O’KEEFE, Mary Alice – age 94 years, most assuredly gone to her heavenly rest, Mary Alice, born January 14, 1910, died at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, September 4, 2004. Predeceased by her father, ex-Head Constable Richard and mother Mary Josephine (Sutton). No immediate family; relatives at St. John’s and Placentia. Forever missed and deeply loved by all whose lives she touched – especially her “almost son” Arthur Callahan, (Cynthia and her children) and Maria, John and Katie Callahan. Also, very special friend Dr. Elizabeth Callahan. Flowers graciously accepted. PENNEY, Helen Mary (nee Quigley) – age 72 years, passed peacefully away on September 7th, 2004, surrounded by her devoted loving family: husband Austin, daughters, Karen Laite (Rick), Peggy, Donna Osmond (Tony) and Leah Chaulk (Doug) and son Barry; her grandchildren whom she adored, Jason, Neil, Michael, Jonathon, Ryan, Penny, Andrew, Matthew and Jordan; her loving sister Joan (Les O’Brien). Predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret Quigley, and brother Ted. Also leaving to mourn a large number of relatives and friends in the Penney and Quigley Families. Florence St. George
St. George, Florence -passed away suddenly at the Health Science Centre on Sunday, September 12, 2004, age 68 years, and a resident of the Kinsmen’s Senior Manor in Torbay for the past 3 years. Predeceased by her husband (Patrick St. George); mother & father (Patrick & Stella Kennedy) and her sister (Marie Quinlan), her brother George Kennedy. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her 10 children, Barbara Ann Pinsent (Garry); Linda Quinlan (Jim); Stella Flight (Mervin); Alice Kielty (John); Patricia Tremblett (Joseph) Patrick St. George, Jr (Trudy); Margaret Rose Gullage (Milton Newbury); Jim St. George; Kim St. George; Vanessa Furey (Joe); 17 grandchildren and 5 great grand children; also her brothers Don Kennedy (Carol), Kevin Kennedy (Gen) and her sister Mary Slaney (Michael) and a large circle of relatives and friends.
A special thank you to the staff at 4 North A at the Health Science Center and a special thank you to Dr. Kara Laing (her angel) at the Cancer Clinic.
Florence will be resting at Caul’s Funeral Home in Torbay on Sunday, September 12th and Monday, September 13 from 10:00 - 7:00 p.m. There will also be a memorial service in Buchans on Wednesday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m.
