C.D. & Bar: (F/LT R.C.A.F.) Retired (W.W.11 Veteran Squadron 5 Coastal Command) Peacefully passed away on May 12, 2002 at the Centenary Hospital in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Edith (nee Hale). Loving father to Richard and his wife Anne, Ralph and his partner Jeanette and Louise (Lea) and her husband Paul De Laat. Cherished Papa to Sarah, Laura, Bill, Dylan and Luke. Richard is survived by his brother Russell and his sister Edna Kimpton. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2002. Funeral Service will be held at St. Martin's Anglican Church (1203 St. Martin's Dr., Pickering, ON) at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2002. Cremation. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

BERKERS, William (Bill) -

Peacefully, at the Port Perry Hospital on Sunday, May 12th, 2002. Bill Berkers, loving husband of Teresa. Dear father of David and his wife Deninne, Robert and his wife Mary and his step-son Tim. Loving grandpa of Tyler, Lucas, Victoria and Gillian. Bill is survived by many brothers and sisters in both Canada and Holland. Friends and relatives will be received at the Low & Low Funeral Home, Port Perry on Tuesday, May 14th, 2002 for visitation from 12:00 noon followed by a complete funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Charity of your choice.

COATES, Muriel Louise, R.N.

Following a brief illness, Muriel (Gifford) Coates died peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2002, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Born November 20, 1925, at Oshawa, she was the daughter of Lyman and Louise Gifford. A graduate of the Oshawa General Hospital School of Nursing, Muriel served for over thirty years as the administrator of Fairview Lodge Home for the Aged in Whitby. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Coates in June of 1995. Muriel will be sadly missed by her daughters Phyllis Dewell of Orono and Dianne Coates of Ottawa, as well as her grandchildren Kathleen, Ian, Elizabeth and Patrick Dewell. A private Interment will be held at Oshawa Union Cemetery, and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, at 1:00 p.m. at St. George s Anglican Church, Mill St. South, Newcastle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family, and may be made through NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 1-877-987-3964.

OUELLETTE, Homer -

On Sunday, May 12, 2002 at his home in Port Perry, at age 91. Homer Ouellette formerly of Millbrook; has now joined his beloved wife of 63 years Mary (nee Wood) in eternal rest. Loving father of Lenore (deceased) and her husband Jack Draper of Millbrook, Jane and her husband Roger Todd of Port Perry, and Paul Ouellette and Meryl of Cambridge. Loved grandfather to six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A Service to celebrate Homer's life will be held in St. Andrew's United Church in Millbrook on Saturday, May 18 at 10:30 a.m. Interment of the Cremated Remains of Homer and Mary Ouellette will take place at the Fraserville Cemetery following the Service. FURTO, Albert Joseph -

passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Saturday, May 11th, 2002 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. In his 64th year. Albert is survived by his two sons Karl and Sean. Albert had worked for A.D.T. Security Systems Company for almost 45 years. McINTYRE, Ted (Edmund Hugh) -

passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2002 supported by family and friends at his home in Whitby, Ontario. Ted is survived by his loving wife and companion, Rose. He was the loving and proud father of Cindy McIntyre and Jim Garner of Richmond Hill, and Andrew McIntyre and Sharon Switzer-McIntyre of Toronto. He will be missed by his three cherished grandchildren BJ, Meg, and Ellen. He was born in Saskatoon in 1932, grew up on the Canadian Prairies, and spent most of his adult life living in Montreal or Whitby. Ted was a metallurgical engineer and studied in Canada and the UK. His career in the steel industry allowed him the opportunity to work with people from around the world. Ted will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (South of Eglinton Avenue East) from 10-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 16th. A service to celebrate Ted's life will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16. In lieu of flowers,Ted asked that donations be made to Hospice Durham, 209 Dundas Street East, Whitby, Ontario L1N 7H8 or to a local hospice of your choice.

McROBBIE, James

at his home in Newtonville on Saturday, May 11, 2002, in his 68th year. Jim, beloved husband of Olga. Loving father of Mike Bayda and his wife Lynn of Newcastle, and James McRobbie and his wife Lisa of Keswick. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Melissa and Colin Bayda. Loved mother of Bert Vanden Heuvel and his wife Patricia of Bracebridge, Jan Vanden Heuvel of Orono, John Vanden Heuvel of Nelson B.C., and Margaret and her husband Andy Hiemstra of Port Perry. Loving grandmother of David, Heather John and Heidi, Garry and Jacqui, Jonathan, Jeremy and Naomi-Lina, and Michelle and Stephen. Great-grandmother of Noah, Matthew, Samantha, Patricia and Stephanie. Predeceased by great-grandchildren Albert and Alexander. Friends were received at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa, on Monday May 13th. A funeral service was held at Zion Christian Reformed Church (Adelaide and Central Park) on Tuesday May 14th. Interment MOUNT LAWN Memorial Gardens, Whitby. Olive Dean died peacefully at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on May 10, 2002 in her 98th year. Born in Port Stanton, Ontario, Olive made many friends in her homes in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Aurora. Predeceased by her husband Douglas Wesley Dean in 1974 and daughter Judith Ticehurst (Otterburn, Quebec) in 1989, Olive is survived by sister Vivian Fraser (Lindsay)and daughter Barbara and son-in-law Tom Rance of Uxbridge. She will be missed by grandchildren Susie, Doug, and Fred Rance (Debbie Voth), Tricia Michielin (Maico/Mike), Lynda Kroeker (Don), 4 delightful great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held Thursday, May 16th, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Low & Low Funeral Home chapel, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge, Ontario.
