Beloved wife of the late George Willoughby, survived by her daughter Rose and her husband Don Ellis (Oshawa), son George and his wife Leowna Willoughby (Peterborough), son Harold Willoughby (Oshawa), daughter Marie and her husband Joe Taschuk (Saskatoon, SK) and son Job Willoughby (Oshawa). Born in Fulham, London, England, on November 1, 1902, to Moses Edward and Rose Annie Rebecca Maria Coombes (formerly Everett). Gland arrived in Canada under the auspices of Dr. Bernardo’s Homes on the S.S. Corinthian, landing in Quebec on September 22, l9l4. He was a G.M. assembly worker and U.A.W. member for 44 years and a longstanding and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Predeceased by his wife Eva (formerly Swallow). Survived by his brother-in-law and sister-inlaw, Ernie and May Stacey and many nieces and nephews. Loving grandmother of Jessie-Ann and Elizabeth Baines. Godmother to Carolyn (Johnson) Crowson. Born in Lancaster, Ontario on November 30, 1911, attended Williamstown High School. After graduating from Hamilton General Hospital in 1933, she married Bill Stanley and they moved to Oshawa in 1937. Gladys was actively involved with St. George's Anglican Church, Oshawa Hospital Auxiliary, and Robert McLaughlin Art Gallery. She loved many activities including skating, skiing, curling and painting. Gladie will be fondly remembered by her lifelong close friend Dr. Ted Johnson and his family.
