After a 24 year battle with a terminal illness, peacefully at home in her bed surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, September 30, 2001. Josie is survived by her beloved husband Darrell, her loving daughter Tanya, her loving son Alex and his wife Esther. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall, 1302 Finch Ave. E. (at Liverpool Rd.), Pickering. passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 30, 2001, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late William Leathem. Loving mother of William and his wife Ann, Ian and his wife Barbara of Australia, Margaret and her husband Tom Topping. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survived by sister Meta and husband Tom, and David her brother. Fondly remembered by her faithful and lifelong friends in Ireland. Donna (nee Stapley), dearly loved wife and best friend of Bryce Philp of Port Perry. Loved sister of Frank Stapley and his wife Caroline of Stirling. Predeceased by her parents Marjorie and Bruce Stapley. Donna will also be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and cousins. CAVERLY, Freda Almira
Peacefully in her sleep, Tuesday, September 25, 2001, in her own room at Sunnycrest Retirement Villa, Whitby, Ontario, at the age of 92. She was born in Napanee, Ontario on June 26, 1909, daughter of Deaconess Salome Caverly (nee Foote) and Deacon Harvey S. Caverly of The Pilgrim Holiness Movement. The family was raised in Oshawa. Almira shared a home with her late sister, Ann and her late brother-in-law, Bethel Clark, near Hampton, Ontario. She was also predeceased by her brother Verner Caverly, her sister Mildred Ennis and a sister, Ruby, in childhood. She is survived by her sister-in-law Ethel Caverly. Next-of-kin are her six nieces and nephews: Margery McCoy, Donald Ennis, Jean Barlow, Glenn Caverly, Bob Caverly and Norma Crofts and their children. Freda Almira Caverly worked 43 years as a secretary for General Motors, retiring in 1970. She enjoyed a full retirement life with Ann and Bethel, travelling as the Clark-Caverly Trio musical group. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME Ltd., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905 433-5558) on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. A service will be held in our chapel on Friday, September 28, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Oshawa Union Cemetery.
