Born in Oshawa, Ontario, daughter of the late Eva (1971) and John Crawford (1954). Predeceased by brother Rowan (1982) and his wife Barbara (1992); brother John (1987); sister Kay (1997) and her husband Eric Norris (1993) and their only child, daughter Brenda Hanewich (1997); brother Gordon (1991)) and his wife Hilda (1976).
Former employee of General Motors of Canada, Oshawa; Research Enterprises Ltd., Leaside; International Nickel Co. of Ontario (INCO); Lome Airways and Kenting Aviation; Registar of the School of Nursing, Durham College. Former member of United Church Women s group, St. Andrew s United Church and Kingsview United Church; Oshawa Curling Club and various bridge groups; 25+ year member of the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire (IODE); Golden Jubilee Chapter; volunteer at the Oshawa General Hospital.
The Kings wish to express sincere appreciation to the staff on '2 South at Hillsdale Manor for their unremitting care of Eva. A grateful thank you to the nursing staff of 9 Main at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their personal concern and care for Eva during her final days. A heartfelt thank you to both groups for their friendship and support extended to the family, especially Catherine.

Cherished ''Grampa'' of Brent, Tami, Jamey, Alisha, Brandi, Jennifer and Jessica. Beloved brother of Mable and her husband George Cawker and Joyce and her husband Ralph Virtue and their families. Visitation will take place at The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N., Bowmanville 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in our Chapel. Peacefully, after a lengthy illness on Saturday, January 5, 2002, his family with him at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, at age 79. Fred Nobbs of Little Britain, beloved husband of Jessie May (nee Tapscott). Loved father of William ''Billy'' of Smith Falls, Ron and his wife Helen of Woodville, Raymond and his fiancee Shelly of Valencia, and Joanne and her husband John Molenaar of Sunderland. Loving grandfather of Jennifer, Jason, Andrew, Megan, Lukas, Cheryl, Ed, Tiffany, Billy and Katrina. Dear brother of Henry and his wife Orine of Whitby, and Harold (deceased) and his wife Lois of Markham. Of St. Thomas and formerly of Whitby, on Saturday, January 5, 2002, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 80th year. He was the last of his family. Resting at WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am. Interment Elmdale Cemetery. SMYTH, Patrick Joseph
On Saturday January 5th after a lengthy illness in Panama City, Panama. Patrick, the son of Robert Gordon & Margaret Smyth of Oshawa, was predeceased by his wife, Acracia, and is survived by his son Pedro (Peter) of Germany, his wife & 3 granddaughters. Also surviving are his 3 stepchildren Mariaflores, Annabella & Leon all of Panama City. Pat was also predeceased by his sister Sally & is fondly remembered by his brothers & sisters D'Arcy, William, Robert, Grace & Mary. The funeral followed by Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Panama City.
Aged 78, died Friday, January 4th in Fort Pierce, Florida, where he lived part of each year. Jack Woodrow s Canadian home was in Mount Hope, near Hamilton, Ontario.
A former teacher and Dean at Durham College, Jack was born in Windsor, Ontario. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941, one month after he turned 18. After the war he accepted a commission with the RCAF and obtained a degree in engineering and business from the University of Toronto in 1949. It was during this time that he met and married his wife Arlene.
His 27 years of service included a stint at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, where he obtained an MBA from Ohio State University. He retired as a Squadron Leader in 1969.
Upon leaving the service, Jack accepted a position at Durham College. During his 16 years at the College, he was a teacher and an administrator, and retired in 1985 as Dean of the Adult Training Division. Since retirement, he made donations to the College s scholarship fund. Jack was also a consumer advocate and a prolific writer of letters to the editor of the Oshawa Times. He eventually wrote a weekly consumer column for the Oshawa Times for several years.
Jack is survived by his wife of 53 years, Arlene Woodrow, also of Mount Hope and Fort Pierce; son, Bruce Woodrow, and daughter, Judie Surridge, both of Toronto; four grandsons, Erich Fox, Matthew Fox, Scott Surridge and Alex Surridge; and 1 great-grandson, Xavier Fox.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Durham College Scholarship Fund or the Charity of your choice.

Loving Nanny to Kevin Morton (Sherry), Jake Rousseau, Samantha Billings and Amanda Neal. Proud Great-grandmother of Kalvin, Kurtis, and predeceased by our Little Angel Richard. Sister of the late Hazel Hibbeard, Arvilla Davis and Harold Strong. She will be remembered with love by her many Nieces, Nephews and Friends. After a valiant battle with cancer, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2002 at home surrounded by his family. John has gone home to be with the Lord. Will be sadly missed by beloved wife Maggie.
