DORIS NORRIS (Nee JOHNSTONE)
1928-1998
The family announces with great sorrow her death on Sunday, June 28, 1998 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 70. She is survived by 2 brothers Reginald (Butsy) Johnstone of Timmins and Garnet Johnstone of Toronto; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Norris in 1965; her parents Malvina and William Johnstone; 3 sisters Blanche MacMillan, Agnes Shulist and Ona Dupuis; 7 brothers Warren, William, Harry, Leonard, Vernon, Harold and Oliver Johnstone. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 1998 at the St. Matthew's Cathedral in Timmins. Cremation to follow. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. at the Stephens-Lessard Funeral Home, Timmins.

NELSON (SONNY) DANIS
1924-1998
The family announces with great sorrow his death on Saturday, June 27th, 1998 at the Timmins and District Hospital, at the age of 74. He was predeceased by his son Robert Danis in 1992. He is survived by his wife Ida Danis; his children Tom (Rose) Danis, Suzanne (Denis) Tremblay, Kathleen (Marcel) Nault, Nicole (Gerry) Bond, all of Timmins, and Jean-Marc (Gail) Danis of Yellowknife; his grandchildren Renee, Natalie, Angel, Todd, Stephane, Patrick, Venessa, Christopher, Stephanie and Mickey; and by his sister Viola Gravel of Timmins. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 1998 at St. Dominique Church. Interment at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Stephens-Lessard Funeral Home, Timmins.

AGNAS LAFLEUR
1912-1998
The family announces with sorrow his death at his residence on Saturday, November 28, 1998 at age 86 years. Husband of the late Germaine (nee Lauzon) pre-deceased 1995. Dear father of Marcel (wife Lorraine) of Timmins, Claudette Lafleur of Embrun, Ont., Suzanne Lafleur of Angers, P.Q., Leo (wife Margaret) of Timmins, Gilles (Late Gail 1995) of Timmins, Nicole Lafleur of Hull, P.Q., Jean of Timmins, Bernard (wife Judy) of St. Lazare, P.Q., Robert (wife Maureen) of Timmins, Richard (wife Chantal) of Timmins, Michel (wife Barbara of Timmins and Marie Claire (Mrs. Ron Boudreau) of Timmins. Dearest grandfather of 25 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Brother of Geraldine Bergeron of Drummondville, P.Q., Leontine St. Aubin of Timmins, Victor (wife Juliette) of Cornwall and Daniel Lafleur of Timmins. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law Rolande Lafleur (1998). A pioneer in Timmins, Agnas was born in Otter Lake, Quebec and came to Timmins in 1934. He was employed for 30 years as a miner at the Hollinger Mine until its closure. As a local farmer, he started Lafleur Gardens in 1966 with his family. In 1981 his sons took over operation of the business, however Agnas was still very active in the day to day operations. Agnas was a member of LaRonde Cultural Centre. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 1998 at 12:00 noon from St. Sauveur Church. Interment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to ``Developpement et Paix,'' The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation or masses would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.

MR. JACK RATCLIFFE
1931-1998
Peacefully at his home in Brower, Sunday, November 29th, 1998, at the age of 67 years. Dear husband of Janet, beloved father of Janet (Rod) Covert of Huntsville, Julie (Pat) O'Neill of Aurora, and his step-son Dan (Karen) O'Keeffe of Pembroke, and greatly loved grandfather of nine. Jack also leaves his brothers Ian, Roy and Keith Ratcliffe, all of England. He was predeceased by his first wife Phyllis Ratcliffe. He will be missed by many friends and by his co-workers from the OPP. Jack was a long time active member of the Cochrane Lions Club and the Cochrane Community Choir. Friends may call at Salon Funeraire Irvine & Irving Funeral Home, 149 Third Street, Cochrane, on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 1st, 1998, at 3:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. ROLAND MALO
1927-1998
The family announces with sorrow his death on Sunday, November 29, 1998, at the Extendicare Nursing Home, Schumacher, at the age of 71. He is survived by his mother Alice Malo of Guigues, Que.; his sisters Regina Caron of Earlton, Jeannine Lavoie of Iroquois Falls, Lucienne Caya (Gilles) of Villemarie, Que., Fernande Rocheleau (Joseph) of Niagara Falls, Annette Bernard (Horace) of Dowling, Emilienne St. Onge (Francois) of North Bay, Francoise McLean (Patrick) of Kamloops, B.C., and Angelique Gamache of Montreal, Que.; his brothers Gabriel Malo (Alberte) of Woodstock, Daniel Malo of Timmins and Gaetan Malo of Guigues, Que. and also by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Emilie Malo and a sister Agathe Malo. No visitation. A memorial service will be held (date and time to be announced later) at the Stephens-Lessard Funeral Home Chapel. Remembrance donations to the Lung Association would be greatly appreciated. NOELLA GARNEAU
1921-1998
The death occurred at the Timmins and District Hospital on Monday, November 30, 1998 of Mrs. Noella Garneau, aged 76, of Timmins. She is survived by her son Michael Garneau of Timmins and by her companion Andy Michelberger of Timmins. No Visitation. Remembrance donations to the Friends of Animal would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Stephens-Lessard Funeral Home, Timmins.

DARLENE MAIRS (Nee TENCH)
1950-1998
After a lengthly struggle with leukemia, Darlene died on Sunday surrounded by her husband David, daughters Shawna and Erin, her son Tyler and her mother Florence Tench. She also leaves her brothers Russell (Irma) of New Liskeard and Melvin (Gail) of Montgomery, Ala., and many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements have not been finalized. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to Princess Margaret Lodge, 545 Jarvis St., Toronto, would be greatly appreciated. Mr. William Bill Sowa
1933-1999
passed away suddenly at the home of his youngest daughter Doreen in Janetville, Ontario, Sunday, April 18th, 1999, at the age of 65 years. Beloved husband of Beulah Duffy, dearest father of Jayne (Jacques) Rioux of Iroquois Falls, Marilyn (Rejean) Lessard of Val GagnÄ, and Doreen (Brad) Graham of Janetville, Ontario, special grandfather of Kayla and Jade. Mr. Sowa will be fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters: Helen (Konrad) Kotewicz of Scotland, ON, Frieda Rudnicke of Mississauga, ON, George (Ellen) Sowa of Iroquois Falls, Zygmunt (Sharon) Sowa of Iroquois Falls, Stella Welton, Irene (Glen) Bellinger, and Jenny (Bob) Mead, all of Brantford, ON. He will also be remembered by his mother-in-law Leah Duffy of North Bay, his brothers-in-law Gerard (Patricia) Duffy of Thunder Bay and Lloyd (Elizabeth) Duffy of Huntsville. Mr. Sowa was predeceased by his parents Wojciech Sowa and Rosa Szewczyk, and by his father-in-law Edward Duffy. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Shawn Vaillancourt, Carrie Anne Thibeault (Randy), Tammy Lynn Vaillancourt, Terry George Vaillancourt, 2 great-grandchildren Matthew and Cody Thibeault, 1 brother Clarence Noseworthy, many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. THERESE PINION (NEE NUMAINVILLE)
passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 1999 at the Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane at the age of 62 years. Mrs. Pinion was predeceased by her husband Thomas (Ted) Pinion. Loving mother of Donald (wife Carole) Pinion of Cochrane and Annette Lamothe (husband Gaetan) of Cochrane and Doris Bruneau (husband Steve) of Cochrane. Loving grandmother of Jody, Brian, Maxime, Maryse, Maurice, and Stephanie and one great-grandchild Tristan. Survived by her sister Yvette Marin (husband Ernest) of Timmins and by her sisters-in-law, Gilberte Numainville of Timmins and Gaetane Numainville of Timmins. Mrs. Pinion was predeceased by her parents Leon and Lydia Numainville, by one grandson Jason Tverdal and by two brothers Roland Numainville and Roger Numainville. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the Transfiguration Church in Cochrane with Father Fernand Villeneuve officiating. Interment to follow this spring at the Cochrane Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chenier Gauthier Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 21, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. and on Thursday, April 22, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral. 1926-1999

Dear brother of Jeannette Kingsbury of Timmins, Fernand (wife Mariette) of Sudbury, Sylvio (wife Nicole) of Cobalt, Ronald of Ottawa, Laurette Lavigne of Timmins, Florence Coutu of Timmins, Doreen (Mrs. Roger Cleroux) of Hamilton, Diane Thibert of Ottawa, and Suzanne (Mrs. Yvan Boissonneault) of Timmins. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Rose Goulet of Timmins as well as many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his mother Eugenie (nee Leduc) in 1976 and his father Adoris in 1953 as well as his brothers and sisters Darius, Maurice, Germaine, Rene and Lucien and his brothers-in-law Jack Kingsbury, Leo Lavigne and Roland Boucher and sister-in-law Laurette McLean-Goulet. Lawrence was well-known as being a taxi driver for both Burnette's and Vet's Taxi Service for many years. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 1999 from the Miron-Wilson Funeral Chapel. A reception will follow in the funeral home reception centre. Remembrance donations to the Dialysis Unit of the Timmins and District Hospital or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated. ELMER JOHNSTON
1915-1999

Dear father of Ronald (wife Bertha) of Australia, Harold (Margaret) of Timmins, Richard (wife Sheila) of South Porcupine, Patricia (Mrs. John Johnson) of Calgary, John of Toronto, Clinton of London, Gordon of Owen Sound, Sylvia (Mrs. Tony Makuch) of Richmond Hill, Robert (mate Bruce Johnson) of Toronto, Larry (Linda) of South Porcupine and Judith Johnston of Los Angeles. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by his granddaughter Lori Johnston (1990) as well as 8 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 1999 from the Miron-Wilson Funeral Chapel. Interment at Tisdale Cemetery. KEN ONOTSKY
1939-1999
The family announces with great sorrow his sudden death at home on Sunday, November 14, 1999 at age 60 years. Beloved husband of Patricia 'Pat' Raiche-Onotsky and dearest father of Michael (wife Janice) of Waterloo and Steven (wife Lyn) of Toronto. Dear step-father of Nicole Raiche-Horton (husband Christopher) of Hamilton and Michel Raiche (wife Diane) of Timmins. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joseph, Jacob and Cameron Onotsky, Paul and Michelle Raiche, his sister Sandra Burns of Sudbury as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents Michael and Ann Onotsky and his brother Robert Onotsky (1994). Ken was a former architectural design associate with Osborne, Cotnam and Associates for many years and currently owned and operated Design Centre North-Loewen Windows in Timmins. He marriage his wife Pat in Timmins on February 14, 1987 and had been an avid curler and longtime member of the Hollinger Golf Club including being the chairman of the Hollinger Expansion Committee. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 1999 from St. Alphonsus Church, Schumacher. Interment Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the St. Martin de Porres Fund would be appreciated. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
