Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday November 3rd, 2001. Elsie Shearer, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late James Shearer. Dear daughter of the late Rev. Thomas and Annie Wallace. Loving sister of Ruby Beare of Port Perry, and Mable and her husband Al Rowland of Oshawa. Predeceased by sisters Hilda Alexander of Sutton, andGrace Couch of Newcastle, and brothers George Wallace of Belleville, Clayton Wallace, and Douglas Wallace of Port Perry. Elsie will be fondly remembered by her stepchildren, nieces and nephews and friends at Cedarcroft Place. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa, on Saturday November 10th at 1:00 p.m. Remembrances to the C.N.I.B. After a courageous battle, entered into rest at the Lakeridge Health Corporation, Oshawa, on Saturday, November 3, 2001 at the age of 73. Beloved wife of the late Sam Copeland Stinson. A loving and devoted mom to her 13 children. Treasured grandmother to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will always be forever in our hearts and forever young. At the Northumberland Health Care Centre, Cobourg on Friday, November 2, 2001. Verna Edith Geldart (nee Hyslop) was the beloved wife of Evan Garnet Geldart. Dear mother of Wendy Tripp of Oshawa, Ian (Tamara) Geldart of Oshawa and Mark (Debbie) Geldart of Bowmanville. Grandmother of Darcey Lew, Chad Geldart, Kyle and Tyler Geldart. Sister of Alan Hyslop and his wife Fayeof Moncton, New Brunswick, Joan Young of New Brunswick, Phyllis Belfry and her husband Larry of Oshawa, Gerald Hyslop and his wife Mary of Bowmanville and Verla George and her husband Barry of New Brunswick. Daughter of Minnie and Vernon Hyslop of New Brunswick. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A private family service was held at the MACCOUBREY FUNERAL HOME, 30 King St. E., Cobourg. Interment MOUNT LAWN Cemetery, Oshawa, Ontario. If desired, memorial donations in memory of Verna to Lakeridge Hospital Cancer Centre, Oshawa would be appreciated.
