Dorothy Flaherty
FLAHERTY, Dorothy (nee Dunne) – Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, October 05, 2004, after a short illness, Dorothy Flaherty of Goulds, age 84, formerly of LeMarchant Road. Predeceased by her husband Major John F. O’Flahery, January, 1989; her brothers William, Harold, Edward and Ronald; and her sisters Helen, Agnes, Frances and Mary. Leaving to mourn her sister Kathleen Pilgrim, brother James Dunne, Witless Bay; caregivers and nieces Carol O’Brien (Vincent) and Michelle Downey (James): sisters-in-law Rita Dunne and Rose Dunne; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews, as well as personal care worker Kathy Chafe. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Tuesday from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 7th, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. from St. Kevin’s Church, Goulds. Cremation to Follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Signal Hill Tattoo.

Catherine Hall
HALL, Catherine (nee Stamp) - Passed peacefully away, on October 8th, 2004, at the L.A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit, Catherine Mary (Kitty) Hall, age 95. Predeceased by her husband Jack (1968), son-in-law Ern Rideout (1970), son Jack (1990) and granddaughter Cathy Ryan-McKeown (2003). Left to mourn with precious memories 4 daughters: Marie Murphy (Gerald), Bette (Rideout) Eavis; Catherine Hodder (Jim) and Sheila Lacey (Alex): daughter-in-law Cathy Hall; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews and her many friends. Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Saturday 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, Patrick Street at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 11th, 2004. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre.

Gabriel Hewitt-Ryall
HEWITT-RYALL, Gabriel – Passed peacefully away at her home on October 15, 2004, Gabriel Hewitt-Ryall, age 4 months. Predeceased by her great-grandmother Olive Baker. Leaving to mourn her parents, Calvin Hewitt and Kelly Ryall; three brothers: Christian age 7, Dylan age 3 and Dakota age 21 months; grandparents, Charlie and Phyllis Ryall and Aleitha Dryaton of Indiana and her special Aunt Theresa Fletcher. Also leaving to mourn are her uncles Tony Ryall (Linda) (and their children Curtis and Brendan), Cortney Drayton, Horus Drayton and her Aunt Jackie Drayton of Indiana; as well as numerous cousins and friends in Newfoundland and Toronto. Cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment will follow at the General Protestant Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Janeway Children’s Wish Foundation.

Sheila Hong
HONG, Sheila – Passed peacefully away in the presence of her adoring family on October 8, 2004, aged 65 years, of Mount Pearl. Leaving to mourn her loving husband of 41 years, Mel; her children Blair (Andrea), Janet (James), Dahna (Brad), Valerie (Jason), all of St. John’s. Also leaving to mourn, her brother Bernard (Shelley) Martin, Marie (Bob) Haynes, Irene Martin, Anna (Don) Hong, Nora (Steve) Penney, Pauline Moon, Mary (Tom) Roblin, Margie Martin. Predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Mary Martin, and brother Danny. Sheila will be terribly missed by her extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a large circle of friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Sunday, October 10, 2004 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at Mary Queen of the World Parish, Topsail Road on Monday, October 11, 2004 at 9:30 a.m.

Blanche Mary Jones
JONES, Blanche Mary – Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on October 30th, 2004. Predeceased by her son John Edward Jones on August 18, 2004. Leaving with loving memories her daughter Coleen Jones and grandchildren Jason Roberts, Justin Roberts and Alexandra Jones. Also leaving to mourn Mabel Jones, Teresa Jones, Robert Babb, Wilson Roberts and a circle of family friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Sunday from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Service on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2004, at 10 a.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Patrick’s Mercy Home Foundation.

Madeline Kennedy
KENNEDY, Madeline (nee Constantine) - Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex on Friday, 1 October, 2004, Madeline Kennedy of St. John's, aged 79. Predeceased by husband Leonard Caul in 1957; husband Charles Kennedy in 1991 and brother Thomas Constantine. Left with fond and loving memories her sons: Tony Caul (wife Judy), Mount Pearl and Terry Kennedy of St. John's; her adored granddaughter Andrea Caul (fiance Liam McNamara), St. John's; her sisters: Carmel Mullins (Pat) and Doreen Chubbs (Gordon), St. John's; her sister-in-law Christine Constantine, St. John's, and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Friday, 1 October, 2004 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 12 noon, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Monday, 4 October, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. from St. Teresa's Parish, Mundy Pond Road with Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Llewellyn Jones Lawson
LAWSON, Llewellyn Jones – Passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Homes, surrounded by his family on October 9th, 2004, in his 95th year. Predeceased by his wife Gertrude; sisters Emma and Eleven; brothers: Ralph, George and James. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, son Arthur (Libby); daughter Shirley Holden (Fred); sister Marie (Curtis); brother Steven; beloved grandfather to four grandchildren, Rodger, Michael, Linda and Keith; five great-grandchildren: Janine, Paul, Emma, Leam and Camron; also a large number of relatives and friends. John Henry MacKeil
MacKEIL, John Henry (Hank) - passed away on Tuesday, October 5th, 2004, at his home in Portugal Cove-St. Philips in his 58th year, John Henry (Hank) MacKeil. Predeceased by his parents, Blaine and Florence and brother Jimmy of Caribou, Nova Scotia. Left to mourn are his wife Beth; daughter Kim; son-in-law Tyler White and 2 grandchildren: Taylor and Caleb; sister Carolyn Gunning (Jim); brothers: Alf (Penny), Clinton (Helen), David, Rankin; numerous nieces and nephews and the Duggan family. Special thank you to best friend and brother-in-law, Joe Duggan, his wife Chris and sister-in-law Rosemary Duggan for the continued support. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. MAHON, Patrick J. – Passed peacefully away on Sunday, October 17th, 2004, Patrick J. Mahon, of Torbay, aged 89 years. Predeceased by his parents, John and Annie Mahon; son John; three brothers: Jackie (Agnes), William and Aflred; and sister Josephine Doyle. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 61 years, Josephine; five daughters: Eleanor Carew (Joe), Catherine Picco (John), Jeanette Shea (Chris), Geraldine Murray (Tom), Mary Noseworthy (Paul); five sons: Gordon, Kevin, Paul, David (Bonita) and Larry (Brenda); brothers: Mike (Eleanor), Jimmy (Marg), Joseph (Kay), Leo (Rea) and Walter (Betty); sisters: Mary Fleming, Alice Murrin (John), Theresa Crowe (Mike); brother-in-law Patrick Doyle; sisters-in-law: Nellie Mahon, Patsy Mahon and Mary Murphy; special friend Michael Rogers (Allyson); eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. MARTIN, Joan (nee Hearn)- Passed peacefully away on October 3, 2004, at the L.A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit, Joan Mary Martin, age 71. Predeceased by her husband Robert Joseph. Leaving to mourn two daughters Mary Catherine and Jo-Ann (Richard) Murphy and four sons, Robert (Carol), William (Margaret), Michael (Tere) and Ted; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her sisters: Alfreda (Pat) Walsh, Bernadette (Edward) Daigle, Vera (Kevin) Flynn, Catherine (Pat) Greene, Donna (Vincent) McDonald; brothers: Leonard, Joseph (Audrey), and Michael (Terry); her nieces and nephews, aunt Vera Tremblett and special close friend Florence Williams and other residents of Mount Pleasant Manor. William Francis Murphy
MURPHY, William Francis – Passed peacefully away at the L. A. Miller Centre on Thursday, October 28, 2004, age 70 years. Predeceased by his parents, John and Amelia. Left with fond and loving memories, his wife Marie (nee Connolly); sons: William (Michele) and Ronald (Rhonda); four precious grandchildren: Chad, Mackenzie, Madison and Kristen; sister Eileen Neary, Toronto; brothers: Leo (Anne), John (Veronica), Edward (Anna); sisters-in-law: Shirley Shaw (Leo), Margaret Connolly; brother-in-law Patrick Connolly (Josephine); as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Francis Bernard Myler
MYLER, Francis Bernard – Passed peacefully away Sunday October 24, 2004 at the Caribou Veterans Pavilion. Frank Myler, of the Goulds, aged 76 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories his wife Margaret (nee O’Brien) of 46 years; loving father of Gary (Connie), Susan, Danny (Molly) and Jimmy (Wanda); and his beloved grandchildren Joanne, Danielle, Tiffany, Mark and Evan; brothers Patrick and Kevin (Slyvia); sister Helen, Kay, Irene and Pauline; along with many other relatives and friends. O’BRIEN, Maurice C. – passed away suddenly at his residence in Mount Pearl on Saturday, October 16th, 2004, Maurice O’Brien, aged 61 years (longtime employee of Newfoundland Power). Predeceased by his parents John, 1994, and Mary, 2003. Left with many precious memories are his sons: Adam (girlfriend April Snow), Stephen in BC, Maurice Jr. in Ontario; sisters: Cathy Breen (Bud), Margie Osmond (Sam) and Joni Snow (Dave) and their families. His very special girlfriend Lynne Dolmont and family; close friends Randy and Dot Soulier, Bill and Dot Barron, as well as many other relatives and friends.
