Rita Mary Furey
FUREY, Rita Mary (nee Morrissey) - Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home on Thursday, January 15, 2004, in the presence of God and her loving family, Rita Mary Morrissey Furey, age 94 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Charles Francis (Frank) Furey, November 7th, 1998. Left to celebrate her life are her three sons: Brian (Patricia Tracey), Edward and Michael (Roseanne Ryan); also grandchildren: Colum, Danny, Elizabeth, Aileen and Conor Furey, all of St. John`s; her sisters: Anne Schmidt of Cambridge, Ontario and Carmel Morrissey of Gambo; her brother John Morrissey of Gambo; nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends.
Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Friday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 19th, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the St. Patrick`s Mercy Home Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Ita Margaret Gibbons
GIBBONS, Ita Margaret - Passed peacefully away on January 11, 2004, in the presence of her loving family after a brief, courageous battle with cancer at the Palliative Care Unit of the Leonard A. Miller Centre, Ita Margaret Gibbons in her 64th year. Predeceased by her parents Alphonsus and Theresa Gibbons. Leaving with fond and loving memories are her cherished children: Ed, Keith (Eileen), Rosarri (Jim) and two very special grandchildren Adam (mother Dawne) and Robert; sister Marjorie Evans; brothers: Austin, Joe (Shirley), Phil (Theresa) and Ralph. Also nieces Beverly (Ben), Edna (Doug), Jackie, Marlene (Paul), Barbara Ann (Peter) and Heather; nephews Gerard (Elaine), Joe (Joanne), Dean and Mervyn. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road from 12 noon--10 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2004. Cremation to follow. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 14 at Sacred Heart Church, St. Vincent`s, St. Mary`s Bay.

GREENE, Fr. Charles - Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home on Thursday, January 1, 2004. Formerly of Point Verde, he is predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth, brothers Ronald and Aloysius and sisters Magdalen and Mary (Browne). Left to mourn, brother Brian (Julia), sisters Milly Young, Agnes Maijala and brother-in-law Casimir Browne, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. especially Eleanor Burke and family, Fr. Barbour, Fr. Hogan, Priests of the Archdiocese, Presentation Sisters and caregivers at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home.

HALL, William Andrew (Bill) - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Friday, January 2, 2004, Bill Hall, resident of Hoyles Home, age 84 years. Predeceased by parents, Patrick and Bridget; sister Minnie; brothers: Michael and Patrick in April, 2003. Leaving to mourn his sister Hilda Brien (Dave); brother Bernard Hall; sisters-in-law: Berth and Ruth Hall; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

HOLDEN, Christina - Passed suddenly away after a brief illness at St. Clare`s Hospital on Jan. 18, 2004, Christina Holden aged 81 years. Leaving to mourn loving family: husband Michael of 57 years; son, Frank; daughters: Barbara Chafe (Scott), Linda, Elaine (Chris); two grandchildren: Angela (Troy) and Brian; two great-grandchildren: Austin and Haley; brother-in-law Joseph Holden; sister-in-law Helen Tucker. Also nieces, nephews and relatives in England and Scotland, and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

HOSKINS, Margaret (Fifield) - Passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Home on Tuesday, January 13, 2004, age 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Thomas, 1988 and her brother Matthew, 1997. Left to mourn her sad loss are her sister Marie Hoskins and her two brothers: Charles and John Fifield. Also leaving to mourn are many nieces and nephews, family and friends. A special thank you to the staff and nurses at Agnes Pratt Home for their kindness and caring.

HUMBY, Gerald (Dick) - Passed suddenly away at the Health Sciences Center on Monday, January 5, 2004, Gerald (Dick) Humby, aged 51 years. Leaving to mourn his best friend and devoted wife Patricia (nee Bursey). His three loving children: Nicole, Brian and Christa; his mother: Agnes Humby; three sisters: May Rosenow, Margie Hedges (Vince), Cathy Taylor (Moe); one brother: John (Judy); five brothers-in-law: Don Bursey (Barbara), Jim Bursey (Glenda), Kevin Bursey (Elaine), Gerard Bursey (Connie), Ken Bursey (Tina); five sisters-in-law: Carmel Martin (Ralph), Diane Bursey, Jennett Hurley (Ray), Carolann Reddy (Gerry) and Bernice Hill (Edgar). A large circle of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Chesley Valentine Kelly
KELLY, Chesley Valentine - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Walter Templeman Hospital, Bell Island, on January 23, 2004, age 88 years. Predeceased by two wives, Mabel Annie (nee Hodder) and Beatrice (nee Martin) and daughter Leona Leaman. Leaving to mourn daughters Jacqueline Vokey (Walter) and Effie Kelly; caregivers and special friends George and Cynthia Kearley, friend Doreen Kelly; ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.
At Ches` request, cremation has taken place.
The family will gather at a time and location to be announced.
Special thanks to the staff of the Dr. Walter Templeman Hospital for their compassion and loving care.
Yvonne Bernadette Kelly
KELLY, Yvonne Bernadette - Passed peacefully away on January 31, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer in her 56th year. Predeceased by her father Raymond Drover and father-in-law Gregory Kelly. Leaving with loving memories her husband of 32 years, Joseph, loving children Sean, Kyla (Donny), Tracey (Stephen) and Trudy (Jason), mother Genevieve Drover, brother Aiden (Roberta), sister Cynthia (Art), mother-in-law Hannah Kelly. Forever missed by special family friend Lisa Randell and treasured by two special children Katie and Stephanie Hayward. As well as a large circle of family and friends.

Yvonne was truly a loving wonderful woman who touched the hearts of all those who knew her. Her strength and loving spirit is an inspiration to us all.
