Suddenly after a brief illness on Thursday, March 1 st, 2001 at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa. Much loved husband of Margaret. Devoted father of Christopher and his wife Christine Gierer. Loving brother of Betty Prescott, Verna Walker, Art Foran and Marie Foran. Predeceased by his parents Ed and Marjorie Foran. Al will be sadly missed by his extended family Archie Muir, Melody and Bruce Hendry and George, April, Katie, Lucas and Emma Sowchuck. Lovingly remembered by Betty Nichols and many other dear fricnds within the community. MASON, Andrew Stuart
(27 + year employee of Dominion Textiles and World War LI Veteran of France and Holland.) Peacefully in his sleep on March 1st, 2001, in his 89th year. Survived by his loving wife Betty. ESCHENLOR, Ilse Martha Luise
(Retired School Teacher).Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, February 28th, 2001 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late John A. Eschenlor. Dear mother of John W. and wife Virginia, and Ingrid and husband Horst Muensterer. Proud grandmother of Jackie, Kelly, Oliver, and Andrea, and very proud great grandmother of Kendall, Luke, Robbie, Tyler, and Dennis. Mrs. Eschenlor has been a retired school teacher for many years. Throughout her career she had become a very loved and respected teacher and colleague influencing many lives in a positive manner. She will be forever remembered, loved and missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be announced in the spring of 2001. Funeral arrangements entrusted to W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL (905) 668-3410 or contact Mrs. Coleman at (905) 666-1825. Peacefully on Tuesday February 27, 2001 at Hillsdale Manor at the age of 79. Irene, daughter of the late Edward J. Lewis and Isabel McMillan. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Thomas Graham. Loving mom of Donna and her husband Ronald Jones of Brooklin, Marilyn and her husband Ross Munro of Port Perry, and Lois and her husband Ray Baker of Bethany. Loved grandmother of Leanne and her husband Ray Baker, Heather and her husband Harald Atzelsberger, Daniel Munro and Tami Jones. Sister-in-law of Laurrena Bright of Oshawa. Irene will be missed by her precious puppies Molly and PeeWee. MALONE, S. J. Father Patrick G.
At the AIax-Pickering Hospital, Pickering, Ontario, on Monday, February 26, 2001 in his 83rd year and in the 66th year of his religious life. Fr. Malone was born in 1918 in Belfast, Ireland, and entered the Society in 1936 in the Province of Upper Canada. Fr. Pat was the son of the late Hugh and Eliza Malone. Upon completion of the Novitiate at Guelph, he studied Philisophy in Toronto. After his philisophical studies, he went on to do his Regency at Loyola in Montreal. Fr. Pat studied Theology at Regis College in Toronto from 1946 to 1950 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1949. He was assigned variously to St. Mary s College in Halifax, to Loyola in Montreal as Rector and President to these institutions and to Rome to work in the area of Public Relations for the Gregorian Biblical Institute. From 1980 to 1991 he was assigned to be the Superior of the Jesuit Residence in Halifax. In September of 1991 he was assigned to St. Paul s College as the Superior of the College Community in Winnipeg. He worked in Winnipeg until 1997 after which he was assigned to Pickering to continue his work in the Spiritual Exercises Apostolate at Manresa Retreat House. Fr. Pat was a man dedicated to serving God s people and will be missed by many students, teachers and retreatants who got to know him over the years of his very active apostolic life. Fr. Pat leaves to mourn his passing, his Jesuit Brothers, his sister Rita Gamsby of London, Ontario, his nieces, Patricia Scott and Joan Gamble of London and Unionville, Ontario respectively, and his sister-in-law of Mississauga, Ontario. Visitation will be held at the Rosor-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne St. (south of Wellesley) on Wednesday, February 28, 2001 from 2-4 p.m. and at St. Ignatius Chapel, Manresa Retreat House, 2325 Liverpool Rd. North, Pickering Ontario from 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Manresa Retreat House, Pickering, Ontario on Thursday, March 1, 2001 at 11 a.m. Burial at Jesuit Cemetery Guelph, Ontario in the spring.
