POWERS -- Donald Edward Powers of Stalwart Sask., age 85 years passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 27th. 2001 at the Long Lake Valley Integrated Facility, Imperial Sask. Don is survived by his loving family : wife, Vera : son, Dr. Peter (Eugenia) Powers : grandson John Donald Powers, cousin, Patricia (Harvey) Mooney : sister Agnes (Emiel) Dahms & also other family members. Don was predeceased by his parents James & Elizabeth Powers and an infant daughter Margaret. The Vigil of Prayers will be held on Friday March 30th. 2001 at 7:30 P.M. from St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. The celebration of Don's life funeral mass will be celebrated by Rev. Father Keith Moreau on Saturday March 31st. 2001 at 10:00 AM from the St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church Imperial Sask. Interment family plot Wolfton Cemetery Stalwart Sask. FORSYTH -- REGINALD (REG) passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving family on Tuesday, August 7, 2001 at the Pasqua Hospital at the age of 77 years. Predeceased by his son Kirk in 1980, Reg is survived by Avis, his wife of 52 years, son Doug (Lynn) and grandsons, Preston, Matthew and Conor all of Australia. Reg is also survived by his brother Jack (Anne) of Regina and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Reg had a full and successful life. He joined the Air Force at age 17 and served in India and England. He returned from the war and joined Sask Tel where he worked for 38 years. In his retirement he was an active member of the Wascana Country Club where he was awarded a Life Membership in 1998. Winters were spent in his second home at Sun City, Arizona where he enjoyed his golf and his many friends. In the words of his grandsons he was "A Legend" famous for a wonderful sense of humour, joy of life and his abiding love for his family. There will be a Private Family Graveside Service on Friday, August 10, 2001.

LINCOLN -- Maxine Jean Lincoln of Bellingham, WA, formerly of Regina, passed away at the age of 74 years on July 29, 2001. Maxine was born January 18, 1927 in Los Angeles, CA to William and Marie (Parker) Jolly. Maxine was educated in Regina and taught school in Indian Hill, SK during the 1940's. She marriage Kenneth Lincoln and moved to Whittier, CA where she raised five children. In 1983 she moved with her husband to Bellingham, WA and was later joined by her four surviving children. Predeceased by her husband Kenneth C. Lincoln, parents William and Marie Jolly, son Mark W. and grandson Mark J. Lincoln, and sister Rosemary Ullyott. Maxine is survived by sons, Corey of Bellingham, WA, Brian of Idaho, daughters, Maureen Lincoln of Bellingham and Renee Akins of Whidbey Island, WA, four sisters, Genevieve Freeman of CA, Marina Bell of Abbotsford, BC, Patsy Kozack of Regina, Judy Ottarda of CA, seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on August 3, 2001 in the Assumption Catholic Church in Bellingham, WA.
LUKINCHUK -- On Saturday, August 4, 2001 Alexander Peter Lukinchuk, late of Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., passed away at the age of 52 years. He was predeceased by his father Alec and sister-in-law Shirley Lukinchuk. Alexander is survived by his son Russell Keller as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2001 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK with Rev. Ron Sutton, officiating.

PENNO -- MARGARET "MARDI" ESTELLE passed away peacefully on August 7, 2001. She was born in Killarney, Manitoba on April 18, 1923. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Leonard "Len" Anthony Penno; and her two sons: Robert Grant (Liz) Holden of Regina, and Bryan Paul (Elaine) Holden of Vernon, BC. Nana is lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered with love by her sister, Edith (Mickey) Lewis; her daughter-in-law Thelma Whiting; her long time friend Marg Hewson; as well as many other dear relatives and friends. Mardi is predeceased by her first husband Robert "Bob" Holden; her parents: Louis and Ruth Roach; and her brother James "Jim" Roach. Mardi was associated with sports as a young woman and in her later years she loved her cats, knitting, collecting and antiques. Mardi's life was devoted to her family and friends. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Friday, August 10, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East. -- Roy left this world to behold the Kingdom of God. Joyce, Ernie, Julie, Justine, Georgina, Night, Airi, and Val were by his side as the Lord took him home. He is survived by many nieces and nephews who will miss his humble company.
He leaves behind brothers Lawrence, William, Steve, and sister Judy; sisters-in-law Rosalie and Flora.
Wake service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9 at Sakimay Band Hall. A Sunrise Pipe Ceremony will be held at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10th at the Sakimay Band Hall. Traditional Feast at 11:00 a.m. on Friday to be followed by the Service, officiated by Brother Clark Stevenson.
Internment will be held at the Sheesheep Cemetery.
SAKUNDIAK -- MOURIENE MAY was born on October 15, 1931 and passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 2, 2001. Predeceased by her husband Walter; her parents: Stan and Marie Heard; and her parents-in-law: Alex and Annie Sakundiak. Mouriene leaves to cherish her memory her children: son Walter Stan and his children: Holly and Matthew and their mother Melody; daughter Carla (Mike) Koot and their family: Jessica (Mike) Lindenbach, JR, and Porscha; one special great-grandson Jonas Lindenbach; plus extended family and special friends. Mouriene will be greatly remembered for the kindness she showed to others through her business ventures, her volunteer work and to those whose lives she touched in her own special way. Mouriene was laid to rest beside her husband Walter at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in a private ceremony. The family wishes to thank all those who have supported Mouriene through her life. A special mention is made to Aunt Roseann who was a friend and a sister at heart. SEED -- William Archibald, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2001 at the age of 91. Bill was born in England on February 6, 1910. He grew up on a farm in the Kelvington area. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Ivy; his brother Harry; and his parents. Bill is survived by his son George of Regina; step grandchildren: Laura Agarand of Regina and Scott Agarand of Saskatoon; one sister Ella Smith of Ainsdale, England; sister-in-law Stella Seed of Rose Valley; nephews, Carl (Mary) Seed of Saskatoon, Gordon (Terry) Seed of Fort Saskatchewan, Alta., Henry Seed of Picton, Ont. and Clifford (Shirley) Seed of Jaffrey, B.C.; niece Sylvia Picot of Regina and their families. Bill served in the Army in WWII. During his lifetime he worked as a farmer, carpenter, barber and commissionaire. Bill spent many happy times camping and fishing with his brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Stella, also his good friends. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 10, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue with Rev. Ronald H. Sutton officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. ZESS: STEWART THOMAS -- Stewart was born November 11, 1978 in Regina, Sask. He started his schooling in LaRonge, Sask. in 1983 at Gateway Elementary School. On returning to Regina in 1984 he was enrolled at St. Peter's where he completed his elementary education. He then went on to O'Neill High to complete his secondary education. He also attained his fireman's certificate at Wascana Institute. Stewart's love of the outdoors was spawned in scouting where he started as a Beaver in LaRonge. As a member of St. Timothy's 49th he continued on in Beaver's, Cubs, Scouts, where he earned his Chief Scouts Award, on to Ventures and Rovers. At the time of his death he was Akala to St. Timothy's Cub Pack where he had served as a leader for five years. Stewart's other love was the Royal Regina Rifles where he served his Country since he was seventeen. He had followed in his brother's footsteps joining the infantry and had worked his way in the ranks as a rifleman and on to the rank of Corporal. He was working as a cadet trainer and store keeper at the Mary Lake area camp for cadet camp north of Whitehorse at the time of his death sometime in the morning of Monday, August 6, 2001. Stewart is survived by his loving mother Mary Doreen (nee) Schmidt, his father Jack Gilroy Zess, his sister Michelle Leora and brother-in-law Trevor Gleim, his brother Shane Patrick and sister-in-law Cara and their son Brayden, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to mention. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. in St. Peter's R.C. Church, 100 Argyle St., Regina, SK with Rev. K. Koep, Celebrant. Interment to follow in Riverside Memorial Park. Prayers will be held on Friday, August 10, 2001 at 7:00 P.M. in the Church. Flowers declined.
