(Inspector - Dowty Equipment). Peacefully, on May 25, 2002, at the Ballycliffe Nursing Home, in her 89th year. Loving wife of the late Lawrence. Dear sister, of Malcolm Draine (England). A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church (south east corner of Harwood Ave. and Bayly St., Ajax) on Friday, May 31, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation. Arrangements entrusted to the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax.

BROWN, Bernice Marie -

Peacefully at home on Saturday May 25th, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 59. She was surrounded by her devoted husband Bill, daughters Leona, April, Marci and her fiancee Tim. Daughter of the late Stan and Wilda Richards. Long time member of the Catholic Womens League (St. Gregory s and St. Joseph the Worker). Rainbow Bowling League and St. Vincent s Kitchen. Special thanks to the Lakeridge Health Oncology Department, Palliative Care and Comcare tbr their compassionate support. Sincere thanks to all family and friends for their acts of kindness and prayers. Ppeacefully at Foster brooke Long Term Care Facility, Newcastle, on Saturday, May 25, 2002, in his 74th year. Brother of Sam Cohen of Israel. A long-time resident of Foster brooke, Alex will be sadly missed by staff and fellow residents. A funeral service was held in the chapel of NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S., (just north of 401 at the lights) on Monday, May 27, 2002, at 4:00 p.m., followed by burial at Bond Head Cemetery.

HAGERMAN, Clara G. -

Peacefully on Saturday May 25, 2002 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in her 91st year. Clara, beloved wife of the late Alton C. Hagerman (1982). Loving mother of Norma Dean and her late husband Manford Dean, Ken Hagerman and his wife Una, Ron Hagerman and his wife Irene and the late Nancy Truscott (1962) and her husband George Truscott. Clara will be missed by her brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa, on Tuesday May 28th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday May 29th at 11am. Interment at 3pm at Whitevale Cemetery, Whitevale. At the Fairview Lodge, Whitby, on Friday, May 24, 2002, at the age of 87 years. Agnes (Caldwell) Dawson was the beloved wife of the late James Russell Dawson. Loving mother of Edward (Jeanne) of Fenelon Falls, Fred (Mary) of Markham, Gordon (Sharon) of Uxbridge, Robert (Carolyn) of Whitby, William (Diana) of Frankford, Roy (Carol) of Ajax and Ray (Judy) of Uxbridge. She will be sadly missed by her seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Remembered by her sister Margaret, and predeceased by Hazel and Reta. The family will receive friends at the Mangan Funeral Home, Beaverton (705-426-5777, or 1-800-463-8627) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 12 noon. A devout member of St. Luke s Presbyterian Church, Oshawa. Beloved wife of the late Harry Johnston. Beloved mother of Bruce and his wife Margaret, Keith (deceased) his wife Patricia. Loved daughter of the late John and Mabel (Powley) Bell. Remembered by four grandchildren, Janet, Brian, Gail and Stephen and great-grandchildren, Collin, Kieran and Kimberley. Beloved and only sister of the late six brothers, Hilton, Ivan, Harold, Reginald, John and Frederick. Will be remembered by several nieces and nephews and also two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Verna Bell of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Mrs. Mildred Bell of Orillia.
