GAMEY, Mabel (Nee Seymour)
In loving memory of Mabel Gamey (nee Seymour) 102 years of age who passed away Tuesday morning, February 27th, 2001 at Pioneer Manor, Sudbury. Mabel Seymour was born April 23rd 1898 in Sudbury. She marriage Joseph Gamey in Sudbury who predeceased her in 1970. Mrs. Gamey was an active member of Christ the King Church and had been a member of the Catholic Women’s League, Christ the King Seniors Club and Club III. She was a devoted mother and special grandmother who will be sadly missed and never forgotten. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Gamey (predeceased 1970). Loving mother of Jim (wife Margaret) of Sudbury, Zita Moore of New Liskeard, the late Roswell and Tom both predeceased. Special grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Jane (Thompson) Seymour and by her sister Anna “Babe” Seymour. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 30 Beech St. Sudbury, Friday, March 2nd, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation at Parklawn Crematorium, Sudbury. LANDRY, Darquise Albina Marie (Nee Robillard)
In loving memory of Darquise Albina Marie Landry (nee Robillard) 55 years who passed away Tuesday evening, February 27, 2001 at SRH - Laurentian Site. She was born Holtyre, Ontario and marriage Fern in New Liskeard in 1964. She was loving wife, mother and caregiver to all little ones. Darquise enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved dining out at East Side Marios, shopping at Walmart and reading. She will be sadly missed and remembered by her loving husband Fern Landry of Sudbury. Loving mother of Lynn at home, Christine (husband Wayne) Spicer of Wahnapitae and Brigitte (husband Ivan Villeneuve) also of Wahnapitae. Dear grandmother of Chelsea and Amber and Nana of Katryna. Sadly missed by her mother, Madelaine Robillard and her late father Lucien Robillard (predeceased) of Sudbury. Cherished sister of Gaitant (wife Nöella) Robillard of Val Caron and Céline (husband Crosby Speck) of Sudbury. Also survived by many nieces & nephews, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law and special friend Linda Whitmore. A memorial service will be held in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Saturday, March 3rd, 2001 at 11 a.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Donations to the C.N.I.B. or the Heart and Soul - Cancer Services would be appreciated. (Friends may gather after 10 a.m. Saturday).

MAJA, Olavi Eemil.
In loving memory of Olavi Eemil Maja 77 years of Azilda who passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, February 27th, 2001 at his residence. He was born in Alavus, Finland and marriage Tyyne (Taipalus) in 1959 in Sudbury. Olavi came to the Sudbury area in 1950 from Finland. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Evangelical Church. An accomplished woodworker he was a carpenter at various local contractors for many years retiring in 1988. Proud of his Finnish heritage he was a member of the Finnish War Veteran’s Association and the Finlandia Koti Rest Home Society. He appreciated the outdoors in younger days he enjoyed fishing and hunting and he was an avid gardener. He regularly rode his bicycle from the war years when he served in the Bicycle Corps with the Finnish army. Olavi will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father. Beloved husband of Tyyne (Taipalus) Maja of Azilda. Loving father of Douglas of Kitchener and Lillian (husband Don Vankoughnett) of Waterloo. Dear son of Juho and Tyyne Maja predeceased. Dear brother of Bertta Maki, Martta Mastosalo (husband Elo) and Veino Maja (wife Elli) all of Finland and the late Hellevi, Arvo and Marjatta all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Friday, March 2nd, 2001 at 11:30 a.m. Interment in the Civic Cemetery, Sudbury. Donations to St. Matthew’s Church. RIVARD, Marcel J.
In loving memory of Marcel J. Rivard, 62 years of Sudbury who passed away Sunday morning, February 25th, 2001 at his residence. He was born in Rimouski. Marcel has lived the past 4 years in Sudbury previously residing in Elliot Lake. A heavy equipment mechanic for 32 years he retired from Dennison Mines in 1990. He was a Roman Catholic and he was a member of the Moose Lodge. Marcel enjoyed playing bingo at his apartment building and reading. He was an accomplished musician playing several instruments and sharing his knowledge of music with children. He had a great sense of humour that brought smiles to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Beloved husband of Thérèse (Belanger) Rivard predeceased 1984. Special companion to Freda Ritch of Sudbury. Loving father of Sylvie Rivard (Oscar) and Denis Rivard (wife Dega) both of Montreal. Dear grandfather of Oscar Jr., Emilio, Nadia and Laure. Cherished son of Gerard & Fernande Rivard of Rimouski. Dear brother of Jean-Claude, Andrée and Gaétan all of Quebec City, Jean-Pierre, Gilbert (wife Claire) and Francine all of Rimouski. Dear friend of James, Bev, Murdock, Kathy and Brenda. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Prayers in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Tuesday, February 27th, 2001 at 8:30 p.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. SAVAGE, Annie (Nee Evans)
In loving memory of Annie Savage (nee Evans) 96 years of Sudbury who passed away Tuesday evening, February 27th, 2001 at Extendicare-York. She was born in London, England. Annie emigrated from England to Toronto then moved to Detroit. She retired to Florida and has lived in Sudbury since 1978. She had a great love for books and travel. Annie will be remembered for her gentle manner and her sweet smile she always had to share. Beloved wife of Eric Marshal (predeceased 1973) and Ernest Savage (predeceased 1986). Special mother to Jim Savage (wife Pat) of Lively and Don Savage (wife Cathy) of Alban. Cherished grandmother of 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents William and Helen Evans and brothers Jack and William. At Annie’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date with Interment of ashes in the family plot at Parklawn. Donations to charity of choice would be appreciated. CLARKE, Thomas “Tom” Earl
In loving memory of Thomas “Tom” Earl Clarke, 86 years, who passed away Wednesday evening, March 28th, 2001 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Born on Manitoulin Island, he marriage Helen in 1947, in Gore Bay. He was a World War II Veteran serving with the Air Force 1942 - 1945. He enjoyed hunting and was a great hockey and baseball fan. He will be sadly missed but always remembered with love, especially for his wonderful sense of humour. Beloved husband of Helen (Van Every) Clarke of Copper Cliff. Loving father of David (wife Debbie) of Lively, John (wife Mary Lou) of Wanup, Tom (friend Trudy) of Beamville and Douglas of Sudbury. Dear grandfather of Joanne, Michael, Shannon, Brian, Tom, John, Shaun, Jennifer and 4 great grandchildren. Dear son of William and Mary Clarke both predeceased. Dear brother of Elva McColeman and Ivan (wife Jean) both of Sudbury and the late Lina and Bill both predeceased. Dear brother-in-law of Gladys of Little Current. ELLIS, Agnes M. (nee Foley)
In loving memory of Agnes M. (nee Foley) Ellis, 85 years. The family announces with sorrow her death Thursday, March 29th, 2001 at Finlandia Koti. Agnes marriage Bill in Sudbury, in 1940 and was a lifetime resident of Minnow Lake. She took great pleasure in following the political life of her husband in municipal government. She enjoyed her years of employment at Alexander Centre Industries Ltd. Her greatest enjoyment was her Thursday evening and Tuesday afternoon bridge clubs, Agnes always looked forward to spring, to plant her flowers and watch her “Blue Jays”. She was a loving mother and grandmother, always having time for her sons and grandchildren. Agnes was a devoted and faithful parishioner of Holy Redeemer Church and a 50 year member of the C.W.L. She also enjoyed her Friday morning volunteer work at the church. Beloved wife of William “Bill” A. Ellis (predeceased October 1st, 1991). Loving mother of James W. Ellis (wife Jackie) of Chelmsford, and Kenneth A. Ellis of Garson. Grandma will be sadly missed and not forgotten by her three grandchildren; Michael of Tokyo, David (fiancee Leighla Handsor) of Orillia and Sarah of Garson. She was born in Madoc to Vincent and Emma (Guay) Foley both predeceased. Dear sister of Delphine Bedore of Lewiston, N.Y. and the late Wilfred, Fred, Vincent and Tobias all predeceased. Dear half-sister of Dorenna Bedore of Lewston, N.Y., Joseph Bedore of Brighton, Michael Bedore of Stouffville and Roseline predeceased. Dear step-daughter of George Bedore predeceased. LEVESQUE, Real Louis
In loving memory of Real Louis Levesque, 78 years, formerly of Minnow Lake, who passed away Wednesday evening, March 28th, 2001 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Real joined his wife in Heaven on her birthdate. He was born in North Bay and marriage Melvina (Goudreault) in 1946 in North Bay. Real came to Sudbury in 1947 from North Bay. He was a crane operator at the Copper Cliff Smelter having 37 yrs at INCO retiring in 1981, presently he was a member of the INCO Quarter Century Club. A proud Canadian he served overseas during WWII with the Canadian Army and he was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He enjoyed fishing in healthier days. Real was well liked and respected by his friends and will be remembered as a loving and devoted father and grandfather. Beloved husband of the late Melvina Levesque (Goudreault) predeceased 1991. Loving father of Vivian Beaupre (husband Aldéo) of Timmins, Claudette Wojtowich (husband Leonard) of Sudbury, Raymond Levesque (wife Monique) of Val Caron, Maurice Levesque (wife Nicole) of North Bay and Diane Desforges (husband Francois) of Coniston. Loving grandfather of Remi, Jerome, Brigitte, Candice, Eddy, Eric, Nathalie, Jocelyne, Michel, Louise, Jeanette, Annette, Christine and Carolyn. Dear great grandfather of Justin, Patrick, Darren, Matthew and Joshua. Dear son of the late Damas and Ida Levesque both predeceased. Dear brother of Norman (wife Beulah) of Hanmer, Corrine Carson (husband Ron) of Toronto, Alma Sopher (husband Lloyd predeceased) of Brighton, the late Gerry (wife Pearl predeceased), the late Judy Francoeur (husband Fred of Ottawa), the late Ernie (wife Sylvia of North Bay), the late Angie Harney predeceased (husband Bill Eswick of Toronto). Will be missed by many nieces and nephews. McMASTER, Madeliene (Pearson) (nee Higgins)
In loving memory of Madeliene (Pearson) (nee Higgins) McMaster, 80 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Thursday morning, March 29th, 2001 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph’s Health Centre. She was born in Fernie, B.C. A longtime Porcupine resident Madeliene moved to Sudbury from Timmins last year. She had been a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Royal Canadian Legion Timmins Branch. She loved the outdoors especially trout fishing and hunting and she was a keen bingo player. Madeliene will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Beloved wife of Frank Pearson (1947) and Donald McMaster (1995) both predeceased. Loving mother of Lorraine Rugg predeceased 1993, Lorne Pearson of Porcupine, Diane Fournier (husband Frank) of Sudbury and Jerry Pearson (wife Yvonne) of Chelmsford. Cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Dear daughter of Fred and Minnie Higgins predeceased. POIRIER, Armand Leonard “Tarzan”
In loving memory of Armand Leonard “Tarzan” Poirier, 67 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Thursday morning, March 29th, 2001 at his residence. He was born in South Mindoca. Armand came to Sudbury in 1980 from Kitchener. He was a retired forklift operator. A Roman Catholic he belonged to St. Clement’s Church. A proud Canadian he served in the 12th Medical Corps and Algonquin Regiment and he was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #503 Onaping Falls. An outstanding volunteer he helped many worthy causes and organizations receiving an award from the Jarrett Center for his dedication and help to their clients. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had a great sense of humour which he generously shared with all who knew him. From his music to his laughter Armand was loved by everybody. Beloved husband of Sue Poirier-Chevrier of Sudbury. Loving step-father of Darlene Thompson (husband Gary) and Donna Moore (husband Larry) both of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Darren, Darrell and Allan. Special son of Cecile Poirier of Dowling and the late Henri Poirier predeceased.
