Surrounded by his loving family Bill passed away peacefully on Monday July 30th, 2001 at his home in South Porcupine. Beloved husband of Elaine (Price ) at home. Dear father of Timothy (wife Aurelda Dupuis) Smith of South Porcupine and Alexander (wife Julie) Cochrane of Timmins. Loved brother of Mary (Mrs. Elwyn Gummerson) of Tavistock, Virginia (Mrs. Fernand Gagne) of Nepean, Jean (Mrs. Don Oakes) of Kitchener, Alexandra (Mrs. Dennis Coombes), Margaret, John, Elizabeth and Dorothy all of South Porcupine, and Steve (wife Denise) of Shillington. Beloved grandfather of Alexander, Justin and Samantha Cochrane and Darian Recoskie. Dear son-in-law of Hilda Price and Harry Price and brother-in-law to Linda and Gilles Perrier of Timmins, Jack & Janice Price of Nanaimo B.C., Harold Price of Ottawa, Steve & Wende Price of South Porcupine and Carl Braun of Simcoe. Bill will be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Alexandru in Dec. 1993, mother Amelia in Nov. 1997, sisters Helen in 1960, Ruth in 1994 and a brother Joseph in 1960. He was born in Timmins on May 2, 1937 and has lived and worked in the South Porcupine Area all of his life. Bill was a hardworking and respected businessman, with many friends who will miss him. Donations in his memory will be graciously received through the funeral home to Spruce Hill Lodge, The Canadian Cancer Society of the Canadian Diabetes Association. A Funeral Service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday August 1st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marys Romanian Orthodox Church 94 Eighth Ave., Timmins, Father John Zivku officiating. Rite of Interment to follow in Tisdale Cemetery. Panahyda service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to Stinson Funeral Home 100 Bruce Ave., South Porcupine. WILLIAM PETER DAVIDSON
1926-2001
The family announces with great sorrow his death at the Timmins and District Hospital on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at the age of 74 years. Loving husband of Catherine (Nee Pettipas) and dear father of Arthur Davidson, Fran Shulist (husband Rick) and Theresa Davidson all of Timmins. Grandfather of Meaghan and Richard Shulist of Timmins. Brother of George Davidson (wife Miriam), Margaret MacQuarrie (husband Don) all of Windsor, Annie-Mae Davidson, Bernadette Chisholm (husband Billy) and Helen Deyong (husband Joe) all of Antigonish County, Nova Scotia. Also survived by his sister-in-law Joan Davidson of South Porcupine and several nieces & nephews, brothers & sisters-in-law in the Pettipas family and his mother-in-law Frances Pettipas of Antigonish County, Nova Scotia. William is predeceased by his parents; Emily (1986) and William (1985) Davidson, his brother James Davidson (1990), his father-in-law Arthur Pettipas (1972) and his two grandchildren; Amber-Lynn Shulist (July, 1988) and Krista Shulist (March, 1989). William was born on August 31, 1926 in Boston Massachusetts, USA. He marriage his bride Catherine (Nee Pettipas) on August 6, 1959 in Antigonish County, Nova Scotia. They moved to Timmins in that same year where he and Catherine raised their family and where William worked at the McIntyre Mine. The couple shared 42 beautiful years of marriage together. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2001 from Sacred Heart Church. Interment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.

KEVIN PAYETTE
1966-2001
The family announces with sorrow his sudden death as a result of a mining accident at the St. Josephs Health Centre, Sudbury, ON, on Sunday, July 29, 2001 at the age of 35 years. Beloved husband of Helene Blais and her three children Bryce, Chance and Breeze. Loving son of John Al and Loretta Payette of Timmins. Dear brother of Peter Payette of Timmins, Tanya Payette of Toronto and Teryl-Lee Stevenson of Timmins. Loving uncle of Katy, Keith, Natasha, Tanya, Sherry and Jenna. He will be sadly missed by his good friend Liisa Payette of Timmins and by his mining partner: DAD. Kevin leaves behind many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Kevin was a well known and respected miner who worked for Dome, Kidd Creek and Falconbridge mines. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a person who was generous and giving who touched the hearts of all who new him. Although Kevin never had any children on his own, he had a chance at fatherhood and a great one he was. The happiness he gave to the children was returned to him threefold. In our hearts, he will always be remembered as Monsieur Kevin. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in the Miron-Wilson funeral home chapel (Fr. Les Costello officiating). Interment at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the Asthma Society would be greatly appreciated. Loving grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Jean-Marie Boudreault and Franìois Xavier Boudreault of La Baie, QC. Brother of Robert McCaw of Newmarket and brother-in-law of Sandra Howells of Oshawa. John was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Howells. John was born in Essex, England and had been a resident of the Porcupine Camp for 53 years. He was employed by Texas Gulf for 26 years, retiring in 1992. Donations in his memory will be graciously received through the funeral home to North Eastern Regional Cancer Centre & House of Kin, Sudbury. WAYNE LATHAM
The family announces with great sorrow his death on Saturday, July 28, 2001 at Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 54. Survived by his wife, Sandi, his daughter Jennifer (Gary), son Jeff and his special buddy, his grandson, Christian. Also survived by his sister Flo (Don) Reid, sister-in-law Marla Latham, mother-in-law Elsie Bennewies and brother-in-law Eric Bennewies (Debbie). He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Jean Latham, father Howard Latham, his brother Morley Latham, his sisters Grace Larmer and Kathleen Piekarski and brother-in-law Zeke Pierkarski. Wayne retired in 1996 after 30 years of service with the Ontario Provincial Police. He will also be remembered for his many years as a coach with minor hockey. Wayne also enjoyed spending time with family and friends on his boat at Kenogamissi Lake. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 in the chapel of Stephens-Lessard Funeral Home. Reception will be held at the Timmins Legion following the service. Remembrance donations to the Lords Kitchen or Timmins and District Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

DOUGLAS LOCKE
The family announces with great sorrow his death on Saturday July 28 in the Town of New Liskeard. He is predeceased by his wife Kathleen Locke. He is survived by his 3 children: Sheila, Wayne and Carmen; his 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Douglas was retired 30 years from Ontario Hydro and a former resident of Timmins.

Mr. Russell Skidmore
1924-2001
The Skidmore family is deeply saddened at the loss of Mr. John Russell Skidmore, at the Lady Minto Hospital, Cochrane, on Saturday, July 28th, 2001, at the age of 76 years. Mr. Skidmore was born in Cochrane on September 20th, 1924, the son of Mr. Thomas Bunting Skidmore and Mrs. Eva Annie Edith Skidmore (nee Arding). Beloved husband of Mrs. Margaret Jean Skidmore (nee Nelson), dearest father of Judy (Phillip Hearn) Skidmore of Espanola, Jane Skidmore-Fox of Cochrane, and Glen (Beth) Skidmore of Huntsville, grandfather of Graham Hearn of Waterloo, Lynn Hearn of Ottawa, Amy Fox of Cochrane, and Hayley Skidmore of Huntsville, grandfather to Ryan, Rachel, Kendal and Sarah Fleming, all of Moose Factory. Mr. Skidmore also leaves his brother George Wellington (Sheila) Skidmore of Cochrane, his sister-in-law Stella Skidmore and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Skidmore was pre-deceased by his son Rodney, his sister Betty, and by his brother Nelson. Mr. Skidmore was chairman of the Cochrane-Iroquois Falls Board of Education in the 1970's as well as a member of the Cochrane Municipal Council in the late 1970's. He was nominated for the Order of Ontario this year for his leadership in forest renewal in Ontario Crown land. Family and friends may call at Archbishop Anderson Memorial Church, Cochrane, on Tuesday from 10-11 am. Memorial Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 31st, 2001, at 11:00 am at Archbishop Anderson Memorial Church, Cochrane, with Canon Sharon Murdoch officiating. Interment at the Birchill Cemetery, Brower, at a future date. Donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Parish Bell Tower Fund and would be appreciated by the family. Predeceased by her husband Fred Cool in 1982, her daughter Lena Boychuk in 1997 and her son Roland Cool in 1970. Survived by her children Lucien Cool (wife-Jacqueline) of Timmins, Marcel Cool (wife-Diane) of Timmins and Rheal Cool (wife-Karen) of Moosonee; her daughter-in-law Eilleen Cool of Timmins; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday July 28, 2001 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church. Cremation. Remembrance donations to the St. Martin de Porres or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
