(March 13, 1920 - May 5, 2001) (Fisherman, Fiddler and WWII Veteran extrodinare), passed away May 5, 2001 at Lakeridge Health - Oshawa, in his 82nd year, in the loving company of his daughters Marlane March, Lorraine Aitchison, Lee Smallwood, Deborah Foley and Judy Sutherland. Beloved husband of Loretta (nee Cannon) for 54 years. Archie was a devoted father, friend to all, quietly humorous and witty, and a warm, compassionate gentlemen to everyone he knew. Will be sadly missed by his family, especially his sons-in-law David March, James Aitchison, Steve Smallwood and Mark Foley, and Terry Stinchcombe, as well as his many grandchildren and life-long friends. Peacefully on Saturday, May 5th, 2001 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa at the age of 79 years. Mary was predeceased by John, her loving husband of 48 years, in 1998. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Jacquie (and Barry Lingard) and Cathy (and Bill Allen), her granddaughters Katie and Melissa Lingard, brother James Sangster and many other relatives and friends. A brief visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8th at the MEMORIAL CHAPEL in Brooklin with a service at 12 noon. Cremation to follow.
