MacPHAIL, Vera May (Skeeles) -

With sadness, the family of Vera MacPhail announce her passing. She died peacefully at Versa Care Centre in Uxbridge on Thursday, May 23rd, 2002, two weeks after her 93rd birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Donald and her daughter Ruth. She was the beloved mother of Donna Knox, Murray (Stephanie) and Douglas (Evelyn). Sadly missed by eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Vera will be missed by her many friends from the I.O.D.E., of which she was a member for over fifty years. She was also a willing worker for the Ladies Association of the Presbyterian Church. She loved to sing and play cards. Special thanks to Versa Care staff for their kindness during the past four years. A celebration of Vera's life will be held from the Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge 23 MainStreet South on Sunday, May 26, 2002 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation two hours prior. Memorial donations may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation or Charity of your choice.

Sadly missed by 9 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and Nellie's only remaining sister Lillian Cameron (formerly of Parksville, B.C.) nieces and nephews in Ontario, a niece overseas, GwenClark, Essex England and many life long friends in Ontario and British Columbia. Nellie was predeceased by brothers Samuel, George and Melvin Wotten and sisters Olive Parfitt and Alice McLean. Nellie requested no service, cremation.
