Joanne), Jill (Shawn), Debbie (Rob), Amy, Lori and Jennifer; great-grandchildren Owen, Nathan and Nathan; sisters: Bernadette O’Rourke, Branch; Ella (Albert Roche), St. Brides; brother Mike, St. Catherine’s NL; as well as a large circle of friends, and special friends, Jim O’Dea and Eleanor Mulcahy. He leaves to mourn his son Don, wife Helen (Ryall), children Jeffrey, Catherine; son Paul, wife Linda (Dauphinee), children Stephanee (Marty White), Andrea (Jeff Gray) and Carolyn; and very special nephews Gerald Newell, wife Shirley (Rose), children Gerry and Craig. He leaves as well a large circle of relatives and friends. A special thank-you goes to nieces and nephews who gave great comfort to him and his family and the wonderful caring nurses and staff at St. Lukes Homes where he resided.
