MOREY, Bernard Francis - Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family, at the Palliative Care Unit, on Monday, January 12, 2004, following a lengthy illness. Bernard Francis Morey, of Flatrock, longtime employee of the Sir Humphrey Gilbert Building, age 82 years. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife of 55 years, Theresa; five sons: Brian (Christine), Bob, Steve (Melba), Paul (Margie) and Peter (Linda); two daughters: Marg (Jack Parsons) and Sharon (John Healey) of Waterloo, Ontario; special sisters Josephine Butler of St. John`s and Christine (Jim) Collins of New Jersey; three brothers-in-law: Pat, Edward and Joseph Dawe of St. John`s; one sister-in-law: Helen Hickey (Dominic) of Happy Valley, Labrador; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special niece Alice Marie Holmes and a large number of nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at a time to be announced from St. Michael`s Church, Flatrock. Interment to follow at St. Michael`s Cemetery, Flatrock.

Eileen Mary Murray MURRAY (BURKE), Eileen Mary - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare`s Mercy Hospital on January 1, 2004 in the presence of her loving family, Eileen Mary Murray (Burke), age 82 years. Predeceased by her son Alexander, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, sisters Marie, Louise, Margaret and her brother Joseph, mother Julia Burke, father Brendan Burke. Leaves to mourn husband Alexander, sons Leo, Frank (Mary-Lynn), Jerry (Cathy) and Patrick (Elizabeth), daughter Eileen MacDonald (David), daughter-in-law Betty, sister Genevieve Brown, brother Brendan Burke; sisters-in-law Eleanor Burke and Margaret Power; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, Torbay, on Friday, January 2, 2004 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church. Interment at St. Agnes Cemetery, Pouch Cove.

Mary O'Brien O`BRIEN (Hanlon), Mary A. - Passed peacefully away on January 3, 2004, age 85 years. Predeceased by her two sons: Stan (1987) and John (1997). Left to mourn her daughters: Mercedes Singer, Molly Donovan (Bill) and Doreen Oliver; one son Edward O`Brien; one sister Winnie Fisher, California, U.S.A.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on Wednesday, January 28th, 2004 of a loving husband, devoted father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and brother-in-law.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife and best friend Maureen (Sullivan), his daughters Deanne (Markis) Manolis and Donna (Wally) Bray, son Danny (Sandra). Beloved Grandchildren Ashley and Meghan O'Neill, Nicole Manolis, Nick and Scott Bray also Sandra's three sons Noel, Ryan and Joshua Sparrow. Caring and loving sisters Rita (Ed) Walsh, Ruth (Nick) Carew and other relatives.

PETERS, Sister Mary Carmel RSM - Entered into eternal life at McAuley Convent on January 24, 2004, Sister Mary Carmel Peters, age 81 years. Predeceased by her parents John and Margaret (Hunt) Peters, her brothers Richard, Pius (wife Mary) and Thomas and brother-in-law Michael Joy. Leaving to mourn her Congregation the Sisters of Mercy, her sister Mary Joy of Catalina, Trinity Bay, sisters-in-law Bride Peters, Frances and Rita Joy, nieces Marguerite (Wilson) Hoyles, Marie Robinson and Angela Robinson and a large circle of cousins and friends.
Resting at McAuley Convent, 250 Waterford Bridge Road, St. John`s on Sunday, January 25, 2-9 p.m. and Monday, January 26, until 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 27, at 9:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish Church, Waterford Bridge Road with Interment to follow at Belvedere Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

PIERCE, Justin David - Passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy battle with Batten`s disease at the Janeway Hospital on Tuesday, January 13, 2004, Justin David Pierce, age 9 years. Left with fond and loving memories his loving and devoted Mom, Terri-Lynn (Shane Doyle); his father David (Jennifer); half-sister Amber; grandparents: Daphne and Terry pierce and Grace Whitty; special step-grandparents Bill and Bertha Doyle; great-grandmother Leah White: Aunts Michelle (Phil), Jackie (Mike), Annette and Paula and Uncle Billy; also special cousins Richard, Danielle, Sarah, Christopher and Luke; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Predeceased by her loving husband John (1994), brothers Tom, Leo, Joe and Frank, sisters Edith and Sister Mary Gregory. Leaving to mourn daughter Marie (Doug) Hart and sons Father Brian of Kitchener, Ont., Gerard and Michael (Viola); grandchildren Jennifer and John Hart, Brian, Brenda and Andrea Quigley and great-grandson James; brother Vincent and sisters Agnes Fabel of Minnesota, Winniford Fowler and Helen O`Keefe.
