Peacefully on Saturday December 22, 2001 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 75. Jean, beloved wife of Max Johnston. Loving mother of David and his wife Mary of Florida, Sherry Ripley, and Scott and his wife Bev. Loving grandmother of Brad, Todd, Brandy, Drew and Garrett, and great grandmother of Damien. Dear sister of Dorothy and her husband Jim Bourke and family. A private family funeral service was held at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa. Memorial donations made to the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
McGRADY, Daniel Patrick
Suddenly on Saturday December 22nd, 2001. Daniel in his 37th year. Loving son of Carole and the late Dennis McGrady. Grandson of Della Rehel. Beloved brother of Bonnie, Tracy and Shelley. Father of David and Eric. Will be sadly missed by friend and confidante Tina, and his nieces Sarah, Lindsey and Sabrina. Funeral was held in the Chapel of the Armstrong Funeral Home on Monday December 24th, 2001. Cremation.
PEDDLE, Laura Anne
At rest after a year-long battle with cancer, Laura slipped away quietly at home on December 22 at the age of 14. She is the beloved daughter of Rodney and Dalia Peddle, granddaughter of Max and Shirley Peddle and the late Feliksas and Anna Pajarskas, goddaughter of Laima Stonclus and Thomas Abromaitis. Laura will be missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins and her kitty, Juliet. Laura also leaves behind a wonderful group of friends, teachers and coaches whose influences helped her to make her mark on this world during her short life. Many dedicated healthcare professionals were involved with Laura over the past year. We are grateful for the compassionate management of her treatments at the Hospital for Sick Children by Dr. Ron Grant and Glynnis Wrathall; the kindness of the staff on 8A, 8B and 8D and the pediatric radiation oncologists, nurses and Unit 12 technicians at Princess Margaret Hospital. Many thanks to our family physician, Dr. Scott Burwell, and to Richard Granville and the staff at theWhitby Clinic Pharmacy, who helped us to take care of Laura at home, especially in the past month. As well, we thank the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Palliative Care Service and Durham Access to Care, especially our case manager, Marilyn Lambert, for her timely and sensitive interventions, and the nurses at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, especially Jane Pizzolato for her practical and emotional support. Finally, we are grateful to our friends, neighbours and colleagues for your many kind words and thoughtful gestures that have sustained us in the past year. Private family service and cremation took place on Friday, December 28. A memorial to celebrate Laura's life willbe announced in the new year. If desired, donations to the Hospital for Sick Children Pediatric Oncology Chair would be appreciated by the family.
WILLIAMS, Deborah Lynn
Peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2001. After three years Deborah has risen above the evils of cancer. She will be deeply missed by her husband John and son Richard. She will always be in the hearts of her sisters and brothers, Liz, Cathy, David and Roger as well as her parents Louise and Percy. Her spirit will live on. There will be a Memorial Service in the chapel at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Kingston Road, Ajax (Pickering Village) on Saturday December 29, 2001 at 12 o'clock. If one desires, in lieu of flowers, balloons would be appreciated.

passed away on Friday, December 21, 2001. Tony, beloved husband of Francis. Loving father of Al, Liz, Linda and Emily. Grandpa to 5 grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Sadly missed by his brothers George of Oshawa, John and Albert of Holland, also remembered by Mina, and sisters Helen VandeLaar, Trudy VanHoof, Mary VanDenBoom, and Joan Holtforster. Devoted grandfather to 13 grandchildren. Also cherished great-grandfather to 22 great-grandchildren. MALLORY, Arthur Raymond (Ray)
passed away December 21st, 2001 at Hillsdale Manor, Oshawa, in his 89th year. Beloved husband for 59 years of Dorothy R. Mallory. Dear father of Patricia D. Donald and husband Robert of Pickering and the late Helen Margaret. Proud grandfather of Nicole North and husband Philip, Angela Donald and fiance Jeff Gruen, and Brett Donald. Survived by his sister Helen Bateman of Florida and predeceased by brother Maurice of Frankford. An OAC/University of Guelph graduate, Ray was a respected Apiarist who Successfully operated Oak Hills Apiaries in Stirling, Ontario for almost 40 years. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hillsdale Manor for their wonderful care and understanding. Loving mother of Denise and Tusse Galea of Oshawa, Jan Peterson of Cambridge, Ellen Little of Oshawa, Mavis and Rick Luppe of Trenton, and Beth and Ian Baxter of Brighton. Sadly missed by grandchildren Tracey, Quinn, David, Stephanie, Michael, Corey, and her great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Lavonne and the late Daniel, Margaret, Edna, Joe and Maude. STAPLETON, Muriel Irene
At age 85, passed away peacefully December 21, 2001, after a courageous battle against Cancer. Beloved wife of the late Harold Stapleton, and dear mother of the late John D. Stapleton. Muriel will be lovingly remembered by her son Robert, and wife Phrancis, her grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Al Harris, Gregory and his wife Jane, and Bradley. She will be sadly missed by her three great-grandchildren, Adam and Michelle Stapleton, and Benjamin Harris. She also leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law Jack and Helen Stapleton. She will be forever loved by her faithful companion ''Buddy''. Special appreciation is extended to Lily and Eric Irvine for all their love and support. Thank you to Dr. V.
