Agnes Jessie Isobell Marshall, in her 84th year, was the wife of the late Alfred Francis of Derryville. Beloved mother of Joan and her husband Ed Pallister of Gamebridge and the late Carol Snelgrove (1999). Dearly remembered by grandchildren Darren, Deborah, Tamara, Ed and Susan, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, also one sister Rose Purvis of Lindsay and one brother Albert and his wife Alma Marshall of Oshawa. Predeceased by 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Dear great grandmother of Maria and Nataslia Byrdine and Francesca Spited. Rita came from a family of 12 children and is survived by her brother Peter Debrincat in Malta and 3 sisters Lela Mizzi of Oshawa, Georgina Mercier of Malta and Annie Aquilina of Whitby. Predeceased by her parents George and Dolores Debrincat, brothers Paul, Joseph, John and Dominic Debrincat, and sisters Carmela Cauchi, Nina Spiteri and Mary Debrincat. passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, September 5, 2001. Louis Vernon Schnalzer, son of Hilda Schnalzer andthe late Louis Schnalzer Sr. He was born in Toronto in April, 1940. Raised in Tillsonburg, a well known athlete in hockey and football. Beloved husband of his childhood sweetheart, Dianne Scrimgeour. Doting father of Lisa andhe husband Randy Missen (Cobourg) and Lou Jr. and his wife Melinda (Newmarket). Devoted and adoring grandfather of Lana and Grace Missen, and Claire and Maia Schnalzer. Lou, was a well respected Technical Teacher with theScarborough Board of Education and the Toronto District School Board. He taught at Birchmount Collegiate, Agincourt Collegiate, Yorkdale and finally at David and Mary Thomson where he was the Technical Director until he retired in June of 2001. Lou will be greatly missed by family, dear friends, fellow teachers and the students that he loved so dearly. SPEIRS, Dr. John Murray Died peacefully, in his 92nd year, early on Monday, September 3, 2001. One of Canada s great naturalists, Dr. Speirs accomplishments and generosity were recognized last year by the Order of Canada. He will be a gentle and inspiring memory for his family, many friends and fellow birders. Mary Louise Wilson (Cornish) of Vernon, British Columbia, has joyfully arrived Home! We celebrate and remember Mary s love of life. The brightest moments of her life s journey involved her family, church, friends, volunteer work, and her association with the PEO sisterhood. Mary died peacefully at the Vernon Hospice House on Monday, September 3, 2001. The family would like to thank all of the nursing and support staff from the Hospice who cared for her. She is survived by her loving husband George who has been her life long partner and friend for thirty-nine years. Her three children Katherine Mary (Pat) of Barrhead, Alberta, Steven George of Victoria, British Columbia, and Alexander Christo pher (Jacquie) of Toronto, Ontario. Also her brother James Cornish (Marie) of Oshawa, Ontario, six grandchildren: Chance, Noun, Meghan, Brittany, Brian and Oliver, nieces and nephews Ann (Dan), Lynn (Mike), Bob (Heather), and John. Mary will be missed and remembered dearly by many other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Ewart and Louise Cornish of Oshawa, Ontario. Services were held at Trinity United Church on Thursday, September 6, at 2:00 p.m. officiated by the Reverend Bob Thompson.
