Much loved father of Joseph and his wife Bonnye of Bowmanville and John and his wife Sandy of Brooklin. Grandfather of Tim, Jenna, Breanna, Joey, Lauren, Krista, Nicholas and Kaytlin. Brother of Antoinette DiMambro of Windsor, Vincenza Grossi of Toronto, Antonio Fusco of Windsor and Carmanella and Filamina both of France. Resting at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN, 79 Baldwin Street Brooklin (655-3662) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Then to Holy Family Catholic Church, 91 Ribblesdale Drive, Whitby for Mass of Christian Burial Thursday Morning (Feb.1) at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Peacefully in her sleep on January 29, 2001 at Fairview Lodge at the age of 76. Pre-deceased by husband Jim Hamm. GIBSON, Ann
(Longtime member of the Oshawa Golf Club). Formerly of Ballycliffe Lodge Nursing Home, died at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa, on Wednesday, January 17, 2001 Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, April 25, 1912. Daughter of the late Alexander and Ann (nee Wright) Ferguson. Beloved wife of the late Fredriuk Gibson (d.1 973), Lew McConkey (d.1969) and Rusty Robinson (d.1960). Predeceased by her siblings, Donald, Alexander Jr., Gordon and Marion. Ann graduated as a registered nurse from City Hospital in Saskatoon. She worked at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where she met Rusty Robinson. Following Rusty's death, Ann became a private nurse to Col. R. S. (Sam) McLaughlin. The job entailed travel to exciting locales which Ann enjoyed immensely. Ann met and married Lew McConkey, who worked with the Oshawa Board of Trade. Following Lew s death, Ann married Fred Gibson. Ann shared with Fred an abiding passion for golf. They were early members of the Oshawa Golf and Country Club. They wintered in Florida where they also golfed avidly. After Fred s death, Ann enjoyed a busy lifestyle, driving regularly from Oshawa to Fort Myers, Fla., with stopovers in Ann Arbor, Mich. and Atlanta, Georgia to visit family. Ann enjoyed people and had a tremendous sense of fun. She leaves behind a stepdaughter, Judy Abernethy; her Gr-Ann kids, Merrilee, David, John, Tom and Rick; and her nieces and nephews of whom David Cook, of Saskatoon, was especially supportive during Ann s declining years. There will be a graveside service at Oshawa Union Cemetery, April 25, 2001. Peacefully, on Sunday, January 28, 2001 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Bowmanville, at age 91. Mabel (nee Price ), beloved wife of the late Harold Beatty. Loved mother of Carol and her husband Doug Rutter of Lindsay, Floyd and his wife Vernona of Nestleton, and Jim and his wife Carolyn of Port Perry. Loving grandmother of Kelly Sweetman, Sandra Gill, Pamela Durham, David, Jennifer and Gregory Beatty, and great-grandmother of Lyndsay, Kaily, and Lesley Sweetman, Caitlynn and Erin Gill, Jacob Durham, and Braydon Beatty. Of Oshawa. Suddenly on Sunday, January 28th, 2001 as the result of a heart attack. Beloved wife of Allan for 55 years. Dearest mother of Shirley Flintoff (Brent) of Courtice, Jim (Debbie) and Mark (Janice) of Pontypool. Loved by her grandchildren Steve (Deanna), Larisa (Todd), Theresa (Shawn), Matthew, Chuck, Wendy, Mike and Sarah and great grandchildren Tasha, Jake and Deacon. TURNER, Lloyd Loyola
At Lakeridge Health Corporation, Oshawa on Sunday, January 28, 2001 in the presence of his family, after a four year courageous battle with cancer. Lloyd was born at St. Brendan's, Newfoundland, the son of John Turner and Bridget Whalen and is survived by his wife and partner for 51 years, Anne Catherine (MacNeil). He is survived by his children Nancy Hashimoto of Surrey, B.C., Don, Lex and Kevin of Toronto, Joe of Vaughan, Glenn and Barry of Oshawa, Son-in-law Greg, daughters-in-law Marcia, Karen and Michele; also survived by sister Mary Ann Hogan of St. Brendan's, Nfld., and brother Tom of Scarborough; six grandchildren Michael and Elliott Hashimoto, Lauren, Blake, Megan and Michael Turner; also survived by sisters-in-law Rose, Mary and Alice Turner of Scarborough. He was predeceased by brothers Joe, Greg, Pat, Herb and Jack and a sister, Nell Bridgeman. Lloyd was a boilermaker by trade but in an interim 15 year period, he and his wife Anne carried on business as A & L Machinery Movers Limited in Toronto and Scarborough, later returning to Boilermakers Local 128. He was a devoted member of St. Philip the Apostle Parish, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Knights of Columbus and a lifelong Liberal. At Lloyd's request, there will be no funeral. A Memorial Mass in his memory will be celebrated at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 1314 Oxford St. (at Philip Murray), Oshawa on February 10, 2001 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
