Dear sister of Dorothy Lawless. Predeceased by her sisters Teresa Roach, Corinne Lawless, and Louise Doyle and by her brothers Clarence, Joseph, Frank, Thomas, and Donald Flannigan. Fondly remembered by her twelve grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren. passed away quietly in her 87th year on Saturday, August 4, 2001. Known to most as ''Granny'', the owner of Moores Grocery on Manse Rd. in West Hill for over 40 years. Dear wife of the late Vic Moores and the late Lionel Layzell. Loving mother to Tom Moores and his wife Darla. Mother-in-law to Juanita Moores and Jim Prince. Predeceased by Jim Moores and Betty Prince. Step-mother to Don and Helen and the late Joy. Also survived by sisters Rose, Margaret and Beatrice. Predeceased by Clara and Ernie. Loved grandmother and great-grandmother. HLADY, Maurice
With deep sadness, Maurice's family announce his death on Friday, August 3, 2001 at the Sunnybrook Veteran's Residence in his 79th year, after a lengthy illness. Born Rama, Saskatchewan. Enlisted W.W. II as soon as he was eligible, at the age of 18, in the R.C.A.F. He remained in that service after the war and duty took him across North America, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. It included service with the Canadian Joint Staff in London, England, the U.N. Emergency Force in the Belgian Congo, the Gaza Strip and Yemen. He retired with the rank of Wing Commander/Lieutenant Colonel after 28 years. He joined McKinsey and Co. Consultants, briefly, before he established the Canadian Executive Search Group which he continued with until forced to stop by heart disease. After surgery he was as active as possible and a member of Confederation Lodge A.F. and A.M. No. 720 and the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 322. With Elaine, he supported his Church, travelled, followed the Blue Jays, enjoyed concerts and theatre, and was an avid golfer. Maurice, dearly loved husband of Elaine (nee Watson). Father of Brian and his partner Janet, of Stouffville, and Keith and his wife Katalin, of Toronto. Grampa to Mallory, Mitchell, and Zoe. Brother of Terry of Calgary, and Gerald of Barrie. Predeceased by Harry, Paul, Stella, Olea, Jeanette, Mary and Ann. Survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. A Service to celebrate the life of Maurice, will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 35 Church Street North, Pickering Village (Ajax) on Thursday, August 9, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Interment Duffins Meadows Cemetery. Predeceased by her loving husband William E. Brown (12/06/1909 - 22/10/1996), sister Madeline Arnott (1990), brothers Gordon (1991) and James Kenneth (2001). Survived by sister Kathleen R.
