passed away suddenly at the Rouge Valley Health System’s Ajax-Pickering Site, on Friday June 8, 2001, in his 88th year. Jim will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Nora (Patten), his children Alice (Gary Edgar), Jim (Ann), Marg (Howard Moore), Dave (Beth Ross), Connie (Terry Williams), Steve (Anne) and Tom (Paula), his grandchildren Lisa (Clark Menzies) and Phil (Kim) Edgar, Chris (Fiona) and Cheryl Moore, Susan and ‘Mike Read, Emily and Leanne Read, Pamela and Cameron Read, and his great grandchildren Jordan and Spencer Menzies. Jim was a brother to Grace Steward, Kay Darlington, and Violet Linton, and the late Gertrude James and Victor Read. As a WW2 veteran, he will also be missed by members of the Legion and the Canadian Corps. Friends and neighbours are invited to join with family to commemorate his life in a Memorial Service at the Canadian Corps, 142 Athol St. Oshawa, on Wednesday June 20, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. A former resident of Port Perry, Oshawa, and Sunnycrest Nursing Home in Whitby, and a retired employee of DuPlate Canada, Jim has donated his body to the University of Toronto Anatomy Department so that others may gain.
