Cyril Joseph Colford
COLFORD, Cyril Joseph - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, January 29, 2004 after a courageous 16-1/2 year battle with his health. Formerly of 747 Water St., he was a resident of Kilbride for the last 44 years. A 30-year employee of Revenue Canada. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife Margaret (Murphy); loving children: David (Donna), Stephen, Suzanne, Jane MacDonald (Adrian), Mississauga, Ont.; dear grandchildren: Matthew and Michael Colford, Nikita Rae Piercey, Ryan and Victoria MacDonald; brother-in-law Timothy Murphy (Donna), Consecon, Ont.; sisters-in-law: Olive Rowe, Carmel Wright (Wally), Ottawa, Ont.; special caregiver Keith Hillier, and all VON nurses who cared for him; also a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by his parents James and Anastatia; his brothers: Patrick, Williams, James, John, John; and his sisters: Helen, Mary, Bride, Sr. Margaret, Anne, Agnes and Catherine.
At Cyril`s request, his body has been cremated.
There will be no visitation. Funeral mass from St. Patrick`s Church on Monday, February 2, 2004, at 11 a.m.
Private Interment at Belvedere Cemetery to occur at a later time.
Donations may be made to the SPCA.
A positive attitude can overcome almost anything. Cyril was truly a loving, wonderful man who touched the hearts of all those who knew him. He never gave up and he never complained.

Austin Joseph Connolly
CONNOLLY, Austin Joseph - Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home on Tuesday, January 20, 2004, Austin Connolly, age 76 years. Predeceased by his wife Madonna (Oliver), September 4, 2000. Leaving to mourn two daughters: Connie Baggs, husband John (Dick) and Donna Thomas, husband Sel, both of St. John`s; five sons: Wayne, wife Pat of Torbay, Garry, wife Esther and Greg, wife Donna, both of St. John`s, Austin Jr. (Sonny), wife Irene of Bay Roberts and Colin, wife Gretha of Alberta. Also leaving to mourn twenty grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Aiden Kelly, sisters-in-law Sheila Connolly and Laura Craze. Also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially staff and friends at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home.
Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Wednesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 23, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of Peace Church, Torbay Road. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, The Boulevard.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to St. Patrick`s Mercy Home. Rest in Peace

Victor R. Crane
CRANE, Victor R. (1924 - 2004)- Passed peacefully away at his home in Kilbride in the arms of his loving wife and surrounded by his family Victor Richard Crane on Saturday, January 10, 2004. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer`s, aged 79 years. Predeceased by grandchildren Billy Squires and Dawn Peddigrew-Cook; sisters May Hawkins, Dot Ronayne and brother Martin. Leaving to mourn with fond and cherished memories are his devoted wife of 53 years Marcella (nee Morrissey) and his beloved children: Carmel Drover (George); Rosie Cook (Ron); Marlene Marshall (Cec); Harold (Jeanette); Ramona; Lorraine Ryan (Jim). Also leaving to mourn nine loving grandchildren; Robby Squires (Karen Wilke); Jill Rice (George); Chris, Colin and Blair Marshall; Allison and Lee Crane; Jennifer and Rebecca Ryan as well as two sisters-in-law: Loretta Brushett (Paddy) and Catherine Hatfield, nieces, nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends.
Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home LeMarchant Rd. on Monday, January 12 from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, January 13 from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass from Corpus Christi Church, Waterford Bridge Rd. on Wednesday, January 14, 9:30 a.m. Interment at Roman Catholic Cemetery, Kilbride.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Anna Marie Dinn
DINN, Anna Marie - Passed peacefully away at the Leonard A. Miller Centre on January 21, 2004, Anna Marie Dinn (retired school teacher) of Witless Bay, age 95 years. Predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Marcella Dinn, and sister, Rev. Mother James Dinn of Presentation Convent. Leaving to mourn cousins: Margaret Mercer, Patrick and Lucy Flemming; special friends, John and Sharon Murphy and family; also many other relatives and friends.
Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home on Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick`s Church, Witless Bay. Interment to follow at R.C. Cemetery, Witless Bay.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the S.P.C.A. of NL.

Annie Frances Evans
EVANS, Annie Frances - In loving memory of Annie Frances Evans who passed away on January 24, 2004. Born Annie Lahey at Lance Cove, Bell Island on June 28, 1917. She moved to Topsail Road, over 60 years ago. Predeceased by her husband Leo in 1970. She will always live in the hearts of her 17 children Mary Alcock (John), Burlington Ont., Marion, Mount Pearl, Kathleen Mattie (Lyle), Monastery NS., Barbara, Holyrood, Kevin, Kelligrews, Carol, Mississauga Ont., Leo (Theresa), Paradise, Sharon, Mount Pearl, Samuel (Philamena), Fort McMurray Alta., Patricia (Norman Schubert), St. John`s, Richard, Topsail Road, Frank, Topsail Road, Debbie, Waterdown, Ont., Rosemary (Tom Simmonds), Fort McMurray, Alberta, Gerard, St. John`s, Paul (Kim), Mount Pearl, Annmarie, Whitby, Ont., She will be dearly missed by her 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and her brother Tom Lahey, Goulds. Predeceased by her brothers Charlie and Jim; sisters Johanna Miller and Mary Helpertalong. Many other relatives and friends especially her lifelong friends Mary, Nora and Bobby Nash of Topsail Road.
Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Thursday, January 29 at 1 p.m. from Mary Queen of the World Church. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Since Annie`s faith and religious beliefs never ever wavered over the years, her family would appreciate in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to Mary Queen of the World Parish. God saw you getting weary and a cure was not to be. He put his arms around you and whispered come to me.

William Fitzgerald
FITZGERALD, William - Passed peacefully away after a short illness on January 29th, 2004, William Fitzgerald, aged 74 years. Predeceased by wife Catherine; son Barry; parents, Theresa and John; brothers Tom, John Jr. and Edward; sister Elizabeth O`Neil. Leaving to mourn daughter Bonnie (Eric) Morgan; son William (Donzella); very close and dear friend Mabel Starkes; grandchildren: Bernie and Tiffany Morgan and Devon Fitzgerald; also a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Friday 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 31st from St. Teresa`s Church at 1:00 p.m. with cremation to follow.
Donations maybe made in his memory to the L.A. Miller Centre Palliative Care unit or The Cancer Society. Your memory will live in our hearts forever.

Eleanor Fleming
FLEMING, Eleanor M. - Passed peacefully away on January 20th, 2004, Eleanor M. Fleming in her 95th year. Predeceased by her husband, John F. Fleming, in 1966, by her parents Michael and Katherine Jones of Harbour Grace and all her siblings. Left to mourn are her son John and wife Roxanne; daughter Agnes and husband Edward Nugent, all of St. John`s; and daughter Catherine of Toronto; grandchildren Stephen and Michael Fleming, John Nugent and Elinor Burke, great-grandson Adam Burke, other relatives and friends.
Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road with visitation from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Smithville Crescent, 9:45 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2004 with Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Flowers will be gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in her name to the charity of one`s choice.

Gertrude Mary Fleming
FLEMING, Gertrude Mary - passed away peacefully at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home on Friday, January 2, 2004. Leaving to mourn niece Patricia Canning (Richard Cashin); great-nieces Jennifer and Stephanie Girard; great-nephew John Paul Girard; great-great-nephew, Jack Girard; and special caregivers, Ann Drake and Wilhelmina McGrath. Predeceased by her brother, Father John Fleming; her sister, Helen Canning; and her niece, Gertrude Canning Girard.

FLYNN Margaret (Fifield) - passed away in Nova Scotia while visiting her youngest son on Monday, January 5, 2004, age 81. Predeceased by her husband John B. (1989); her first born son Jimmy (1952) at the age of 3; her son-in-law Scott Patey (2002); and her brothers: William Alfred (Bud) Fifield (1996), John (Jack) Fifield (December 3, 2002) and Edward Fifield (December 4, 2003). Leaving with loving memories her seven children: Gerry (Sara), Ottawa, Kevin (Shirley), Paul (Diane), Leo (Jackie), Pangnirtung, NU, Ronald (Tina), Nova Scotia, Mary (Tony Fowler) and Carolann Patey (Loren Slade), St. Anthony. Also leaving to mourn twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Ethel Ennis, Fredericton, NB and many other relatives and friends.

FOLLETT, Gordon James - Passed peacefully January 3, 2004 at Palliative Care, L.A. Miller Centre, Gordon James Follett, aged 60. Predeceased by his mother Hazel, father George and brother Raymond. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Charlotte (Hodder); sons: Scott (Kim), David (Joanne), Paul and daughter Linda (Darrell); nine grandchildren: Bradley, Brittany, Carla, Chelsea, Emily, Christian, Sarah, Josh and John; brothers: Wally (Diane) and Roy (Barb); sisters-in-law Shirley Follett, Effie Pelley, Mary Payne, Maisie Simmons (Walt), Phyllis Smith (Unice), Jean Waterman (Clide), Mary Hodder (Clayton Penny) and Minnie Butler; brother-in-law Tom Hodder (Cathy); aunts Vellatta Piercey, Annie Downey, Lois Follett and Doris Downey; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
