KOTYNSKI, EDWARD -
Age 88, died peacefully in South Okanagan General Hospital, Oliver, British Columbia, on February 27th 2002. A 43-year resident of Oshawa, he was active in the Oshawa Polish Veterans Association. He was a graduate of the Polish Naval Academy and defended freedom during the Second World War serving in the British Navy after confinement in a Siberian concentration camp. He survived his wife, Josephine, by 28 years and is survived by his daughter Mary Theberge, her husband John, and 2 granddaughters. In 1998 he moved to Kitchener, and then followed his family to live among the beautiful mountains of Oliver one year ago.

Loving father of Melody and her husband Bruce Hendry, Margaret and the late Allan Foran and April and her husband George Sowchuck. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Christopher Foran and his wife Christine Gierer, and Katie, Lucas and Emma Sowchuck. Special appreciation to sister-in-law Gwen Muir. Survived by brother Alex (Sandy) and his wife Mildred; cousins Art and Doreen Palk and many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by sisters Glen Etta and her husband John Empringham, Hazel and her husband Andrew Minto and Sadie and her husband Eric Courtice, and brothers Harold and his wife Frances, Bruce, and Robert. (January 14, 2001 - February 26, 2002, 13 months of age). On February 26, 2002, at the Hospital for Sick Children, after a four month battle with Neuroblastoma, the Angels took Shaylah home. Shaylah's bright, playful spirit will be cherished forever by her parents, Marilyn MacDonald and Daniel Ball, her Nana and Papa Gloria and James MacDonald, Grandma Joan Ball, Grandpa Ronald Ball, great Grandmother Marie Elliott, her aunts and uncles, Joyce and Bill, Jacalyn, Steven and Jennifer.
