Watts, Alice
Alice Watts (Dagenais) of St. Thomas, on Monday, January 28, 2002, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late William Alfred Watts (Dec. 17, 1998) and dearly loved mother of Lloyd and his wife Faith of Banff, Alberta, Gary and his wife Marilyn of St. Thomas, Durrel of St. Thomas, June Hefferman of North Bay and Patricia and her husband Richard Harwood of Ardon, Ont. Dear sister-in-law of William Krupka of Timmins. Sadly missed by 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Thursday and then to St. Anne's Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment Holy Angels' Cemetery. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Visitation Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the St. Anne's Church Building Fund or charity of choice.

Dear mother of Randy (Cassandra) of Victoria, B.C., Ronald (Vilma) of Timmins, Carol (Roy) of Anaheim Hills, California and Bruce (Barb) of Edmonton, AB. Loving grandmother of Dwayne, Jamie, Shawn, Amanda, Matt, Robbie, Jennifer and Noella. Dear sister of Isabel Pangrass (late Carl) of Edmonton, AB., Bob Jackson (Bernice) of Pas, MB., Bud Jackson (Lenore) of Flin Flon, MB and Marjorie Zelent (Mike Lee) of Sherwood Park, AB. Ruth will be sadly missed by her many dear friends. Predeceased by her granddaughter Lee-Ann and by her parents Bob and May Jackson. The family would like to thank Irene and all the caring staff at the Timmins Extendicare and Golden Manor and you too Roy Davis. Ruth was known as the "Dock Lady" as she loved to sit on the dock and fish. She was also a past member of the Rebecca Lodge. Mrs. Catherine (Kay) Huzio
Peacefully, on Tuesday, January the 29th 2002 at the Timmins and District Hospital, aged 82 yrs of South Porcupine formerly of Schumacher. Loving mother of Joan (Mrs. John Halloran) of Belleville and Carol (Mrs. Fred Guacci) of Porcupine. Cherished grandmother of Lisa (Mrs. Richard Lamarche), Michael (wife Kristy) Guacci, Matthew Guacci, Steven & Patricia Halloran. Treasured sister of Mrs. Annie Tiech and John Procyk both of Montreal. She was predeceased by a brother Nick Procyk. Kay was born in Montreal and had been a resident of the Porcupine Camp for over 45 years. In lieu of flowers remembrances in her memory to the Arthritic Foundation will be graciously received through the funeral home. A funeral to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, Febraury 1st, 2002 at 11:00AM in St. Joachim's Church South Porcupine with Fr. The family announces with great sorrow his passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on Saturday, January 26, 2002 at the age of 53 years. Loving husband of Helene (Nee Lemire) of Timmins and dear father of Sylvie Sassville (husband Andre) and Paul Lariviere all of Sudbury. Precious grandfather of Nicholas Sassville also of Sudbury. Brother of Richard Lariviere (wife Carmen) of Timmins, Jocelyne Riopel (husband Jacques) of Timmins, Louise McKay (husband Joe) of Vancouver and Daniel Lariviere of Montreal. Survived by his step-mother Lillian "Lily" Lariviere of Timmins, many nieces & nephews and brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law. Predeceased by his mother Audrey Lefebvre (1993) and father Rheo Lariviere (1999). Denis was born in Timmins on March 3, 1948 and has resided here for most of his life. He worked as a salesman with Wall's Tire (known as "The Tire People") for over 18 years. Denis was a very positive man who had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to be outdoors. Dear sister of Aurore Martin of Gatineau, Aline Boucher of Gatineau, Leonie (Rheal Roussel) of Hull, Leo Bigras of Sudbury, Leon Bigras of Gatineau and Jean Bigras of Gatineau. She was predeceased by her parents Henri and Louisa Bigras, her brother Lionel Bigras and her sister Marie Servant (Feb./02). She is survived by many nieces and nephews. The family announces with great sorrow his death on Thursday June 6, 2002 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 82. Predeceased by his mother Saima Uitto in 1941, his father Matti Uitto in 1956, his brother Antti Uitto in 1983 and his sister Annikki in 1953. Survived by his wife Alli , his son Henry (Rosanne Villars) of Timmins, his daughter Aino (Robert Fontaine) of Sudbury, his grandsons Richard Uitto of Barrie, Greg Fontaine of Timmins and Brent Fontaine of Sudbury, his sister Terttu of Finland and his brothers Eero, Martti, Jussi and Teuvo Uitto all of Finland. Mr. Uitto was born on January 17, 1920 in Tainuskyla, Finland. He served for 5 years with the Finnish Army during WW II. He came to Timmins in 1951 and worked at the McIntyre Mine. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday June 8, 2002 in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. The family announces with sorrow her death at the Golden Manor on Friday, June 7, 2002 at the age of 96 years. Predeceased by her husband William Monette in 1981. Dear mother of Liliane Vickers of Timmins. Loving grandmother of Lynn Gervais, Joanne Rewegan, Paul Monette (Pauline) of Wahnapetea, Gisele Lemieux (Luke) of Ottawa, Lorraine Auger (George), Maurice Vaillancourt (Cathy), John Vaillancourt (Susan), Ray Vaillancourt (Corrine), Raymond Vickers (Denise), Madeleine Bertrand (Gil), Jacqueline Dubeau (Denis) and Dennis Vickers (Joanne) all of Timmins and Louise Rogers (Douglas) of North Bay. She is also survived by 32 great-grandchildren, eight great great-grandchildren and one brother-in-law Lucien Monette (Florence) of Blind River as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Maurice and Ida Poirier, her daughter Georgette Vaillancourt 1987, Laurent 1992, her son Maurice 1991, her daughter-in-law Gilberte 1991, her son-in-law George (Red) Vickers 1994. She was also predeceased by her brothers Lucien 1953 and Paul Poirier 1958. Alice was an avid Avon Representative in our community for 35 years having earned many awards for sales and performance. She also was a member of the Pine North Club for 15 years and many church organizations during her lifetime. We would like to thank the administration, staff, R.N.'s and assistants, especially those dedicated ones on West 2 of the Golden Manor for the great care given to mother during her stay since February 1989. Many thanks also to residents at the Manor and my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Smith for the great care given to my mother. AGAIN A GREAT THANK YOU. Peacefully on Friday, June 7th, 2002, at the Golden Manor, aged 64 years of South Porcupine. Beloved wife of Leon at home. Dear mother of Richard (Linda) Germain of South Porcupine, Leona (Eddy Chevier) of Val Caron and Elaine (Allan Chevier) of South Porcupine. Cherished Grams to Lindy-Lee, Justen, Adam, Ashley and Jessica. Linda is also survived by brothers Don (Esther), Conrad (Marilyn), Gaston (Lynda), Simon (Christine), Normand (Maria) and Robert (Lynne). Sisters Jackie (Ross) and Lucille (Doug). Mrs. Germain was predeceased by a daughter Janet and her parents Rolland and Bella Gelinas. She leaves behind brothers-in-law Omer (Anna), Micheal and Roger, many nieces, nephews and friends. Linda was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed music, dancing, her flower garden and the company of her grandchildren. Interment to be at the Porquis Cemetery at a later date. The family announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, July 30th, 2002, at Extendicare, aged 73 years of Schumacher. Brother of Diane Mahoney of South Porcupine, Shirley (Mrs. Ralph Rickey) of Mississauga, Donald (Mary) of Nova Scotia and sister-in-law Marilyn Mahoney of North Bay. Mr. Mahoney is survived by his daughters, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Ray was predeceased by his parents Dan & Livina, sister Ida Brunet and his brother Clifford. Mr. Mahoney had been a resident of the Porcupine Camp for most of his life. Ray loved music, he played the guitar and sang when he was able. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday August 2nd, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Father K. Stabrawa officiating. Interment to follow at Tisdale Cemetery. Dear father of Louisette Gagnon (friend Dan Larsen), Leonce Madore (wife Nicole), Laurent Madore (wife Annette), Mariette Lamothe (husband Richard) all of Timmins, Muriel Turgeon (husband Roger) of Iroquois Falls, Donald Madore (wife Julie), Jo-Anne Labelle (husband Raymond), Linda Madore (husband Richard Arsenault), Ubald Madore and Lucie Blier (husband Alain) all of Timmins. Grandfather of 23 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Gerard was born on July 21, 1921 in Ste. Rose, Quebec. He moved to Timmins in 1945 where he worked in various local mines. He marriage his wife Lina on June 26, 1947 at St. Anthony's Cathedral. Gerard and Lina raised a family of 10 children here in the Timmins area. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2002 from St. Anthony's Cathedral. Interment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery.
