BYRNE, John (Jack) – Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on July 3rd , 2004. John Byrne (Jack), nine days before his 91st birthday. Predeceased by his wife Kathleen (nee Nugent) Byrne in 1977. Leaving to mourn one Son Robert (Bonnie); Three daughters Charlotte Fowler (Alex Kavanagh), Kathy Hickey (Kevin Haley) all of St. John’s and Mary Fancy (Roy) of Truro NS.; Ten grandchildren Susan Byrne Sullivan, Alison Byrne Miller, Mike, Bernie, John and Robbie Fowler, Chris and Joanne Fancy; Pat and Kim Hickey; Five great-grandchildren Robert, Gregory, Tim, Rebecca and Abby; Sister-in-law Stella Grouchy; nephews and nieces; good friend Eddy Ryan; also a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Sunday and Monday from 10a.m. – 12noon, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 6th, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church. Predeceased by his parents, Mary and Thomas; sister Mary Kendall, Florida; brother Elmer Charles Dunne, Sacramento, California. Leaving to mourn his sisters: Eva Perry, St. John’s; Joan Sliman, Mobile, Alabama; Edna Perkins, Lafayette, Louisiana; brothers: Bill, Stephenville and Paul, St. John’s; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A very special thank-you to the medical staff at the Health Sciences Centre, Coronary Care Unit. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. DWYER, Mary – Passed peacefully away, surrounded by her family, at her residence in Torbay, Mary R. Dwyer (nee Bell), age 75 years. Predeceased by her loving husband, Nicholas; sisters Jess and Marge and brother George. Leaving to mourn 8 children: Jessie (Clyde) Hoban, Florence (Gilles) Moran, George (Mary), Nicholas Jr. (Bertha), Eugene (Michelle), Michael, Isabelle (Shawn) Thomas, Claudette (Paul) Mackey; 26 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters: Phyllis and Jean, brother Paul; as well as a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Friday from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Funeral Service on Saturday, July 3rd, 2004, at 2 p.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Graham Evans
EVANS, Graham – Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre on Wednesday, July 21, 2004, age 72 years. Predeceased by his brother Edward. Leaving to mourn his wife of 44 years, Mary (nee Codner); daughter Dawn Jordan (Steve) and son Daryl, Vancouver; two beloved granddaughters: Hilary and Emily; sister Verna Sullivan (Charlie); brother Eugene (Judy); sister-in-law Jessie Evans; the Codner Family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at Caul’s Funeral Home, TORBAY, Thursday, July 22nd, 2004, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.

James (Dick) Sr. Gosse
GOSSE, James (Dick) Sr. – Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, July 10th, 2004, aged 81 years. Predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Mary; brother Joseph and sisters Margaret and Amelia (Babe), and wife Loretta (Tobin). Left with fond and loving memories, his children: Paul Gosse, Allison Prior-Scott (Bernie), Richard (Jill), Jimmy (fiancé Carol), Kenny (Linda); brother-in-law Jack; brother Edward (Marie); as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and friends. Patrick Joseph Hearn
HEARN, Patrick Joseph – passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, July 06, 2004, age 70 years. Predeceased by his wife Shirley, 2002. Leaving to mourn his children: Maria (Gerald Lewis), Cindy (Dave Dunn), Shawn, Patti-Ann (Fady Moustafa), Paul (Patricia); grandchildren: Jennifer, Michael, Stephen, Rebecca, Christopher, Adam, Stephanie, Andrew, Daniel, Joshua, Emily; brother John; mother-in-law Caroline Murphy, and the Murphy Family, as well as many other relatives and friends. Upon his request, cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass on Friday, July 9th, 2004, at 11:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of the Peace Church, Torbay Road. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. HICKEY, Angela A. (Riverhead, Harbour Grace) – passed away on July 17th, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer at Chancellor Park, Angela Hickey, age 82 years. Predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, William, on May 3rd, 2004. Leaving to mourn her great loss with many precious memories, son Bill (Carolyn); daughters: Brenda (John Stamp), Paulette (Cal Whalen); grandsons: Joel and Allan Hickey, Shannon and Aaron Stamp; sister Mary Clarke and her family; sister-in-law Marjorie Brazil, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends, including special friend and neighbor for 56 years, Dorothy Coombs. Predeceased by her husband Jack and infant son Leo; sisters: Mary, Margaret, Kit and Olive; brothers Mike and Thomas. HOLDEN, Mary- Passed peacefully away at home in the presence of family, Friday, July 30, 2004, Mary Holden (nee Aylward) in her 82nd year. Predeceased by her infant daughter Daphne and husband Peter. Leaving with cherished memories her children: Gerry (Lynda), Gander, Kay (Bob Connors), Joe (Elizabeth), Marg (John Henley), Australia, Marie (Mike Stoyles), Peter (Suzanne), Winnipeg, Patsy (Dennis Holmes), Ontario, Pat (Marion), Ontario, Janet (Bill Lacey), Nick (Krista), Sydney (Clarence Merrigan), Alberta, Paul (Kelli), Alberta, Florence (Dana Caning) and Carmel (Peter Chan), Alberta; sister Ann Holden; sisters-in-law Myrtle Aylward, Mary Aylward and June Holden; 40 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. As per Mom's request, cremation has taken place. Visitation at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Thursday, August 5th, 2004 from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Mass of Celebration will be held at Corpus Christi Church, Waterford Bridge Road, 9:30 a.m., Friday, August 6th, 2004. Miller Center, Palliative Care Unit after a lengthy illness with cancer, Gerard Johnson, aged 56 years. Predeceased by his parents James and Ellen; sisters: Elizabeth Cooper and Patricia; brother-in-law: Jim Butt. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Lorraine; daughter: Tracy (GJ.); brothers: Jim (Ann), Joe (Carmelita), and Garry; brothers-in-law: Bas Butt (Audrey), Bob Butt and Melvin Cooper (Barb) of Kitchener, Ontario; sisters-in-law: Betty Campbell (Nelson), Joan Schulter, Irene Anderson; aunt and uncle Dira and Doss Stout of King George, Virginia. Very special friends Edith and Alvin Hussey. As well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Peggy; precious son Michael (Stephanie); daughter Jennifer; mother Ann Kenny; only brother Mike (Juanita); two special nephews, Matthew and Adam; mother-in-law Eliza Phillips of Bonavista; brothers-in-law Ron Phillips (Alvina) and Harvey Phillips; sister-in-law Lisa Phillips, all of Bonavista; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. James Andrew Keough
KEOUGH, James Andrew (July 27th, July 24th, 2004) – It is with great sadness that his family announces the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Jim ws born in Calvert on the Southern Shore, and passed from us at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to mourn, and to cherish many beautiful memories, his wife of 46 years, Anna (O’Brien); eight children: Maxine, Noel (Linda Grandinetti), Renee (Sean Penney), Karl (Darlene Finn), Glenn (Susan Pollett), Karen (Bob Richard), Gemma (John Noseworthy) and Francine; seven grandchildren: Eric, Daniel, Ceara, Bronwyn, Joanna, Christopher and Nicolas; five sisters: Catherine Sullivan, Sr. Adrienne Keough, Marie Sullivan, Anna Condon and Elsie Power, as well as many nieces, nephews, other close family and friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret, and brothers Karl, Kevin and Aiden. We welcome those who wish to pay their respects and celebrate his life at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road.
