Age 91 years. On Sunday August 25, 2002, the Lord took Home His child at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Beloved wife for 50 years of the late Frans Gysbert Glasbergen. Dear mother of Peter & Alice Glasbergen; George & Debbie Glasbergen; Corry & Auke VanderMeer; Frank & Marlene Glasbergen; Case & Geraldine Glasbergen; John & Alice Glasbergen. Lovingly remembered by 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters 1 in Holland and 1 in Hungary; and 3 sisters-in-law in the Netherlands. Visitation will take place at The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday. Funeral Service will be held 11am Wednesday at Hebron Christian Reformed Church, Whitby, ON. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Durham Pregnancy Help Centre.

MURRAY, Marguerite (nee Davis) -

passed away peacefully at Fairview Lodge in Whitby on Sunday, August 25th, 2002 in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob). Marguerite was born in Fort William (now Thunder Bay) Ontario on August 28th, 1912, the only daughter of Marie Louise Gagnon and William Davis. She is survived by her daughters Gail Dahl of London and Shelley and her husband Bruce Hunt of Whitby. Cherished Grandmother of Tamara Dahl, Kevin Dahl and his wife Jill and Laura and Lindsay Hunt. Great Grandmother of Abigail and Emily Dahl. A Private Family Funeral was held with Interment to follow in Thunder Bay. Arrangements under the direction of OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE Thornton Chapel 847 King St. West (905-721-1234). Memorial Donations to Fairview Lodge or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Fairview Lodge for their exceptional care over the past few years.

BANDEL, Emily Rose -

(June 9th, 1915 - August 24th, 2002). It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear Aunt Meme . Her home in recent years was Extendicare; and the wonderful and caring staff who work there and the many residents and their families whom Emily came to know, became her extended family. Aunt Meme also attended Dialysis at Whitby where the Doctors and staff were equally as caring. Predeceased by her sisters, Otilla Till" Heffering and Helen MacDonald, and her brother William Will Bandel. She was loved dearly by her nieces, Jane, Jackie, Judy, Jennifer, Julianne, Jo-Ann, and Susan, and her nephews, Michael, Jim and Richard, and their respective spouses, children and grandchildren. Her special baking and preserves will be missed by all. Emily s strong will to live, her courage, determination, unselfishness and kindness towards others was an inspiration to all. She will be in our hearts and prayers forever. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Catherine Whitbread, Susan Whitbread, Janet Geisberger, Beth and her husband Rob Corbett and David and his wife Mary Geisberger and her great grandsons Joshua and Jacob Geisberger and Nathan Corbett. Heslop. Dear father of Paul and his wife Irene of Oshawa, Blair and his wife Kelly of Peterborough, Colin of Peterborough, Alison Wraight (Hughes) and her husband Greg of Toronto. Loving grandfather of Alyssa, Brianne, Shayna, Vanessa, Cassandra, Jacob, and Claudia. Brother of Margaret Collins (Ted) of Maidstone, Ontario. Also survived by 2 uncles, 1 aunt, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. Pre-deceased by parents Mary and Charlie Wraight and a brother John. Doug belonged to the All Saints Choir for 28 years, member of the Peterborough Railway Modellers, retired Realtor (Bowes and Cocks) and employee of Comstock Funeral Home. Friends were received at the Comstock Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, Peterborough from 7-9 pm Tuesday. The service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church (Rubidge Street, Peterborough) on Wednesday, August 28th at 1:00 pm. The Reverend J. Michael A. Wright will be officiating. In memory of Doug donations to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) or the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Society would be appreciated by the family.

A funeral service will be held at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. (just north of 401 at the lights) on Tuesday, August 27, at 1:00 p.m., with visiting for one hour prior to the service. Interment Bond Head Cemetery, Newcastle.

Suddenly, at Rouge Valley Healthcare Centre, Scarborough, on Friday August 23, 2002. Sandy Clark, in his 55th year. Beloved husband of Mildred Bogdanow. Loved son of Betty and Bill Clark. Loving father of Alison and Griffm. Step-father of Trevor and his wife Lorie. Loved by many aunts and uncles. DEWAR, Keith Phillips -

Past Master of The Cedar Lodge Branch 270 and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112. Mr. Dewar passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital, Sudbury, on Friday, August 23, 2002 with his wife Heather at his side. Son of the late Robert and Eleanor Dewar, he was born in Prince Edward Island on Sept.10, 1921, and served as a Warrant Officer in the RAF in India during World War II. A former constable with the Oshawa Police Department, he retired from General Motors in 1975 with 29 years service, and then acted as a volunteer fireman in Manvers Township. An avid singer and story-teller, he was very proud of his Scottish heritage and served as Drum Major of the General Motors Pipe Band. Survived by his dear wife, Heather, step-daughters Julie-Lynn and Angela Dawn, and dear sister, Gwen Dewar. Predeceasedby his beloved first wife, Dorothy Frape, and brothers Roel and Arthur. Memorial service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 117 Byron St. S., Whitby on Thursday, Sept.5, 2002 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at 5:00 p.m. at Ballyduff Prebysterian Cemetery, Manvers Township. Donations in Keith's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

GILCHRIST, Rev. James S. -

Suddenly at his home in St. Marys on Friday, August 23rd, 2002 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Audrey Gilchrist. Dear father of Nancy Habermehl and her husband Stephen of St. Marys, David and his wife Nancy of Rockwood and Mary Ann Rielly and her husband Jim of Pefferlaw. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Elizabeth, Kathleen and Evan Habermehl and Annalisa Rielly. Brother of the late Tom Gilchrist, and Agson Greer. Brother-in-law of Norine Wild and the late Dorothy Garbutt and Edward Hewer. Caring uncle to Jim Gilchrist and his wife Sylvia and Cheryl Gilchrist. (Jim was a Presbyterian Minister for over 40 years, serving congregations in Ailsa Craig, Bowmanville and Oshawa). Albert will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Dear father to Donna-Marie Edmondson (Steve Hine), Ottawa, Grandfather to Zachariah Sprackett (Julie), Kanata; Elijah Bouchard (Kim), Ottawa; and Caleb Bouchard (Xanthe), Ottawa. Great-grandfather of Kiren Sprackett. Brother to Robert Tippett, Calgary, Alta.; Betty Clarke (husband Gordon), Oshawa; Lois Segus (late husband Norman), Mt. Albert, ON; and Raymond Tippett (wife Beverley), Stouffville. Predeceased by sisters Anne McGuire and Joan Stapley and by brother William Tippett. Survived by brothers-in-law John Stapley and Bill McGuire. He will be missed by his many nieces & nephews and by his many friends. BRINKMAN, Dirk -

Age 83 years. Dirk Brinkman actively participated in all that he believed in, his contributions were many and will be remembered by all who met him. To mention a few Dirk Brinkman was a member of Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church, he was instrumental in the creation of Knox Christian Elementary School & Durham Christian High School, from conception through the birth of Durham Christian Homes, he was there. He was a board member of Salem Christian Homes & Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools. For 40 years he was your State Farm insurance Agent. This list is a small representation of his work here on earth. After his retirement he home steadied in British Columbia for 10 years. On Thursday, August 22nd, 2002, Dirk Brinkman passed away at his home in Bowmanville surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Alida C. Brinkman, the family immigrated from the Netherlands, March 17, 1950 with 4 kids in tow and were blessed with six more children, 34 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dear father of Dirk & Joyce; Wiebe & Jackie; John & Susan; Alida & Joe; Reitsma; Pauline & Simon Kendall; Honas & Maer; George & Irene; An drew; Grace and June. Dear brother of Gerrit, Case, Grace Kamper, Barbara Camfferman, Jan and the late Nell DeGraaf. Visitation at The Northcutt Elliot Funeral Home; 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Sunday. Suddenly at home on Thursday August 22, 2002, at the age of 10. Dylan, loving son of Cliff and Sue, friend and brother of Jenny and her fiance Rick. Grandson of Audrey and the late Llew Jones and Ervin and Mary Carr. Dylan will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Peacefully, with her daughters at her side on August 22, 2002, at Picton Manor, at the age of 79. Beloved and devoted wife of the late Douglas Gallinger (1990) and the late Arnold Raison (1998). Loving mother of Jackie (Bill), Kathy (John) and Sherry (Dan). Much loved grandma of Lindsay, Billy, Cayla, Darcy and Alex. Survived by brother Bill and sisters, Betty - Lou and Shirley. Predeceased by Nettie, Jack, Mae, Ken and Gerald (Bud). She will be fondly remembered by the Gallinger and the Raison families. Always loved and forever missed.
