Loving mother of Rene (Jan), Gerry (Susan), Ted (Connie), Rick (Dawna) and Oma to eleven grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her niece Dale Singer and by many family members in Holland and Sweden. At Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Monday, July 15, 2002, in her 65th year, after a drowning accident at her summer camp near Lake Simcoe. Beloved wife of the late Peter Hewes of Newcastle, formerly of Scarborough. Daughter of Arthur Walton of England. Dear sister of Christopher Walton of Australia and Sarah Logan of England. Jessica will be sadly missed by her close friends and many acquaintances. She was an ardent activist for many environmental causes, and she will be remembered for her hard work, dedication, and ability to hit the nail on the head. Respecting her wishes, cremation will take place with no funeral. Those wishing to celebrate Jessica s life are invited to a pot-luck gathering at 84 Beaver St. N., Newcastle, at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.
